I have a 'Lucy' but she's a Yorkie. Cute as the dickens.
Otter I hear ya....Mom's 90 in July and we are trying to keep her at home. We have someone come in mornings and night. Meals on Wheels every day and of course she hates them and throws most out. I deal with a sibling who doesn't always cooperate. So at my retired age I still feel like a kid that gets pushed around. When March comes and I leave for 4 weeks I don'r even care what happens here. I have to push it out of my mine to keep my sanity.
I'll have to figure out how to post pictures on here. Any suggestions?
Edited to say....WINE every day is GOOD for us!!!
-
I hope it is.

LOVE our barcat - and otter, those testicles, do they come marinated or fried?

Artsee -- to post pictures here they need to be hosted somewhere else in the web. If they are, I can usually just copy and paste -- but if that doesn't work, there's also an icon of green tree in the "Post a Reply" box (just left of the
). Click on the green tree, and enter the URL of the image where it says URL.(to find the URL of the image, I right-click on the picture, then click "Properties", which gives you the URL, and then I copy the URL)

Ooh Ducky, LOVE a massage! You lucky!
All right chill time for me. Lucy and I are sipping ice wine. Well she actually has a little catnip she is rolling in. Have a great evening all. -
Baxter went to the vet today. He has an ear infection and we have to give him drops. Whoppee!!
I was going to comment on our visitor last night but that is not worth the effort. -
hillck - have you tried Valerian Root for a sleeping aid? I get it at the nearest health food store. It's homeopathic - a few drops under your tongue, or a few drops in water - no "hangover" no SE's - I don't ususally have trouble sleeping ( I sometimes have trouble staying awake!) but if , when I do, it's a great help.
eta: welcome to New England http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/08/30/vermont.town.flooding/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 Bet they'll have thiings open in time for the "leaf peepers."

Hi Cindy .. glad you were able to sleep last night. I take Lunesta for sleep most nights.

Thanks Sunflowers, now I know where Vermont is. I try to look up US states and different countries when they're mentioned to increase my geographical knowledge which is sadly lacking. It helps to associate a place with someone I know.
Anne, there's no way you look that heavy in your photo, wow... I imagine you have a lot of muscle. I'm 133lbs and 5'1 and have lots of fat and little muscle. My sister who's the same height looks much slimmer than me when she's the same weight. I can exercise but it doesn't seem to help. I need to get down to 120 to look reasonable and fit into most of my clothes. I finally got motivated to reduce my weight this week. It's more about mind set than anything else for me and I'm feeling optimistic. I just love the feeling of being slim and energetic.
-
Joy -- I don't know if AnneW mentioned her weight -- if you're thinking of my weight, well -- let's just say I don't think I'd be a very profitable cover girl for that calendar!

-
Oops, yes I did mix you up, I'll have to watch names more closely. I had to convert from Kgs to lbs so lbs don't mean much to me. I'm 60.5 Kgs.
-
Cindy, I agree with you. Those two, among others, really piss me off. I can't imagine anyone with any intelligence voting for these wingnuts.
-
Cindy -- good idea! (and hadn't heard the "instant water" remark -- that's a good one, too)
-
Ann, you're up late tonight.

Trying to put in a picture

-
Ok, 2 years later and I finally understand how to insert a picture! Yes, I am a true blonde!
-
And you wonder why I had 7 fractures last year?

-
Athena......maybe they come battered???? LMAO!
Artsee...hey longtime no see, nice to see you here! I'm no artist when it comes to canvas but give me some flowers and watch me go!
Janice...ouch! I wouldn't want to be behind that horse!
Otter, how do you get internet way out in no where? Thats the one thing I miss when at the cottage. Anyone get internet thru satelite???
One more day of work for me then off for 6! I'll never catch up here when I get back, ya'll move to fast!
Hope everyone in storm damaged areas gets relief! The damage in some areas is brutal......mother nature needs to take a vacation I say.
Pass the icewine please!

Morning all - thiings are so , so beautiful in NE this am - eveybody is having a bit of a laugh at the beautiful weather - while the remains of Irene are stark. We're just learning of places very close to me that were flooded. Seems the Deerfield River did the most damage in this part of the state, the Westfield River a little farther south. Fields of farms are under 6 to 8 inches of silt. Contaminated silt, which means the poduce is not edible.
The work that goes into farming, well, it's all year, and when the "results" are lost - I don't know how to explain how heart breaking it is. I'm not a farmer, and many of my "new" friends here are. Also, many of the farms are CSA ( Community Supported Agriculture) - means we buy a share, and pick up the produce during the season it is available. I love the concept, because it means the people who eat the food share the risk with the people who grow it.
But day to day life is getting back to normal in MA - VT is a completely different picture. All I can say is, that the Congess is fighting re: FEMA funding, while people are struggling to survive is an evil I find difficult to comprehend.
Artsee, on a happier note - would LOVE to hear what books you suggest to learn more about watercolor painting. Hope all have a SUNNY SAFE day.
-
I did not sleep well last night. I had been taking Benedryl every night but the daytime drowsiness was getting to so I am off of it until I can't stand the allergies anymore. This year has been bad. So I went and go a new cat. He is worth it,
Is there anything different you have to do to download pictures from Facebook? I know I've done it but my CRS is acting up(Um, for the last few months or years- I guess when it's chronic it's not acting up.) I used to have a brain but I just don't remember where I put it, Thank you chemo.
-
Sunflowers, it just boggles the mind about FEMA. And the sheeple that agree with them are above contempt. Would like to see them in that situation. It's nice to give those comments from the comfort of your dry livingroom, when you're not affected by the devastation. Somebody on CNN called Paul an idiot....I agree!

Allergies. I think I've tried it all. Injections for years. Every kind of antihistamine, and combinations of them. To my AMAZEMENT - what has helped me the MOST is the Chinese Medicine I get from my acupuncturist. It looks like supplements, capsules, in bottles: AllerEase, Blue Poppy Herbs, 5441 Western Ave, #2, Boulder CO 80301. And instead of sudafed, which makes my heart go wild, I take Herbal Times: Bi Yan Wan, from NuHerbs Co., POBox 21128 Oakland, CA 94620
I'll bet our Anne the FAMOUS Model knows about the Boulder Blue Poppy Herbs company.
Now, I am SO allergic to cats, that I can't even be in the same room with them for too long, Also, cats are SO smart, cuz when I go to visit a friend who has 2, one of them always jumps up on my lap, stares at me, and smiles purring "I dare you to touch me." Honest, she knows. No doubt about it.
-
Sunflowers
Cats do pick up on people who do not want them nearby and then go right to them. Perverse little devils.
Bobba is now just growling at Baxter. There is very little hissing. I just gave them cat treats and cat mint in the same room. Baxter has retreated back into the basement. Bobba is glaring at me They are doing alright considering he has been here less than a week. -
Rosemary .. glad to hear the Bobba and Baxter are acclimating to each other. I don't have any cats, but cats love me! I'm more comfortable with dogs.
Sunflowers ... I don't understand about FEMA either ... it just blows the mind.
Blue .. hope your arm is better today.
I talked to my brother today about his website ... it's really very nice, he's a self-employed professional engineer and builds bridges. He gave me lots of good information on how to go about building a website and finding someone to create it.
Mostly .. all the info he gave me just overwhelmed me. It's all so technical about things I don't know about. I'm just about at my wits end trying to figure out how to get more clients.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi ladies, I got far enough along on my catch up to see that we made it through the storm. My placed fared well, my sister's neighborhood was devastated by a tornado and the clean up there has only just begun. Vermont seems to have gotten the brunt of it. My heart really goes out to all up there who got caught up in this. It's a beautiful state and it saddens me to see so much damage. Of course, the US has seen a lot of that this year, hasn't it? I know we should be grateful for the safety of our loved ones, but seeing you life in splinters or parts of our history get washed away, is just tough.
Blue, I hope you cut those hooves off the right pony. I'm assuming you did, since they are fashionably trimmed in gold!
Anne...awesome calendar...just awesome...
wish I had made notes as I read...I didn't expect to be so far behind

Wish I could stay, but my break is over...take care all! I'll check in as I can...
