I Come to the Garden...

I want to say welcome and peace to you Grimbol!
What beautiful pics today! I love the deep pink in your sedum Meece. I do not have much of a lawn left. I build little flower beds everywhere. Took a pic of the outside from a 2nd floor bedroom. Between the love for God and the love for creation, this thread seemed like a perfect fit for me. Bless you all.

The pics are all fab today-Mum, love the one with the boats & has Faith&Fifty seen that daisy field? WOW
-
Padiddle, in what part of the country do you live? Your garden is so green and lush!
I can imagine the aroma of walking through the field of daisies and feeling them brush against my legs. Very peaceful!!!
-
You would think the sheer color would be enough for us to marvel at, but He made the tiniest detail in the tiniest flowers...
-
Has anyone read the post from the moderators "My Spiritual Journey with Breast Cancer?" It's very good. The Sister wrote something like: I am dying to live, and living to die. That sentence really touches me, deeply. Time to ponder. Jean
Meece: I live in New Hampshire.
-
Jean- What a beautiful garden! It must be a lot of work, but so worth it I imagine!

-
absolutely gorgeous pics, ladies.. i love the boats on the water, esp. have to get sedum for the garden, now. all succulents do well in so fla..
question for you techies.. i would love to save some of the hyms that are printed out. my computer won't copy paste words, only pics.. any ides? i have windows 7; but no word installed yet...???? 3jays glad we're back to normal!!!
-
Thank you Padiddle,
I did have chemo number 5 of 6 today, and tonight I have already lost the taste on my tongue, and I am super sleepy, probably going to head to bed in a minute zzzzzzzzzzz
-
3jays, if you are running windows, there should be a program in "accessories" called Wordpad. To copy, try to highlight the words by clicking righ before the first word you want then hold the shift key down and then left click after the last word you want. This should highlight the whole text. Now, either place the cursor over the highlighted text and a box will appear where you can copy text and click copy. Go into wordpad and right click in an empty page and click on paste. You can also use the control and c keyss to copy text you have highlighted, to paste use control and v keys.
If that doesn't work, maybe we could email them to you.
Sedum is a great groundcover, and yes, drought tolerant.
-
Zumba girl, you tickle me. I remember after one of my chemos I was so sleepy I went straight to bed. My friend called me and asked if I was busy and when I said I had been sleeping she seemed shocked. So I looked at the clock and saw it was 8:00. I panicked and jumped out of bed and told her I was late for work...then I realized it was 8 PM! The Benedryl really kicked me. I hated my tounge getting it's tasting messed up, too.
-
I`m amazed!! This is my first summer at this place and saw the sedum blooms in my own garden yesterday and marveled at them. Then I come here and see them again!! LOVE that kind of synchronicity!!
3jays, I`m like you! I have no word program and had to go buy one. Everyone insists our computers MUST have one, but I only have a trial for Microsof Office which I don`t want to pay for. I went to Staples and got Wordperfect for HALF price!! It`s school time, so those kind of programs are on sale. Word pad is just a temporary spot. As soon as you copy and paste a picture, it`ll wipe out your words.
-
Mum, I LOVE the depth of field you`re getting by using portrait settings!!! And padiddle, what a great close up!! LOVE it!!
-

I took this picture in my greenhouse yesterday. Aren't the the flowers adorable?
-
And here is a second picture to put it into size perspective.

-
how adorable, tiny little things!
Barbe: mur works at the college. im gonna have him ck it out today. they just started the new session.. i don't have any frills on this, but i sure AM grateful for it!!!!3jays
-
Amazing how a computer can keep you involved even when you aren't feeling weel enough to go out much.
-
I 'go out' on my computer. No need to leave the house!
-
yup. i haven't slept in over 26 hrs. i 'd lose my mind if i couldn't get out here....3jays
-
Goodmorning All!
Love all the pics! What kind of plant is that Meece?
Anyone have any exciting plans for Labor Day Weekend?
Have a wonderful day
-
Oh 3Jays you need to sleep.
I am flying in to Thunderbay this weekend to see my parents.Lord give me strength. My father is 84 and is always flying off the handle about nothing. But he is caring for my Mom whis is 82 and suffering from Alzheimers. My DH doen't like all the stress I am under when I visit so I haven't seen them since my daughters wedding last June.Hope to find them some more in house help for them while I am there. My father has real trust issues with everyone he doesn't know.Between that and his temper it is so hard to find someone willing to put up with him.

-
Stopping by to see how you dear ladies are...beautiful pics! We all need to get out and enjoy the sunshine, and take time to smell the roses. It's beautiful outside where I live. Summer is ending, and soom enough it's too cold for those long walks or the 15 minutes in the sun

-
Mum, your Mom and Dad would be eligible for some government services that provide respite for your Dad to go out and about while someone looks after your Mom. Should she be in a home? Can you get your Dad on some meds. It must be SO hard for him!! Here he is of an age that HE wants to be taken care of and he has the hardest duty of all. Much love,
-
I have only read and prayed here at the Garden, and since I feel like I know many of you lovely women I thought I would come and sit for a while, the flowers are so beautiful. Meece you advised me last year to quit my horrible but great paying job and I did and I have never been happier living back in Omaha. I get to see my DD and 9 month old grandson as often as I like. I am taking a nurse refresher course to reinstate my license and will soon go back to work. I have to go back to Sloan on the 13th for another MRI, please keep me in your prayers as there are 3 areas that they are watching and I don't want anymore biopsy's.
I hope everyone has a relaxing weekend, I am keeping the baby all weekend and I hope I don't run out of energy before Monday
I thought I would share my families childhood prayer:Gentle Jesus at thy knee, a little child looks up to thee,
keep me in your star shine and make a lovely heart of mine,
and when you want me for your own, lead me safely to your throne'
I can't wait to teach it to Sam
Love and Hugs to all,
Linda
-
