Yikes! If refusing to waste time reading Rick Perry's book is grounds for reporting, I'm in trouble.

Had the ritual deli dinner with my SO's family tonight (we never eat deli food in NYC, only when he's here in Detroit - go figure.) I have to take him to the airport tomorrow morning (sniff). From there, it's back downtown for the Labor Day parade and the President's appearance. Yep, I'm excited!

As for drinking . . . I did pound down a lemonade with my pastrami sandwich. And my BIL was hitting the ginger ale big-time. I think there were a couple of iced teas on the table as well. And this is shocking, I know, and maybe I shouldn't admit it, but my 82-year-old MIL had a glass of Pinot grigio.

Just got a message back from the Moderators. Issue taken care of. Apparently, someone I sent  PM to may have accidentally hit the "report as spam" button.

Mary, glad that's all it was. Pretty impressive that the mods got back to you so quickly - and on a holiday weekend, too.

It's kind of creepy how closely our posts here are followed "over there". Yes, it was an accident, Shokktoo. How long until I get a nasty nickname?

It amazes me how conservatives who rammed respecting the president down my throat when Bush was in office can come up with such vile nicknames for Obama. Owevomit-really???? That's really showing respect.

Edited to add: I'm predicting my post gets reported, so better read it while you can. Tongue out

I read it and screen-shotted it, Mary.  ;-)

I just opened a bottle of 2011 G2.  "Fruit Punch" flavor.

    Hello Yes and No folks,

Several of you have been my “friends” ever since my family member was dx with bc 4+ years ago.  Some of you have said very needed, encouraging things over the years, and I am exceedingly grateful for that, especially to BinVa and Blue (you may recognize me from my comments some time ago elsewhere; I am attracted to parody).  I also am fond of Shokk (who also seems to have liked parody) and Shirley (I travel to the beach frequently and always look to the right as I enter town and wish her well).  I also love Sunflowers as she lives close to where my mom grew up and where I spent some wonderful summer times, despite my southern accent being laughed at.  (My Mom married a cute Southern guy who grew up not far from Bren’s VA fields.).

I just wanted to let you all know that when you post to each other, you are posting to me too.  And probably to a lot of other people.  I feel included and thankful.

    Love,

    TheLorax

Screen-shat?  Screen-shatted?  It's tough making up words and verb-itizing them.

Didn't we have this verb discussion yesterday? I think the proper past tense is "screen-shot". If you were just saying shoot, you would say shot, as in "I shot the rubberband at my brother."

I believe we settled it but I think the one who does the screen shooting? shotting? can use the terms she wants

I wasn't correcting her-I was answering her question about it and then she deleted her post.

Mary, it just seems like the past tense should be more...I don't know...special.

Hi Lorax, and welcome.  Thank you for the lovely post.

Thanks Rosemary. I know I'm a member of the grammar police but I am not that bad!

I have a weird sense of humor too. Sometimes it's hard to put my humor into writing.

And I didn't shoot the screen, I made a screen shot.  Maybe that's the answer - I made a screen shot.  Perhaps it can't be verbified, tagline notwithstanding.

You only shoot the screen if you want a new computer.

Two things - I've had 3 glasses of wine in the last year. None, while on this thread. However, that is not a promise that I won't have 6 glasses one night and come on here and PUI. The other is about proper usuage of screen shot. My SIL had a hole in one yesterday. One of the guys he was playing with took a pic of him holding the flag and send to my DD. She replied  - "Holy shit". Her spell checker changed her reply to "Holy shot". We thought that was appropriate, also.

Happy rest of the long weekend to all of you. You're great!

No, Blue, I am not Charlie, but I loved Cy, too.

You are such a gifted and apt warrior.

Well, I'm in trouble - I really did drink a bit too much the other night - hope I don't get reported.

It's raining - welcome to Scotland - I think yesterday's weather was put on just for us - lovely sunny day - thank you Nessie.

We're off to a tiny village on the west coast. The B&B looks across to Skye - the owner sounds really nice - hope it's better than here. I swear this place was made for midgets - tiny towels, small bed, very small shower, but a nice big room - go figure.

DH is learning what type of whisky to drink :) Got a great card last night that explains how to decide which one is right for you - I bet he has to taste a lot to figure it out.

Sue, There are three Costcos in Australia; in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.  I guess Brisbane will get one some time.  I'm too far away to use any as the membership means I can't just shop there casually on the odd occasion I'm in the area.

Wondering why BCO hasn't been able to stop the hysterical ones from attacking their organization.  Maybe if we don't do anything, which is what I'm doing this time, it will go to one star, and somebody at the site will wake up to the performance.

Spooky that women with BC would be so derailed, as to get hysterical about a bunch of good women who appreciate their doctors, respect each other, and have read Emperor of All Maladies - and are grateful for the work research has produced to save our, and our loved ones lives.

AND, this seems to be the deepest criticism, respect the President of the United States.

Happy to stand firm with this group of "warriors."  Dr. Seuss did create some interesting characters.  Prefer them in their original form, but to each her own.

    Anybody seen Athena????
