racy, grinandbearit, mamalou - thank you so much. I was afraid if not by now, it might not come back. But you guys give us hope that it does.
racy, I had DD AC.
thank you ladies. You made a sad, scared person feel better!

Is there a hair dance like a rain dance I can do? I'm 13 weeks PFC tomorrow and I have full coverage, but short, short, short. It seems like it hasn't grown at all in 2 weeks. Anyone else experience that? I want out of this wig so bad, but I look no less like a cancer patient with this bad short hair than I did bald!
-
I had an eye appt yesterday. When I was putting in my new contacts I noticed I have about 3 lower lashes. I didn't even notice they fell out! But I haven't been putting on much makeup. I'm very glad to know that new growth may show up in a week for lashes and brows.
-
MamaV, I am 10 weeks PFC and am experiencing the same as you. Actually the hair started coming back on Taxotere, that was 19 weeks ago. It does seem to have better coverage, but it is only about a quarter to a half inch long. It seems to be stuck there. Some people blame it on Herceptin. I don't know. I had surgery, Herceptin and now starting radiation. I'm sure all of them aren't the best for growing hair.

I'm starting to think about colouring my hair....said that I wouldn't but I'm getting tempted. I'm just really not liking the colour and I have a fair amount of grey. Maybe I'll just leave it grow for awhile and get some highlights.
hmmmmm...

Just Do It
(If you dont' like it you can just grow it out)
-
Lago - I can see how you would be a trouble maker LOL

Hi Ladies, Marjie i said the same thing, but i couldn't stand it. My hair was really dull, so i had it done and they used an all over color that washes out, but where the gray was it looks highlighted and it stayed that way.
For everyone that is waiting for their hair to come back, patience is the key, i know it is hard but once it starts, it comes in really fast and in my case very thick and curley. I know you think this is good but i look like Don King in the morning!!! It just sticks straight up and i'm am serious when i say my hair feels just like a poodle's fur. I'm not complaining, i'm not complaining, i'm really not complaining. LOL!!!
Good Luck everyone!!!

pumela115 - sounds like we have the same Don King hair thing going on....lollll
-
pumela - what colour? I'm worried it will go orange but maybe that's just for really new hair. I want to do a light ash brown
-
I had it done at a beauty shop and i'm not sure of the exact color, but it turned out dark brown with auburn highlights (where the gray was) and now the highlights are blonde. As it washes out the gray blends in pretty good. I wanted a foil, but she told me it would be a waste of money, because my hair was so short. I hope this helps.
Missy, all i can say is unruly!!! But like i said i'm not complaining!

Marjie my hair did come out a bit too red the first time but it was pretty. My hair dresser adjusted it and did it again. Then next time we went even more brown. It might take a few tries but I never looked like an orangutan. Just stay away from anything with red in it.

I have a cow lick at the crown of my head!! Pretty excited to have enough hair for it to stand up. I am mostly 1/4 long. I am not getting any longer but it does seem to be getting thicker. Where I am a little freaked about is at my temples-the hairline seems to start WAAAAAY too far back.
I also bought a soft bristled hairbrush today. I have been using a little nail brush so far-and it is still probably enough..

MamaV and kay1963, I am with you. I have hair coverage but the growth in length is very slow; still barely an inch at 23 weeks pfc.
To those who say 'once it gets growing it really takes off', when exactly is that?
What length have others had at 23 weeks?
I am only on Femara and have had no cuts. I use biotin, Nioxin and rosemary oil.
I need longer ends so I can get extensions ASAP! -
Racy I am at 25 weeks and my hair on the top of my head is 2 inches....

Thanks crog234!

Racy, I am with you, I finished the very end of April, and only one inch! I have pretty good coverage and it is straight. I have actually had 2 trims, around ears and neck (just to shape). I am actually starting to like the look, and have had several compliments. My boys tell me I look "artsy" and "edgy", I love, the wash, gel and go routine.
-
This is probably a stupid question, but I have seen several references to Nioxin. Which of the Nioxin's do you use? I have looked and there are several choices. ---denise
-
If my hair stays at this 1" length for another 10 weeks I'm gonna have a fit! Just saying!
-
A brush? ..now that's a novel idea..I have not brushed or combed my hair since early Feb!..I used the Nioxin shampoo, conditioner and scalp therapy which came in a kit of all three..I think I used level 3..there are quite a few kinds
-
I have to brush mine over in the morning, otherwise when I take the towel off it's a mohawk! A few weeks ago I could just brush it over and calm it down a bit, but now the curls in the back stick up and even though the front lays mostly flat, it's all still curly - several people who know what I've been through have asked me to touch it.
-
I finished FEC-T chemo on the 19th of September. Hooray!
My head hair started to grow back on the Taxotere. My head hair which is now all white is sparse but on the very top it sticks up almost an inch long. I still have a few small bald patches. I go without my wig most of the time because of hot flashes - the sweat just drips down the back of my head and my face.
I have had almost no growth return to my eyebrows and eyelashes.
People stare a lot but I like to think I'm educating a few. It upsets me on the days when I'm feeling sorry for myself. My partner says I'm beautiful no matter how much hair I have. It's purely my own insecurities that make some days tougher than others.
I love hearing all your stories. We are all so different with our rate of growth. I hope more of you will post pictures if you can because I find those so inspiring!
OK, let me go get my camera

Jules59 The henna cream was called surya brasil. It kind of faded. I picked chocolate.
Lastnight I went to Lowes with my family and I walked around topless. When I got to the cashier I put my buff back on. My husband asked me why, He thinks I look great. But I chickened out. I will post pics next week. It is filling in and most of it is 1/4 inch long.
-
Racy, look back at Carrol2's pictures on the top of page 377. They made me feel better!
I hope it is page 377.
-
I can't wait to have hair again! Enough to ditch the hats and wig! My last taxotere/cytoxin is 10/14, so maybe mid-February?
-
Just went for a consultation re extensions. I have 3", and she told me I need another 2" of hair. I can't believe they would need that much hair.....:(
-
Robo,
My lashes and brows thinned but never lost them all during chemo. They fell out about 4 weeks after my last TCH. Just wiped them off washing my face. They are growing back in quickly but while I have almost full coverage on the right eye my left was is gappy. They are very short now. The eye dr said they have a 6 week growth cycle and to be patient. HA!! He did write me an rx for Latisse, I'm hoping that will make them grow in a little faster.
-
robo47, I did not lose my eyelashes and brows until I was almost finished with all chemo. I finished 9-16 and I still have a few eyelashes and brows. Not many though, I use a pencil on the brows. I got Latisse after I finished chemo, I've been using it for a little over a week. I can't really see any change yet, but I'm sure it's too soon.

Robo my thinned during chemo but never lost till 5 weeks PFC. Matter of fact Adey met me at the Christmast party last year and said "how come she gets to keep her eyelashes?" I had more lashes after my 4th chemo than I do now.
-
My eyelashes and eyebrows thinned too during chemo, then went away after I was done. I have almost nothing to put mascara on.
