You know, he's figured it out. He is ALWAYS smiling!! Just like my DD was as a baby. He knows he gets a good reaction from people as a happy baby. At our house last week he fell (not badly) and had a bit of a cry but Mommy was holding him. I walked by and he reached out for me!!! Gave my heart a huge lift to know that he wanted me for comfort!! He has a hilarious sense of humour and has since he was about 6 months old. How do they know 'funny'???

Oh, Barbe!  Zach looks so happy, that is so wonderful!

So happy you have stopped in to sit for a spell, OG!  And so glad things are workign out for you.  I am back to work and feeling much better.  There is so much less stress which makes everything much easier to bear.

Mum, I hope you are able to relax a bit while at your parents.  I know time is nearing that I will be dealing with more parent issues.  DF is 81 and during my mom's illness this winter, he got a little testy.  I know a lot of it was the stress of seeing mom so sick. I will pray for stength for you, Mum.

3Jays, so glad we can have this connection through technology.

We went to Hawaii (Kona) in January, and had an awesome 9 days. thanks for the pic you posted, it brings me back there. I thought after our trip, this is going to be an awesome year. I even wrote in my journal. I will make this a positive journal, and keep the negative out, and I did, even when my journal turned into a cancer journey story starting April 11, 2011, with my pap apt,. I have encouraging scriptures all through the journal, during the first two scary months, of mamogram, ultrasound, biopsy, waiting for results, it's cancer, now what, two lumpectomies, get the port in and start treatment. When I am down, I go back through my journal, and see God , my family, and friends were lifting me up the whole way. Smile

Barb, your grandson is little Mr. Personaility! Cute! Little ones make the world fun. My two kids are in the twenties and aren't married yet...someday :)

Our school starts this week. There is so much to do and I am so unready for my classes. I've had such a busy summer and I'm frustred that I'm starting the school year with half finished projects. Plus, I'm three months past my annual mammogram. I haven't talked in a doctor in a few months. I'm getting letters from them to make an appointment, but don't have time to fit them into my schedule. I have so much on my mind right now that I come here sometimes to think about something other than what I should be doing. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed today.  Appreciate your prayers for a good week. Thanks

I believe it is Crassula perfossa Lamarck, common Names include: String of buttons, Necklace Vine.  There are so many varietie.

Evebarry, may God's peace go with you as you start the school year.

Sheila, So glad you are back safe and sound.

Zumba, so glad you were able to keep your journal positive so it can be of encouragement during your not-so-positive times.

Joni, the last cracked me up!!! Barbe: Zach is soooo cute. i know my GS has a wicked sense of humor; and he loves to "entertain".. they get it works , so they go with it. its' much nicer to deal with a sunny disposition...

Sat. nite, i finally got the grands. watched them while my DS&DIL went out for the 5th wedding anniversary. she's feeling so tired, chasing the two of them, she fell into bed right as soon as they got home.. at 1

am.. i was shocked to see them that early!!! im trying to talk my son into taking her out every wkend. they need the break, and i need the kids!!! im an niteowl, anyway. and after i puyt the kids and mur to bed, i read, or go online. so its a same night as ever for me.

i'm not feeling well, at all. can't seem to find a thryoid hormone supplement, that im not reacting to. i finally gave up today, and took the one that makes me sick. it beats the effects of no t4. more will be revealed..

this i think, is even more difficult for me than chemo was; and thats' saying something!! its' beginning to wear me down; and no social interaction doesn't help my mood! thats' why having the grands is so good.. hope we can work something out.......3jays

lynniea and 3 jays, I will pray that you soon are feeling much better, it is so tough to not be find the right med!

Eph, well the universe certainly has a sense of humor now doesn't it, I guess toilet paper does grow on trees :)

It is an interesting phenomena how some babies just have a sense of humor early on. Sam is a really happy baby too, and at 9 months likes to make funny noises and other little tricks to make us all laugh. Sure am glad I am home and not back in NY missing it all!

Okay, it's my turn to ask for prayer. I have 3 lymph nodes on my neck that have to be ultrasounded. I found one and my doc found two others when he felt around. Now the waiting begins. I have faith, but I'll take an extra prayer or two, please.

I will be happy to send some prayers up for you, Barbe.  You had eluded to something going on, I am glad you shared it so we can be specific in prayer.

Eph, when I married DH, DS3 was still at home and entering the 11th grade.  He went to a youth group meeting and met some kids as we had moved to the town DH lived in and he knew no one.  soon after, DH went out early one morning to find the yard strewn with TP.  He thought it was funny.  He said that was a sign of being acceoted and that people liked you.  DS, however, was angry that it made such a mess and immediately went out and took it all down, before the sun came up.

Several years ago I read or heard about finding pennies on the sidewalk.  It was said that whenever that person found one face up, they would say a prayer of thanks for pennies from Heaven because the face of the penny states "In God We Trust".  I think I immediately adopted that habit, although it is whenever I find any penny on the ground.  I find pennies almost every time I cross the parking lot at work when I go out and get the mail.  I have found that now, no matter if i find a penny or not, I take that time during the walk to talk to God.  It is amazing how repeating an action can become a habit.  I am thankful that I have developed this one.

I've been a little discouraged lately myself.  As I read the latest posts here, I see that I am not alone.  Barbe:  I will pray for you regarding the nodes in your neck and pray for the women here who have posted health concerns.  Since there are prayer requests being made, I would ask for prayer.  I have a new primary cancer in the left breast (a 1.0 cm IDC).  Met with onc last week who felt since I have bc in various other places in my body, leaving this one would be appropriate.  I am uncomfortable leaving it in, but met with a surgeon yesterday who is willing to remove it.  I have scheduled that to be done in two weeks.  Just have to get a chest x-ray first.  Like Meece wrote "In God We Trust."  Prayers for all of you.  "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God."  Jean

I like that Jean. I am a child of God.

Meece, I always find "pennies from heaven" and know that someone is thinking of me. I didn't know it had to be heads up as we have different coins in Canada. I just know that I am being watched.

I've heard that there is millions in pennies dropped on the ground all over America. One summer I started to count and got up to a couple of bucks in pennies and then gave up. It's a hard way to become a millionaire - I guess money isn't that important to me after all!

Thanks Mum, I do have an onc, but only see her once a year and it was a sub this year! My doc is annoyed that I am not being monitored properly but he is great and will order whatever he thinks I need. When I had my brain CT he put 'possible brain mets' on the form so I got a faster one! He's my biggest fan.
