    Love the pics Blue.

I woke up singing America by Simon & Garfunkel - I want to stay here so we can go and see those guys again on Sunday.

Hop on hop off bus today for us. I'm in a fair bit of pain with this pinched nerve - got to find some panadol soon.

{{{Susie!}}} Pain is no good on vacation!

Yes, the BCO B&G bartender really helped us tie one on last night but I am game for a Dewars at 3, Athena. Heck, make it one and we'll get an early start to the long weekend.

E, glad you are doing OK except for the evil Arimidex.

Laughing so hard at the pictures that I nearly spewed my coffee! That one with Powell and bush is priceless!

So, that's what I love about this place...laughter to temper the tears. Gracie, I'm thinking of you and mulling the quality vs quantity of life and end of life issues. Quantity is no good without quality. Make the best of every moment you have with your family. We're with you, even if you're not posting here. Feel the vibes.

Happy Friday, gang. If you find whoppee cushions under your seat at the B&G, well, I might be the jokester...

Oh, LOVED the pic of Powell, thanks Blue.

Get ready for a rant. The main highway, I-91, connecting CT & VT/NH, runs up the width of MA, is partly closed, and will be for some time, and that's not the worst of what the towns along the Deerfield, Millbrook, Westfield, Connecticut rivers are experiencing - to those who thought this storm was "hyped" - I say, ( as JFK did in 1961, in a different place) Let them come to New England!  Fields are covered with feet of silt, farms destroyed, cities still cut off, bridges destroyed, devastation, and people are working to put their lives back together.

    Thank you Paul Krugman:http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/02/opinion/krugman-eric-and-irene.html?_r=1&hp

Hope all have a lovely sunny day - the leaves are already falling here, but at least it's DRY Smile

    Morning All!

Athena .. hope you were able to sleep last night.

Susie .. hope you get some relief from your pain today.

Sunflowers .. we're losing our leaves too.  I think it's because of the dry summer we've had.  My heart goes out to all those folks still suffering from Irene.

Hope everyone has a really good day!

thanks girls - got some panadol but  I'm worried I'm doing damage not getting it seen to. I don't trust anyone but my physio. The bus thing was good - went to the Art Gallery. I've got DH liking impressionists!! We saw a Da Vinci today. Also got off at the National Museum but I didn't like it - strange layout. The British Museum was better.

All is going according to plan. I'd arranged for this company called CarryMyLuggage.com to pick up the golf clubs to be delivered to our son in London. Just asked the Aussie girl on the desk and they have been collected!!!! Clever Susie!!!

I do like it here - I can still hear the bagpipe dude - he must play every day. We got a shot of our hotel from the lower road - we are up high!!!. Also got some great shots of the castle from lower down. How they ever built these things is beyond me.

We get te hire car tomorrow and off to Loch Ness to find Nessie

    Susie sounds like great fun.

Here is my boss rant: I had a boss who was the son of the owner. He was a real a-hole and although I was a salaried employee, I actually clocked in and out every day and kept my time cards. When raise time came, he tried to tell me I didn't put enough time in so I told him to hold on, went to my desk, got the timecards and plopped them on his desk along with my letter of resignation informing him I was taking my two weeks vacation effective immediately. Two weeks later I read in the paper that he ran into a tree and was killed instantly. I felt guilty for having a "Couldn't have happened to a more deserving &^%$" moment.

Head Bartender here: The BCOB&G is now open 24 hours, because it's always 5:00 somewhere.

Athena, darn you for having the drinks tested. I was jut feeling generous. You know, there is so much love in my heart and I want everyone to be happy!

Cherryl, when I say I informed the "authorities" do not assume I mean the police. I meant the "proper" authorities - the ones that say: "This place spikes it's drinks - let's go in for some fun!"

Hurrah for the 24 hour change!

Sorry to hear that Barbara - do you prefer to be called Barbara or Barb?

My actual job is a good one and one that I enjoy. I just have a small picture person for a supervisor.

Cherryl - you know I'm joking all the way, right? In fact, I'm "messing with you" because initially the joke was that I had called the police, then I backtracked and pretended I had summoned the bar mavens/drink critics.

BCO B&G does get periodically raided, but usually for no good cause. Mostly trolls. :)

Wow!   Since last Thursday we've gotten a new cat a new car and had our septic tank pumped. I have been out every night this week, looking at cars, going to a Church function, going out to eat with my son and DH. I am not cooking tonight so another restaurant meal (not complaining.) I told my kids to come over Sunday or Monday because tomorrow I want to be lazy.

I have been off Femara for about a month and can't believe the energy I have or how good it is not to ache all over all the time. My heart really goes out to everyone who has to be on it, whether for 5 years or for life. I am even more sure of my decision to get off it early now, what with the other things going on in my body. But if I did not have a comorbidity I would have gutted it out for the 5 years.

I hope in 10 years or so people look back at all the cancer treaments now and say they are barbaric because that means there willl be something better then.

Barbara .. what a story about your old boss!  I have lots of stories of crazed and hateful bosses when I worked in HR for a huge company.  Needless to say .. all those nasty bosses are gone now, and most were fired.  Kharma is a bitch.  And they got what was coming to them.

Chaplain .. thanks for keeping the Bar & Grill open.  I could really use a hot cup of coffee about now ... starting to run out of energy.

Rosemary ... you have sure had a busy week!  Wow!  It's wonderful that you are feeling your energy return.  My hat is off to all the gals that stick with their AI's, cause I wussed out and quit taking them.

Athena .. great to hear that your supervisor is a good one.  I think the best supervisors are the ones that give you a task and leave you alone.  I had a very high strung boss once who liked to throw things at me.  Like his phone or keyboard, whatever was handy.  It's a wonder the guy didn't stroke-out.

What's everyone doing for the long weekend?

PiP - I'm not hung over, most definitely not hung over.  I'm just trying to get some work done around the house.  Don't worry, I'm always monitoring my home thread with my finger on the "screen shot" button.  Sometimes I screen-shot for no particular reason.

Rosemary - I'm so glad you feel better!  One day I hope to get off of the hated Arimidex, but I don't expect that'll be any time soon.  In the meantime, Celebrex and Vicodin are my buddies.  And yes, I exercise daily but it doesn't help.

For the long weekend I get to visit with HL!  Yay!

A question for you grammar mavens:  If I use screen-shot as a verb, would the past tense be screen-shotted?  Screen-shat?  Screen-shooted?

I love my grammar, but I don't know what it would be Enjoyful?  I do like screen-shooted though, because I like to shoot stuff.

E, tell HL I said HI and give her a gentle hug!

Rosemary, you have indeed had a  busy week. Whew. But love your littie.

    E, I vote screen shooted.

Well, screen-shooted wasn't one of the options, but I'll take it under consideration.  Laughing

E - I believe the correct term would be screen-shot for the past tense.

Gracie - thinking about you and praying for you.  Sorry to hear about the mets.

Pip - love the mini horses.  Ok, don't get mad at me but I was at a barn in North Dallas and we had two mini's there.  My trainer couldn't stand them because all they did was bite the horse's necks so in her mind the only thing they were good for was to kill them, stuff them, and use them as saddle racks.

Susie - love to hear the updates on  your travel.

Blue - hope you are feeling well today.

Ok, I know I forgot to write to many of ya'll in particular but once again I am playing catch up and my brain can only remember so much at one time.

Jazzy's eye was swollen shut when I got to the barn yesterday.  The replacement manager (my trainer is at Regionals in Colorado) did not bother to call me or the vet.  Ends up that Jazzy has scratched her cornea but not too bad and I have to put eye medication in that eye daily for the next two weeks.  I called the vet at 2 pm and she was at the barn by 6 pm.

I went to the cardiologist today - I am scheduled for a nuclear stress test.  The heart muscle damage was either caused by chemo or my smoking - don't know which and he wants to make sure my arteries are not clogged.  I am getting the test next Wed.  So that was this morning and now in an hour I have an appt with my GP that will take 3 hours so I am off running again.

This thread moves so fast when I am not at home playing on my computer all day long.

Hope ya'll are having a great day - oh and I hope that Libby is doing well.  E - give us an update.

Rosemary - so good to hear how GOOD you feel without the AI.  It gives me something to look forward to , tho I know I'll be on it for a lot more than the 5 years...

told my onc that stoping it feels like playing Russian Rouette with 5 bullets - just terrifying - but it's the lack of ENERGY that gets me the worst...

Thanks, Bren!  I am teaching three Intro to College English courses and a post-intro course.  I have some great students, but it is a very long week with lots of preparation and correcting.

On a happier note, it is sunny and warm here.  My kitties are sleeping on the couch next to me, and I am having my vodka tonic -- thanks bartender!
