Watermelon Radish - looks yummy!

-
lol blue! Love the photo of the cat....that picture of the watermelon radish looks yummy!
I am off to have some chinese food with one of my DD. She had a shitty day--no pun intended enjoyful!--so I figured going out for some good, but greasy, Chinese food may make her feel better.
Will be back later....I have decided that I have been away from this thread for too long. I have to take advantage of the weekends to catch up with all of you.
-
Three things, which I will say vertically for added effect:
1. Drinks tonight are
on the Lioness -
remember, so be generous
bartender.
2. I had a hellish
week, simply because
insanity isn't easy.
3. I forgot what three was -
gosh, I thought I had already lost my mind,
so what can I blame this
memory lapse on?
Let's drink to good health. Haven't had that in ages, want it more than anything!
Cheers.
And I apologize that I cannot comment and chit chat that well right now. I ordered some cheeses and cold meats with the drinks, so dig in, everyone. The really big meat chunk is for me :-)
-
No worries Athena. Relax and enjoy the long weekend. We're staying put this weekend....lots to do around the house.
Mary, the pic of the cat has some symbolism attached to it. It's a disclaimer, just in case! Seems like I get blamed for everything.
-
Athena .. that sounds wonderful .. I'm hungry. Haven't had any cheese in a long time and I think it will be perfect tonight. I'm sorry you had a rough week .. hopefully you can rest up and rejuvenate this weekend.
Blue .. we're staying put this weekend too. Tim made it as far as IL tonight and said the traffic is already horrendous. We're going to bbq when he gets home on Sunday and again on Monday. I'm stoked cause I won't have to cook!
Mary .. Chinese food sounds really good too. Nice you can spend the time with your daughter.
hugs,
Bren

I do believe that cat (categorically denying all allegations) is a Russian Blue!
-
Ann, a fat cat Russian Blue! hehehehe! Couldn't find an Italian one.
Bren, Ray is taking a week's holidays week after next so we will be going a few places then.
-
A Russian Blue/Scottish Fold mix IMO! Check the ears. He's a beauty!
Athena -- Relax, sweetie. Cooler weather is in store for next week.
Mary -- don't forget to get doggie bags; you'll be hungry later!
-
(Other) Mary-good to see you back!
Good news-my husband and I are taking a very last minute trip to Las Vegas next week. I hope I win BIG and can retire(ha-ha!)
Bad news-I woke up this morning with a stupid bladder infection and spent my morning at the doctor's. Oh well, at least I got it now, and not while I was on my trip.
I'm having my usual margarita...not sure how it will mix with the Cipro.....
Mary
-
Mary .. yay for Vegas and yucky on the bladder infection. I'm sure the margarita will make the Cipro go down much better. Will you be in Vegas the weekend all the gals are going from BCO?
hugs,
Bren
-
Bren-I'll be there next Tuesday-Friday. I don't think that's when the gals from BCO are there.
It was such a last minute decision to go. My husband already had vacation scheduled for next week, and I don't go back to work until the 12th. My husband kind of half-way joked, "We should go to Vegas." I looked online and found a deal where we get airfare and 3 nights at the Monte Carlo for less than $300 each. Plus free brunch buffet everyday. Couldn't pass it up!

That cat is Russian? Commie Cat! Should have guessed. Those radishes are beautiful.
-
HAHA! Commie Blue Fat Cat!
-
A commie and a Democrat. Wait, are those the same?
-
Alpal - Commie Cat?
You gave me a much needed laugh.Athena - I am so with you on the drinks and MEAT! A long island ice tea could be really nice right now.
DH is not hungry so I am not cooking dinner tonight. I will save the stuff for tomorrow night instead. In fact he is upstairs in bed watching TV - I should join him for a while and be back later on when he has fallen asleep.
Mary - have fun in Vegas! I was supposed to go with DH to Elko, NV next week overnight but can't since I am now scheduled for a Nuclear Stress Test. I was really hoping to hit the penny slots.
The group from BCO is going to Vegas Sept 30 - October 3 - I think those are the dates. We go on Friday and return home on Monday. I might be off by one day. Too lazy to look it up.
-
Thanks for the pics Blue, the ones I have are smaller, and the inner pink is more, well, a lighter pink, not as regular along the edges - and they are sweeter, and lovely to look at in salads. I also LOVE nasturtium flowers in salads too.
Athena, take good care of yourself, hope the 3 day weekend beings you a sense of well being. Also good weather, which always helps.
Commie Cat - purrfect.
-
Plant the corn? Again? When will it ever end?
-
ahhhh, thanks everyone!
Mary and Jancie, I hope you win big!
Athena, I hope you have a good weekend ((((HUGS)))))
Blue, I know you are innocent! Love the blue commie cat!
the Chinese food was excellent, and DD is feeling better...so YAY!!
-
Checking in for another double and night night. Bad bad week. I hate my job.
-
Blue, with Commie Cat in your Corner, you can't be blamed for anything
We all declare you Not Guilty, of whatever is being cooked up, or thrown up,( consider the source) and I hope it's a lovely weekend for all. Early night - sweet dreams all.
-
((( Barbara )))
-
(((((Barbara)))))) I am here if you need some company drinking those doubles!
I can't say I hate my job but I can say I am so done with being a stepmom!
Yesterday DH made a comment about the outside cat whining and whining. I responded "could be your son hasn't fed her" DH's response "Oh, I talked to him about it over the phone and he said he had"
I am standing there thinking "ok, the boys lies and instead of checking up on the cat, you are being lazy and you really want to stick your head in the sand"
I didn't say a word.
Today same thing - cat is crying and howling and whining. Again DH tells me that he talked to his son and his son swears that he watered and fed his cat.
A couple of hours later I decide to check up and find that the cat has NO FOOD AND THE WATER IS CONTAMINATED. And when I say contaminated, it was orange in color due to food sitting at the bottom of it for how many days? There is a pink ring at the water level and the water is WARM.
I went downstairs and just said "FYI, Lucy's water is contaminated and she has no food" and I left to go back upstairs and take care of the cat because said cat should not suffer because his 16 year old kid is totally irresponsible.
DH comes upstairs - luckily I had not thrown out the water yet so I showed it to him.
I was gone when his son got home but I could hear DH raising his voice, next thing I know DH has the bedroom door closed and his son is laying on his bed (sleeping). DH tells me he needs space. No problem - more time for me to BCO

The kid is irresponsible because DH doesn't give him ANY consequences, none, zilch, zero. I guess this time he might have gotten one - not for forgetting to feed the cat but for lying. Personally I would give him a consequence for not taking care of his cat but dh won't do that and so said stepson doesn't care.
-
And what ticks me off? DH is so quick to come to the rescue of his son if his son is hungry and believe me I have plenty of stories on that one. Me....the kid is 16 and can take care of himself. The cat on the other hand needs assistance! However, DH isn't concerned too much about the cat.
-
Jack Sock playing Andy Roddick now. There are many puppet jokes on the net. Is he playing himself?
-
Can I get anyone another drink?
-
Sunflowers hahahahahaaha!
Cherryl, 2's my limit!
Night all.
-
I'll have a bucket of beer please.
-
Another double, please.
Jancie, been there done that. Had a step daughter who had no clue about consequences. Sorry to tell you this but it ended bad.
Another double please. -
Barbara - I have nightmare stories about the stepdaughter but thankfully she is 19 and we are no longer legally liable for her.
Can I have another long island ice tea Please!
