PIP, you took the words right out of my keyboard. We talk about everything here which includes current events.
Crazydaisy, I am looking forward to the trip. I'm glad you had such a good time.
-
Lovely, lectures from RH on good behavior. It must be Friday. Guess that's why it's been so peacefu here, most of the worst offenders of "being nice" post on another website. Still just AMAZED at the women who still follow this thread, so, so, so, so closely. Even tho it's not on the Active List anymore. Stretches any imagination to think a harsh critic of this particular thread would have it in their "Favorites."
Happy Friday everyone. Thanks Athena, for reminding our friends how DEPRESSED the current politics is making so many of us. It's a very emotional time, and we know stress, depression is definitely not good for our over all health. That better, RH?
-
Phone interview today at 3:30. Fingers and toes crossed.
-
Well SunflowerM...here you are. How's that new watercolor book coming? Have you painted anything after that plethora of information?
-
It's Friday...
I don't even want to ask what that drive-by was about. There was a perfectly rational discussion going on...
-
Athena .. I appreciated your comments .. you're much more eloquent than I am.
Laura ... The current situation is affecting my health .. and my well being, and that of my family.
Barbara .. Your interview is in about 45 minutes! I've got everything crossed for you! I know you'll do great ... cause you are great!
Welcome Artsee! You have such a wonderful talent. Love your paintings!
hugs,
Bren
-
Blue .. when do you leave on your trip? Tomorrow .. or next weekend?
love you,
Bren
-
Barb, even my eyes are crossed.
Bren, I think we will leave on Wednesday and come back Saturday.
-
Oh BTW, the posts are up for the fence. Yeeeeeeeeeehawwwwwwww!
-
Yay! Your fence is finally going up! Da Virg and Lilah will have so much fun in the back yard.
hugs,
Bren

It seems Laura GTO doesn't like being called the screen name she uses on Breastcanswers.com. She sent me this PM
"I suggest you remove the name RightyHeidi from your post. If not, I will report your post, and I will call Judy. Thanks!"
SO, I told her to do as she pleases.
In case you wonder who RH is, tho.....
This thread is so attractive, and inviting, even people who constantly criticize us on another website, seem to be unable to resist reading what we write. Seems it's time to reinstate Ye Olde Ignore Function. I thought by now they'd know to leave the Peace in Peace. Ah, well, some folks never learn! -
Artsee - I am sitting out in the sunshine reading the book now! I LOVE IT!
-
WOW, some folks really DO follow this thread: Just got this from LauraGTO, before I had a chance to put her on IGNORE: Not only do some people STALK this thread, I wonder what they are expecting to generate? But they do it SO consistently.
Just got this PM from LautaGTO - so fast I couldn't even get her on ignore"IGNORE BUTTON IS GREAT! bye -" -
Yeah Barbara ... good luck!
Current events are what is happening and being discussed in the public arena. Politics is what political party you belong to or lean toward supporting. The fact that current events and problems, i.e., what is happening, what has been done, what is being done and/or what needs to be done are constantly being viewed as 'political' is the biggest problem. It turns everything into a goat rodeo of taking sides based on political advantage ... and nothing gets done.
susieq ... enjoying your trip reports!
-
Laura - You also have the right to not read. Maybe we should have that included in the rules? I thought it was just common sense. (Having the feeling I'll get reported now. At least we'll know).
-
Athena - now I expect another poster to chime in with "not good to be reporting how we feel" - it's as bad as "guessing" - truly, some folks just can't resist our jokes, good sense, support, kind fellowship, bar tending skills, and awareness of what is really going on - we'll pretend not to notice next time there's a driveby....
Common Sense - not a commodity I expect from some of the people who attack this thread....
-
Awwww, I can't stay 'cause we're just driving through Casper, WY, on our way to somewhere else... but I had to stop in and say "hi". And, I couldn't do that without thanking AnnNYC for that wonderful pic of otter-mom. I *love* that picture. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
I'm sorry I can't comment on what's going on (maybe just as well, in some cases...), except I did see that jancie is having some troubles with a tooth (ewwww!) as well as some heart stuff. Can't say about the tooth thing, but the heart thing ought to be reversible if it's good and early.
DH is shouting at me to get off this computer and help him find a grocery store. Bye, and hugs to all!

-
Ohmygosh, WhiteRabbit, did you really just say "goat rodeo" in public???
-
well, she cudda said "smelly goat rodeo" = tee, hee......
-
Just put a little explanation in my post :-)...
Barbara, BEST OF LUCK!!!! ("Break a leg!")
-
LOL Sunflowers, but what other kind IS there???
-
LOL ... better than what I was thinking

I think I just saw an otter swim by. Probably too late to say 'hi' but nice to see you!
-
That Otter is a quick swimmer, WR - I tried lifting a paw to wave but she was gone.
-
Great to see Otter .. sounds like a fun trip they're taking. She sure was quick with that drive-by!
Thinking of Barbara and hoping she's nailing that interview right now!
Sunflowers .. sometimes MTF syndrome is hard to beat.
hugs,

Does this statment sound familiar ...OUR PLAN IS TO MAKE OBAMA A 1 TERM PRESIDENT.......Nothing the man has done for the past 4 years has been good enough..............Even when he was right.......................he was wrong..................its a shame.......I think the man did a decent job under the circumstances........................
Can anyone actually question where all the money has gone, and where the help has been given............tax breaks for the rich, taxbreaks for big oil, a war we did not belong in, a war that was left unfinished (afgan), and now Obama has to fixt that too................................He was left with a trail of shit so long, it would take the best man with the biggest shovel to finally get it right, and no one is going to do that in 4 years...........What about the way he is demeaned by our own people.....Can you imagine making comments about any other leader in this World, and getting away with it..................and they get away with it because its called Free Speech........It is a disgrace to our country...............I don't know why he even wanted the friggin job in the first place .....................althogh I truely believe he though he could make a difference............its sad..
-
It truly is sad ducky. Instead of coming together the politicians are driving the US apart and that's because they are becoming bolder in their name calling and getting away with it. They are talking about a fellow US citizen. Have they no pride? All in the name of "free speech". If you ask me, I would call that "hate speech".
-
Ducky, I always enjoy your posts.
Disclaimer in case my comment is read as suggesting that I am taking part in a political discussion in a way not in accordance with BCO rules: The political/current events discussion affects my mental/physical health in the following ways: it saddens me, which depresses my immune system.
Any political impasse could affect employment which could affect my friends on this thread, which could affect me. -
Blue..............your right, and there is more then 1 reason many including the political hacks were pissed he got the Presidency, and we all know why that is........................Some things never change, and will never change.,.................my feeling..........do a good job, and I don't care what party you are, how old you are, what race you are, or what the hell you do in your private life, when no one is looking.
Make my life better, make it a better more peaceful world, and take care of America..............that is all it is really about......................
Who in the line-up of Republicans the other night , looked or sounded like Presidential material................not a damn one of them......................they deserve each other.
-
The current situation saddens me too Athena .. and it has a direct effect on the well being of my family and my health. With unemployment at 24% in my community it has a direct effect on my family.
I hope Congress does the right thing and passes the Jobs bill.
Bren
-
BinVA.................congress will not do the right thing till they have someone of their choosing in the White House..............that is a fact...................although whatever they do, will be to benefit big business, not the middle income families which is most of the country.................we are the laughing stock of the World, and its sad..that Obama is taking the fall...............I still like him, and would vote for him again..................
