Janis, we were the same until I got sick. I missed Monday and Tuesday's treatment, so you are now 2 ahead of me.

Sarah, we are still pretty close.  Guessing then I will finish just a tad earlier.  Hope you are doing well.  I have not had any problems so far.  I plan on keeping it that way!  Laughing

I am good after 8 treatments. Near my scar, my skin is a little pink, but outside of that I am doing very well, especially for extremely fair skin.

Help!  The itching is really bad today.  The hydrocortizone and Aquaphor is not helping.  What else have you used.  I have quite a nice red rash above my breast.  I have 3 weeks more to go.  I'd like to try to prevent any peeling.  ...any suggestions?

Catfin I used benadryl gel and also taking a pain med seemed to help.

Katfinn-I started peeling yesterday 8 days post rads. The area has been giving me trouble after finishing rads. It was so painful that Thursday I went in and they gave me some pain pills. By Saturday I was off them. Go figure.

For the itching this is what worked for me. I got perscription hydrocortisone cream (0.25% instead of the 0.1% that is over the counter), First I applied the lotion 2-3 coats, next a coat of hydrocortisone cream and let that soak in and finally I applied the aquaphor and topped it off with a t shirt that I am throwing out after treatment. I made sure that the aquaphor level was always thick. If I still itched I took a pain med like aleve or tylenol. Somehow this helped with the itching. Tomorrow after treatment I would ask to see the doctor and get a stronger prescritpion hydrocortisone cream and any suggestions. (After treatment they gave me a hydrogel dressing and mepliflex dressing that works great in keeping the aquaphor on the area and not soaking in my t shirt).  Just a FYI...the itching stops within 2-5 days of stopping treatment.

    Good luck.

Katfinn is the Hydrocortizone you are using over the counter or prescription? If it is over the counter ask your doctor for the prescription type which is stronger. A while ago I had a rash on my back that was very itchy. . My doctor gave me a prescription for Triamcinolone Acetonide cream, and it worked great. I asked my RO if I get itchy can I use that and he said it would be fine. Have you tried taking Benadryl pills over the counter? If that doesn't work ask your doctor for a prescription for the stronger Benadryl pills.

SAB - Three cheers to progress and moving forward!!  Laughing

#18 for me today.... Starting to notice some itchiness at the crease under my breast now and then.  Hoping it doesn't get more persistent, but I've been making note of your posts about the itch relief you've all used with much interest just in case.  Oh boy, just "talking" about it is making it itch!! What is up with that???  Power of persausion???  LOL

Merilee, thank you for the reminder the other day.  Very much appreciated.

    Have a GREAT Wednesday sisters!

Okay I am having kind of a creepy morning.  Leaving for rads in 15 minutes, hope they know what this is.

On my right side, radiation side, I started having a stabbing pain about an hour ago.  Felt fine earlier, took the dogs for a walk (no pulling, they walk well) then was home about 5 minutes and suddenly this sharp pain hit and nearly doubled me over.  It starts in my BACK.....like through my shoulder blade.  Then radiates into my chest.  Strange and creeping me out!  I cannot lift my right arm over my head without really bad pain.  I took a shower but could not even wash my hair.  If I sit still it is not bad, but as soon as I move it gets so much worse.  I am so perplexed by this......

Has anyone else experienced this?  Rads went fine yesterday and I have felt perfectly fine.  No falls, have done nothing to aggravate this area.

I am leaving and will let you know what I find out............

    Not liking this one bit!

    Janis,

if you cannot raise your arm over your head, they may not do your treatment today. I sure hope you are not getting an infection or anything!! Could it be a muscle spasm?

Had my last treatment today.  It was oddly emotional for me.  I guess they were happy tears, but I didn't feel all that happy, just relieved that this part of my treatment is finally behind me.  Thanks for all the support I've gotten from this thread - now I guess I will mosey on over to radiation recovery!

    Lynniea and Janis, feel better.

Lynniea, I'm on antibiotics and still managed to get a sore throat.  Doesn't seem fair, right?

Janis, Let us know...I hope it's something minor!

Hi ladies getting so close to the end, I think my last day is Sept 23.

Janis. yes I have gotten those stabbing pains too, god they hurt and wham just out of the blue, Onc says its just the body healing itself you have to remember we go in every day and they kill all the cells in our breast then our body once again has to rebuild them, its alot of work Im sure.

I am definelty blistering and peeling under my breast the nurse wraps it for me after treatment every day now so that helps alot. Also my  nipple and areaola is going brown and looks like it will peel too. Good grief hey lol.

On a positive note I coloured my hair dark brown last night with a Henna and spiked it into a little foehawk today and went with the lid Laughing

    Have a great afternoon girls

    Hugs Kymn

Radiation fatigue hit me today like a ton of bricks!  I could just fall asleep standing up!  Still nothing like chemo fatigue - more like I spent the day out in the sun and need a little nappy.

I'm off to my last full treatment and start boosts tomorrow!  The end is near - the end is near!

    Congrads Pat!!!!

Janis it will be interesting what the doc says. I am wondering if a muscle or nerve is irritated. Hope it goes away as fast as it came.

Everyone else the end is in sight!
