I had this posted on Stage IV, but I think Stage III guys seem to respond more timely:

I'm very, very concerned (crying concerned).  Three years ago, had a one-sided mx with mets in my lungs and spine.  After my mammo yesterday (Thursday), I waited in my johnny coat for them to tell me it was ok to get dressed.  Instead I was called in to take another picture with a different angle.  My nurse navigator was on vacation and I had nowhere to go for comfort.  I called my MS's office to find out when the results would come in the the girl said not for a few days and the doctor is not in tomorrow (Friday).

Then I thought of you guys, my support group.  Am I being overly worried, or do I have a better chance of mets to spread to my "good" breast before anywhere else?

If they catch a cancer, it'll be early and I may not lose the other breast, but I dread a change in treatment or having radiation again.

Any good word? Are they being

So sorry this is happening - I call this cruel and unusual punishment.

Most of the hospitals in my area automatically do mammograms on us survivors as diagnostic - you know where the radiologist is available to read the pix right then and there. I had a blip on my good side this time, and they took the extra pix, looked at it, and said it was fine and I was free to go. In the 15 minutes it took to do that, I mentally told my husband and daughter my cancer was back, wrote e-mails to my cancer support group (still do lunch and Facebook, nice ladies), and tried to think about a work project.

Ask your doctor to please write your mammogram scrip for a diagnostic study. You don't deserve this level of stress.

Oh, yeah, and if s/he questions you about the need for the diagnostic - tell 'em next time you will need a strait jacket to get through this!

Thanks CanDo.  I'll make sure I'll ask next time. But right now, as you said, I'm thinking the cancer has spread and whatever else can go wrong will.  To make things worse, I picked yesterday to call the cemetery to find a plot for me.  What a way to start the day; what a way to end it.

You didn't mention this so I thought I'd ask, are you BRCA+ or -?  I am + so I did a double masectomy for that reason.  They could just be checking you out extra good because of your history, I hope your weekend gets better.
