Found lump in March just having surgery now

BellaDaisy- It does seem like the whole process takes forever.  And while you're going through it it feels like you're living life in slow motion.  A lot of us just want the cancer out NOW!  But if they can tell it is a non-aggressive type of BC (maybe DCIS?) then a lot of these tests are done to determine what your options are as far as treatment.  Early stage BC can have several different ones.  I was DX in December and did not have my BMX until March.  Though it seemed like a long time it gave me time to research and mentally prepare (as much as any of us can prepare).  I'm sorry you've having to go through all this.  Hoping all goes well this week.  (((hugs))))

Bella- Believe me I completely understand.  I had DCIS which is even less aggressive but I still wanted it out.  Cancer is just a frightening word.  It is a really strange feeling to know you have cancer somewhere inside you as you go about your day.  And your hospital is not helping the situation.  I can see why you have been so stressed about everything.  I hope everything is all straightened out now.  BTW, your pups are so cute!  What kind are they?

Bella, I'm guessing you are having your surgery today.  I just had my lumpectomy last Wednesday and it was not a bad experience at all.  I was diagnosed last January and have been taking Femara since Feb. to shrink the tumor.  Now that we have the results, I'm not so sure it shrunk, but I have at least felt very fortunate to have the luxury of time to get used to the idea, prepare and research.  The first few weeks were a nightmere, being rushed and panicked felt like I was being driven over a cliff.  If I had gone with the first surgeon, she would have taken my whole nipple and left a long scar across my boob.  The surgeon I used was able to save the nipple and get clean margins and she did a beautiful job. Thank God for time.  I hope yours will go smoothly and wish you a quick recovery.  Sherri
