Merilee - you are the best! #25 for me today ... the end is definitely in sight!
-
Hi everyone,
I haven't posted for a while but have been following the board. Just wanted you to know that I am 6 days post rads completion and my energy level is back to what it was before treatment. For anyone feeling the fatigue now, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I have read that it could take 3-6 months for it to return. I wanted you to know that it could be a lot sooner...under 1 week.
I pray for all of you to have minimal SE and shorten hospital stays!
-
Bb226, I am glad that you are doing well. On which treatment did you first start feeling tired? Sarahbob I hope you are doing well this morning, and that you get to leave the hospital soon. Janis did your friend come yet? If so, I hope you are having a great time. This afternoon I will have my 7th treatment, and will have 13 left after that. I started feeling tired yesterday, but I don't know if it is from radiation, or if it is just the fact that I am not sleeping well right now. Since I am only having 20 treatments and more intense radiation than most of you, I will see side effects earlier than most of you.7 treatments for me is like 14 for you. As for skin side effects all I am noticing is my skin is a little darker in the area of my breast where my scar is.

Merilee, that picture is too cute!!! LOL. (((hugs))) for giving me a much needed chuckle. So happy this part of your journey is almost over. I'll be half way there after tomorrow's healing light! Headed to #16 now...

Hi ladies, 20 down today, only 8 more regular then 5 boosts and I am outta there
-
Kate - I started getting a little sore pink around #8-9 - coinciding with fatigue around #9-10. but it is different for everybody. I could sleep standing up today, but yesterday I was fine. Glad its almost quitting time, early bed for me, and still no power.
-
Ya I have loved my bed for the last week LOL
-
LOL Merilee, perfect! I am almost one fourth of the way there. I'll take that. Number 8 today went fine. Oh Merilee, I asked my doctor for that medication and he wrote me a script for the Lorazipam. He did say it will be better for sleep and should help with jsut some of my general anxiety issues right now. Thanks so much for suggesting it. I am sure it will help.
-
Finished my first one and now 29 to go. It went well very easy they said won't notice anything until about 2 weeks in.
-
Merilee, I have enjoyed your images (even the last one) so much! I'm happy for you, and will refer back to the images whenever I need one to hold on to!
-
Good Evening everyone... Merilee Congratulations!!! Can I be just a little jealous?
lynniea you will be ok. You just have to show up. LOL I will be thinking of you. I remember what your feeling very well. It does pass quicker then you think it will. The second week is when you might start feeling tired...
Good Luck to everyone I missed .
Kymm I know what your feeling I have blisters under my breast as well. They gave me lidocaine and radia guard Both work really well so you can keep the blisters numb. Hopefully we won't get anymore??? #11 more Rads to go. I am starting to see the little lite at the end of the tunnel. I will be thrilled to get this over with. Not b/c of pain. I just want a normal life again... BC will consume you if you let it. I hope everyone has a blessed day tomorrow. lisa

Hi pat01.
I am sorry you don't have power, must be sovery very aggravating. Thank you for letting me know about your tratments/
-
I had tratment #7 today. I have 8 more regular and 5 boosts to go. So far so good. The only side effect I notice is that my skin looks darker by my scar. Ladies be EXTREMELY careful about lorazipam. Yes it puts you to sleep like a baby, but it is very addicting, and has a lot of side effects. All I can do is warn you.
-
Well I had my last boost on Monday, so I am three days out. Still miserable with pain and itching more than anything. Breast, other than where boosts were, is slowly fading from red to pink and flesh in places, but sometimes the irritation is almost more than I can stand. Usually use the Nu gel sheets during the day (love that material science ) and then Aquaphor or something similar at night. I have been taking Klonipin -- not sure about spelling, might be with a C-- before bed since I first started chemo and through radiation. Mainly tylenol and Advil is what gets me through. It seems to be doing a better job lately, so maybe I'm getting better. Hope you all are too, and able to enjoy Labor day weekend with everyone you love.

Celebrating my last boost at 7:20 this morning
-
Congrats on your last one I am just starting #2 today. I hope everyone has a nice long weekend. so far so good.
-
Congratulations Merilee!!!! Big, big hugs! Oh that has to feel so good.
I will be careful Kate..like others have said, I should not be on it long enough to develop a habit.
My friend is here so I won't be around a lot, but wanted to wish everyone a wonderful day.
-
Merliee - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I'm going for #26 today - 2 more after today then Boosts. I am really sick of this ... but am SOOOO happy for a 3 day weekend! Enjoy!
-
Cheers Merilee! Celebration time!
I'm off for #20 today. Skin is barely pink and doing well. Definitely ready for a nice three-day weekend with my daughter and granddaughter!
-
Congrats Merilee! Janis, I hope you have a great time with your friend. I will have # 8 this afternoon, and have 7 regular and 5 boosts to go. I look forward to 3 days off to rejuvenate my skin!
-
being discharged this afternoon, after my rads tx. I might as well stick around until then, since I am already here. Besides, if I go home now, I'd have to fix my own lunch. LOL! The cultures have not grown anything, so the final diagnosis is a seroma with cellulitis. I will keep the drain for several weeks, or until there is ZERO drainage. Oh fun.....NOT! LOL! Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes!
-
Merilee: Congratulations! Thank you for all the support you have given to everyone on both the chemo and rads forums. I hope you enjoy visiting your daughter.
-
Sarabob, I am so glad that you are going home today!
-
How many of you heard me peeling out of the treatment center parking lot this morning?
So HAPPY to be done!
-
Looks like I was caught on film LOL

Merilee
Here is your graduation drink... A topical drink for your Hawaiian tan/burn! MamaV I have yours chilling for next week.
Everyone have a great Labor Day weekend. Enjoy the extra day off from rads.
-
I had # 8 today with 7 regular and 5 boosts to go. I am so happy that my skin is holding up well, even though I am very fair with very sensitive skin. I use Udder cream, which my doctor recommended, and it is only $6 at CVS, and might be cheaper at Trader Joe.
