Janice, I don't think I have seen too many bucking dressage horses. 

Rosemary - cats are too funny.  It took Cody and Sadie about 2 weeks before they would be in the same room.  They rarely spend time together as Cody would much rather snuggle up with the dogs.  I hope Bubba and Baxter become really good friends.

Anne - on the calendar issue all I can say is WOW!!!

I have seen limited TV on the Irene coverage and the devastation as I haven't been home much but what I have seen is just devastating.  I have HLN on right now to get the latest updates but probably will need to switch over to CNN.

Sunflowers - I wish we had such a program here.  We do have farmer's markets every weekend which I go for fresh produce but to go out and pick the crops?  I would just love to do that.

Pip - Jazzy is just full of piss and vinegar.  If anything she is making me a much better rider as she is so difficult at times.  I am working on taking all of that "energy" and have it work for us in a positive manner.  It took some time but Jazzy and I have a wonderful rider/horse bond going.  At any time she could dump me in the ground but she doesn't want to - she is now protecting me so I have more trust in her.  Maybe she figured out that when I broke bones she would have to deal with the trainer working her instead of me.

I am going to finish cleaning my house this morning and then head out to check on my horse. 

Janice, it is so true.  My daughter loved getting a horse full of piss and vinegar.  You certainly do learn a lot when your life is at stake!  Me...I'd rather watch someone else ride the horse full of piss and vinegar.  Very entertaining, but a true art for the one who can master the beast.  I don't think most people understand how good you have to be to do dressage.  You riders make it look so easy. 

I understand why they are callous about FEMA ... I don't like it but I 'get' their mindset ... it is becoming more obvious every day.  They don't believe in 'community' or helping your fellow man.  They want every man for himself, dog eat dog, survival of the fittest.  The sick and the poor and the unlucky should just suffer and even die silently and not ask for any help from them ... be it FEMA or healthcare.  (With exceptions for when something affects them personally of course ... then they are right there grabbing everything they can get whether they need it or not.)   What a bleak, ugly, cruel country they would create.  But they expect to be on top of the heap so they don't care.  It makes me sick. 

And since this hurricane hit the northeast instead of the south where their supporters tend to be they feel free to crap all over this disaster.

This hurricane caused so much damage over such large areas it's hard to tell from the news coverage exactly where all the damage is.  Multiple towns flooded and roads completely gone ... it is horrible and way beyond the ability of any local community to deal with on their own.  Glad to hear from Sunflowers that FEMA is stepping up to the plate and getting relief to people quickly! 

Cats are contrary creatures sometimes   My mother did not particularly like cats but we always had them because I did.  And yes ... almost every cat we had would insist on being her buddy.  The won her over in the end though so I guess they knew what they were doing.

This thread moves so fast ... I can't keep up with everybody quickly enough to comment but it is always a treat to come read what everybody has to say.    

WR -- It's inherent in cats to be idolized.  When they are not, it's an affront, and must be corrected!  My neighbour in Toronto was fearful of cats, and of course when she came over, they gravitated to her, rubbing up against her legs and meowing "Why don't you like me?  I'm so beautiful?  I'll win you over somehow!"  And they did!

Okay, you have motivated to me.  When dh is able I will have him show me how to post pics.

I'm having a nice hot cup of coffee from the Bar&Grill.  Would probably be even better with a shot of Kahlua in it!  It's been a frustrating day for me.  This whole website thing is making me so upset.  I can't figure anything out!  I'm not going to try to create my own again .. been there done that.  When Tim called I was about in tears.  He has a close friend who does websites and he said he'd talk to him this weekend when he gets home.  He told me to just let it go for a few days.

It couldn't believe how much it can cost.  Anywhere between $700 and $2,500.  I need the site to be searchable so people looking for transcription work can find me.  arghh.  My target group is psychologists who do psycho-ed testing, although I can do most any kind of medical transcription.

Oh well .. hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Hi Blue .. I used godaddy last year and built a website, but for some reason it didn't show up on google.  Even when I bought the ads thing.  I finally just gave up.  But my family has been pushing me to try again, and I need someone to do it for me this time so it will show up on google. 

It's just beyond my expertise.  And it's incredibly frustrating.

Pip .. Pizza sounds good!  Hope your DH can figure out how to do the pics with a Mac .. it's way beyond me!

Dh is a computer programmer.  He had better know how!

Hi all! Been a while since I checked in. Found out I now have mets to my adrenal gland. Can't even begin to tell you what a nightmare the symptoms of that have been!. My husband's typing for me, can't do it anymore. Hope everyone is well. Wish I felt good enough to keep up with everyone. Hope to feel well enough soon to come back and find out what's going on in everyone's lives.

Gracie .. I'm so happy to see you.  And I'm so sorry about the mets on your adrenal gland.  That sucks big time.  I wish you felt better too, but I'm glad your hubby was typing for you.
