I wanted a chocolate "fix" and had my mom to dinner and decided to get some sugar-free-fat-free pudding mix and fixed that. It did the trick.
-
bcincolorado, I also like the fat free pudding and also the sugar free jello. They are both actually good. I will usually have one or the other with my salad at work.
Valjean, you have plenty of company with the eating of 3-5 packs of the snacks. I'm okay if I just look at the snacks but touch one and it opens up my over-indulging. Today was just a loss as I was out of control because someone bought brownies to work. Arrrrgghhhhh!
Tomorrow's a new day.
-
patoo ~ you make me feel not quite so bad with your admission of snack-attack. It just grabs ahold of me & I'm a goner.
Great, great idea, bcincolorado, about the fat-free-sugar-free pudding. I love pudding! Jello is okay, much rather have thick, lucious pudding! Tomorrow, Tuesday, is my grocery shopping day & I have a stickie-note written to add it to my list in the morning. Thanks for that!
I need to start counting out individual crackers or whatever for the calorie count again. I hate doing that but it does work.
I need to stay on the perimeter of the store tomorrow - hit the veggies for sure. If I can walk out of there not having bought those Keebler cheese crackers, that is a big step for me.
EDT:
(I was 154.2# this morning - Sept 14th I was 157.2#, which is the highest I have ever been even being pregnant twice.)
-
Valjean, I was almost 157 when I GOT pregnant with my first (19 yrs ago) and have not seen it since! I'm on a mission this time...When I get to a happy weight, I'm having my final reconstruction, and not before. Good motivation to get it right this time.
Hope you can hold off from that sucking sound trying to pull you into the cheese cracker aisle at the grocery store today
-
I think it would be an incentive if we were allowed one "healthy choice" point per day of a food choice - like eating something healthy that we normally wouldn't or NOT eating something sweet and sugary that we normally WOULD - like the cupcakes in the break room, or the brownies etc. I don't think we should have a bunch of points this way but one per day for avoiding this stuff all day is surely worth a healthy point. Any ideas? What do you think, Meece?
Lunch ideas - I used to eat leftovers, but now I let my boys do that! I'm eating cottage cheese and chunked pineapple, plus a fresh peach. Or melon instead of pineapple is also very filling. Or a Greek yogurt and a few healthy crackers, and a peach or apple. I like the soup idea too, since it's getting closer to winter.
Snack ideas - It's helpful to me to package the correct portion into small baggies - then I'm good to go, and have a portion control built in. The Rosemary and herb Triscuits with a monz. cheese stick is great. Or Costco has peanut butter pretzels - 6 are about 100 calories. If I eat them slow and savor the flavor, I'm very satisfied - plus the peanut butter is protein.
I cleaned up the garden yesterday and planted some winter flowers, so that was an extra 5 exercise points! Plus an hour at Curves was another 2! Hopefully that will mean a loss this week - I'd love the extra 2 points and also the extra point for a new E-Lab low!!!!
-
I like the healthy food choice point - if we can one healthy food choice or say NO to a bad food choice that is a step in the right direction

-
Well, I walked right past the cheese crackers today & didn't look that way.
It would have been soooo easy.....I didn't realize they still made Cup-a-Soup. I used to keep those in my desk at work when I was much, much younger. And they still make cream of chicken so I bought a box to see if I still like it. Plus bought some broccoli, carrots, lettuce & tomatoes for salads. Picked up some fat-free sugar-free lemon & white chocolate pudding mixes.
Now I need to get the exercise part going again. I really, really need to do that.
-
One of my biggest downfalls is free snacks that people bring to work to share. I can't eat wheat, so cakes, cookies, donuts, etc aren't a problem but candy is. I've always been a candy-holic. Polished off an entire bag (albeit small) of spice drops this evening. Candy is my comfort food. Sigh. Other than that, I'm usually good at work for lunch and snacks - I keep good stuff like almonds, jerky or bring fresh snacks. But I'm really bad about portion control, and snacking when I get home.
Working on it...
-
bookart--when I bring home something like that I measure out portions and individually package them in snack size ziplock bags, then put the filled ziplock bags in the original container. Then I only pull out one serving at a time. At least I have to think before eating the second one, and that sometimes stops me. Not always, but sometimes.

Ladies so sorry I missed Friday check in but I was on my way to the Grand Ole Opry for the weekend to celebrate my 23rd wedding anniversary and my 2yr cancerversary on Saturday night when the Opry goes pink!! It was awesome!!!! We saw Robin Roberts from GMA, Martina McBride, Ronnie Milsap, Little Jimmy Dickens, Whispering Bill Anderson, Kellie Pickler, Lauren Alaina and award winning gospel singer Sheri Easter( who herself is a 3yr breast cancer survivor and has a new book our Hear my Heart and I was privileged enough to get to meet her and get a signature on her book I bought). I also tried eating alligator for the first time LOL!! and we got some early Christmas shopping done
.I had a blast but I'm sorry to say I wasn't really dieting this weekend!!! Now it's back to the diet grind stone this week. Gotta work the booty off...
-
Oh Mimi, did you have the Sunday Brunch at the Opryland Hotel? As I recall from years ago when I lived in Nashville, it was the most amazing brunch I have ever seen in my life.
