Thanks Girls not happy to be so old though, I should change my name to 59 after tomorrow. It's tough when you are young in the mind and your body is getting old.
The pool test was great, only needed to add acid - not bad after 6 weeks. The water actually looks quite good. Had to buy a new mat for the cleaner so I got a cheap one. I can now rest but I do need to water the garden later, but that's not like hard work, I find it relaxing. It's amazing how hot it is here already and it's only Spring.

Susieq - you are my twin, just one year older. Born at 12:15pm mountain standard time. My other twin is my brother; he was a gift for my 12th birthday! I get to recover from infusions for my Birthday, hope yours is better.
Blue, went to the highland games last weekend. So many wee scots! And some not so wee ones. The "Bonnie knees" contest was really fun. What a great weekend it was.
Bar tender - Ice Wine all around to celebrate! -
Scuttlers, I also have a "twin", a sister born on my 15th birthday. I wasn't too happy about it for many years as it was no longer "my" birthday since she got all the attention every year. We get on really well though we are very different in many ways. Did you find your brother took the limelight from you on your birthdays?
-
Joy - he still does! He just bought a house for 5 million +. It has a freakin' elevator! Needless to say he is quite "the golden boy". I love him dearly and he has always been my greatest fan, from the very first day. Don't mind sharing the birthday. Although this year he is in China on business, so I get to be the only one with a cake! We are different, but also the same in many ways. He just lives in a world that is fantasy for the rest of us. Most of the time I loved having him around, although "babysitting" did cramp some of my teen years.
-
Scuttlers - how amazing, my brother was born the month before my 12th birthday. I hope the treatment is not too harsh on you and you can enjoy some of your birthday. Are you the 24th? Not sure how our time translates to yours. It's the 24th here tomorrow our time. HAPPY BIRTHDAY may you have many more.
Garden watered. Had to return to the vet again to pick up Poppy's blanket. It was nice of DD to take her things with her but I keep discovering missing stuff - hopefully that's the end of it.
Did the duty calls to mother and aunt. Aunt miffed I didn't send postcards. Oh well, next time I'll send her one everyday. She didn't get to send me a birthday card so we're even.
DH sleeping again and it's time I started dinner - steak night - he cooks that part. I do the fries and veg and sauce - easy for me. I'm laughing at how well I handled the jet lag and how badly he's handled it. He went to the doc and he thinks it's a virus. Hopefully the cough will go soon.

He has a man cold!
-
The bigger animal is always harder on the move.
Happy birthday, Susie and Scuttlers!
-
They call it Man Flu in NZ - he really does have the most awful cough. I still can't believe he didn't remember I was sick in Ireland too. I'm sick now but not getting any sympathy. Dinner was yummy.
Think I'll go to bed early tonight - maybe all the work I've done is catching up with me.

Happy BDAY Susie and Scuttlers! Hope your days are great!
Well, I haven't heard anything yet but didn't really expect to until next week. Everything is still crossed. Will be headed home this afternoon. Two planes then home by 11. UHG. Hate this.
-
Happy Birthday Scuttlers and Susie .. hope you have a wonderful day!
It's pouring down rain today. arghh.
Hope everyone has a good day,
Bren

Thank you for those of you who have welcomed me. I'm still lurking and not sure if I should post because you guys have all known each other for so long and I took a hiatus from the organization for a while. I really don't know what this thread is all about and what it means. Can you explain?
All I know is....it
s one of the fasted growing and it's interesting to see what someone answers in 5 min. apposed to 5 days.
Hugs, Artsee

Someone gonna answer Artsee, all I can think of is : yada, yada, yada. Support, friendship, interesting happenings, more friendship, more support, great jokes(sometimes), yada, yada, yada, and bc. Well, the "gifts" of BC -which for me is Arimidex & the current "gift" of the itchiest ezcema on my face, ears. AMAZING.
More yada, yada, yada, and YOUR ART!
Morning all. Guess what, it's RAINING in western MA. We're beginning to ignore flood warnings, learning what streets are closed, and getting ready for the first frost. Which means, also, all the road crews are doing their darndest to get the potholes fixed, the washed out roads fixed, cuz the "fixing" season is very short here - between the Frosts - June to October.
Yad, yada, yada, and I jsut GOTTA say HOW WONDERFUL and PEACEFUL it has been here for a while and I LOVE IT. Peace to all. Hope it's sunny someplace.
-
Susie and Scuttlers.....

-
Artsee, We talk about anything........no parameters, and it can also be non-sequitur.
-
Happy Birthday to Susie and Scuttlers - welcome Artsee - jump in the water's fine!
Sandy
-
I'm confused about when Scuttlers and Susie's birthdays are! Whenever, I hope they have wonderful ones.
-
Sunflowers,
More rain coming your way.....get out the canoe!!
-
Happy Birthday Susieq and Scuttlers! Susie, I hope you're feeling better today. Scuttlers, I hope your treatment isn't too hard on you and you get to enjoy part of the day. I had thyroid surgery on my birthday one year and I felt cheated, so I celebrated it for the entire next week.
Artsee, I was new around here when I ran into this group. I lurked for quite a while but I really enjoyed the wide-ranging conversation so finally I jumped in. So just join in and feel free to bring up topics you're interested in, you'll enjoy the interaction.
-
Morning Friends!
I think of this thread like an episode from Seinfeld.
Artsee .. I like Cindy's idea of just doing a cannonball and jumping right in!
The rain is coming down in buckets. Very happy we live on a little hill or we would have a flooded mess on our hands. Thanks goodness all the water is running down the hill into the fields!
I think Susie's b-day is the 24th, which it is in Australia now .. and I'm pretty sure Scuttlers is the 23rd here in the USA. Somebody let me know if I figured this wrong.
hugs,
Bren

Happy Birthday Susie and Scuttlers!! Let's start the day with Mimosas for everyone!!
-
artsee,
We are a mixture of old and new here in terms of how long people have been posting so don't feel that you are joining in late. We are the product of several thread incarnations that originally began discussing healthcare in the US vs. other countries, then politics, then what we were having for dinner, and now we just stay here as thread friends and anything goes. Never a dull moment for better and for worse. I am wondering if you are going to get some interesting answers to your question by PM.

Anyway, sit down and make yourself comfortable. Fridays are interesting but every day here is immensely worthwhile.
Crappy, muggy weather here! Yuck. 70s still. How annoying.
-
Mine is the 24th here, which is tomorrow.
So HAPPY BIRTHDAY wishes to Susie!!! (place wonderful picture of cake here). And let all the celebration be HERS today. (guess we really are not twins, she is a confusing day older). And I just realized that since my brother is in China this week, I don't have to share the birthday with him LOL)
Hillck - still working on the logistics for Seattle. Have a REALLY busy schedule up to that week, and am going to be in Monroe the Tuesday before, so thought I might just stay through (if the energy holds and need to check on infusion dates). Will let you know soon.
HPPY BIRTHDAY SUSIEQ58!!!!!! -
Scuttlers .. I was confused. So you both have a b-day on the 24th afterall. Well .. start celebrating today!
Susie .. hope you are enjoying a relaxing day after all the work you've done since you've been home.
hugs,
Bren
PS .. Cindy .. what conference are you going to?
-
Hahaha, I like that, Bren - an episode from Seinfeld - that's a perfect description! Welcome, Artsee! I don't post here all that often, and definitely can't keep up with everything that's going on, but it's a great place to just "hang out" and read and/or post! There are always interesting conversations and a friendly, welcoming group. Where else can you get recipes and dating advice and jokes and environmental enlightenment, etc. all in one place?
-
Well, you all seem so sweet. Here goes...I don't have to even check if I'm in the right threat here.
Kind of a hodge podge thread eh? I just got done cleaning my windows inside and took all the screens outside to hose them down. The sun is shinning over here and they look soooo nice. Now if the dang flies would get outs here they may stay 'poop free'. At this time of the year they hover over a window and door...that just might open for them.
I retired from the hair business in May and have the pleasure of being an Artist full time now. Yesterday I started 'Autumn Leaves', and finished framing it, so by evening it was hanging on my wall. I'm not always so lucky that it flows off the brush and works for me.
Was at the Dr. this week and I'm good for another 10,000 miles. (I hope and pray) Mamo and apt. in April....After we get back from Sun City Grand. Didn't want to do it before.:) I must be kind of superstitious.
Do any of you know of someone wanting to rent a house in that area? My friend is having the hardest time trying to find something for the month of March 2012.
Lucy...my Yorkie...is having to go out. She's whining. Talk to later.
Hugs, Evie

-
sewingnut - we're gonna need an ARK! Lotsa animals living around me
-
Evie .. great cannonball! Sounds like a busy day for you. When my sis lived in WI, she said the flies would get so bad they would have to vacuum them up mid air! I love your water color paintings. You must be creative if you also styled hair.
Sewingnut .. I'm with Sunflowers, send me that ark.
Kad2kar ... I don't know how you're still sane. And all that on 1/4 cup of coffee.
Cindy .. I think the conference looks very interesting. Not geeky at all. Have you ever talked to Gina at nonsurrenders breast cancer site? She's very strong into advocacy and has a "Before 40 Initiative" you might be interested in.
Well .. I've managed to procrastinate most of this day away. Need to clean the bathroom. arghh. Kad2kar .. will your hubby work for awhile in my house?
hugs,
Bren
-
evie(alias loosey goosey) I'll let you explain

would you please post the link to your website, so everyone can OOOOH & AAAAH at your art!!!
-
Scuttlers - we are twins. I haven't met many people born on the 24th in my life. I think it's a special day being the first day of Libra. Are you 1 year older or younger?
It's 5am - can't sleep. DH complaining in the night about me being restless and blaming my addictions. I've since had a thought it might be the Arimidex - must google it.
Thanks for the cake Blue - love it. I must go out and buy myself cake today - why not?
Thankyou all for the birthday wishes - you are al so sweet.
Sue
