Sorry for all the problems Melinda, just so much to go thru again!!

Mechele and Sue, Hope you both have a well earned vaca. Do enjoy as y'all sure do deserve it!!! You ladies I don't get jealous of because we are a family of sisters and all deserve it!!!

I had a good day yesterday, went to see my Rads Onc. for a six month follow up (actually has been 8 months, I'm a bad girl and just didn't want to go). The office had moved to a new location and there is now a complete full Cancer Center in Tallahassee. One Healing Place is the name and it is absolutely amazing. The staff whom I already knew most of them are all there and I just love each of them. They make you feel so at home and seem to genuinely care. The girl that was the receptionist ran out to the parking lot and threw her arms around me and yelled Ms. Briscoe so good to see you I sure have missed you!!! My wonderful Rads Onc. gave me a bunch of hugs also and said I don't need to be seen but once a year now. Going to the Dr's. and having a wonderful experience in itself is a beautiful thing!!!!

Sue, good thing you mentioned infusion, mine is due soon also. As well I need to make a appt. for my regular yearly (pap, blood work, etc) with my primary. I normally go my B-Day month.

Speaking of my peeps now, they are wonderful. The pics are of mostly hens and a rooster in the mix. All of my girls have now started to lay now. I got 6 eggs out of my seven hens yesterday. so, maybe by today they will all be laying. It is so funny to listen to them before they lay the egg. Talk about some cackling hens!!! Too funny. Oh my gosh, I can understand it would be kinda like us in labor!!!  Sue, I can say though if you get peeps, stick with about just 5-6 hens and 1 rooster. I went a little overboard and it's become quite a chore..... GOD thing I love them all. I

This is my total count of chickens to care for is 38  !!!!!!!!!!!

My Easter Chicks (mixed breed) = 2 Roosters & 3 Hens

    Rhode Island Reds = 4  Roosters & 7 Hens

    Silver Laced Wyandottes = 1 Rooster & 15 Hens

    Dominique's = 2 Rooster & 4 Hens

Well gotta go love to all!

I saw PS yesterday and he pulled one drain so I am back down to two. It is not a fancy infection, just basic staph and he is surprised it is being so stubborn. My breast area is still red and swollen and tight. We think maybe the radiation just slows down the healing of an infection. The breast is red but the flap is white, it is not infected since it is still getting its blood supply from the back.

I went to a Tae Kwon Do class last night, it was 'Families Kicking Cancer" at the Gilda's club. That was fun. the kids didn't hate it and I was able to do quite a bit without being sore today.

I go to see big Onc today, Mom is going to go with me, I think she missed all the staff from the chemo days.

Linda: happy. comfy fill dust sprinkles.

Brenda - Make lots of omelettes :) That's a lot of chickens to care for.

Melinda - hope the infection clears up soon.

Well, I'm all packed except for the toiletries - my bag weighs a ton. Our daughter arrives tonight at 11:15pm - I could kill her.

We leave at 8:45pm tomorrow night - I'll try and check in while we're gone with my tiny laptop thingy. I'm still at bit apprehensive about the trip, it's a long time to be gone. I'll miss my Poppy. Also, London doesn't look too good with all the riots there. Luckily our son is away from them and we should be ok where we're staying in central London.

    Bye for now :)

Finally got the last two drains pulled. PS concerned with how slowly the infection is clearing. It is clearly still infected in the radaition field. Big Onc said nothing other than that my blood work says I am anemic, surely due to the recent surgeries.

    Onward and upward.

Hi... I know I am not on here very often but I am having a few relaxing days and thought it would be good to see how everyone is. I thought of you all recently as I won a scholarship to go to the USA to learn about dementia care. So 18 months after coming on this wonderful site and connecting with you all in the USA ( and the rest of the world) I found myself flying 'across the pond' ont the 1st July.

It was such a good way to celebrate being well again, to celebrate life and when my children came out at the end of my scholarship time a fabulous way to celebrate family.

I wore my bikini with pride, my new silicon boobs looked the part on the beach in California.

    Love to you all,

    Natalie xxxx

Wow, this has been a busy place since I went on vacation.  Melinda, I am sorry you have to go through this stuff.  You need a break.

Alicia, sounds like a great vacation...where are you going?

Brenda, I'm glad that your visit to the clinic was so nice.

Philippa, welcome back it has been a while.  Same with you Nathalie.

Sue, I hope you are having a great vacation.

As for vacations, we had a good time.  Although we rented a cottage near the beach, but only got there twice.  The weather wasn't great to us.  We still had a good time.

    Hello Sisters!

Well. Me thinks I underestimated the discomfort with tissue expanders. I'm having constant spasms in my breasts and back. This darned things hurt so bad. And come to find out, I can't have the 9/28 MRI that I was scheduled for. Liver ultrasound, anyone?

Quick question...how long does one normally wait between the last fill and the exchange?

Melinda, Big Onc told me that I was anemic too. My iron counts are good, but hemoglobins are shot. Yep...it's the surgery. I certainly don't want anymore transfusions.

I'm glad that everyone had good vacations. I have to admit...I snuck off to FL last weekend to visit my sister. Aaahhhh, FL sunshine!

Philippa, sounds like you had some wonderful travels. I'm envious :)

Natalie, you look great. Rock on in that bikini!

    Love to all!

Linda so sorry about the pain you are in.  Those expanders are no fun.  I believe I waited 2 weeks between my last fill and surgery.  May have been a month but no longer.

Glad you snuck in a vacation.  We leave Monday for a 5 day cruise to Canada.  While it may be cold we are still looking forward to it !!! We will be celebrating my daughter's 17th birthday on board.

Hugs girls Hope everyone is enjoying the end of summer.  Oh the coolness in the air already makes me sad.  :(

Hi girls - we're in Ireland!!! I just love it!!! We're in Limerick and leave for Killarney tomorrow.

London was great - our grandson is gorgeous. Bit p'd off we didn't see them on our last day though. We will see them again before we leave though.

My sympathies Linda!! I've heard expanders are not nice - but it won't be for long.

Hey hey,  We are 85 mi. N of the epicenter.  My house is a 2-story, 3000 sq. ft. house and the quake rocked it.  Very brief, but very, very scary.  My poor dog looked at me with her ears back like, "What the hell and will we be okay?!"  Only noticible effects were that some pics are a tad esquew and a night-stand size table upstairs slid 3 inches.  DH was evacced from his office building and he had the forethought to shut down his workstation before leaving the building and then he drove home.  Was able to beat the huge traffic jams from all the businesses in the area sending their peops home afterwards.  (He had visions of 9/11 when he was at the Pentagon and the building was hit and evacced.  Needless to say, that's what most people around here thought at first.)  DD tried to call several times from the VA Beach area to let me know she was fine there, but cells were down everywhere for a few hours.  Now, only watching/waiting for any aftershocks.  A very strange afternoon that will be the topic of conversations for a while:  "Where were you when the earthquake hit?!"

Linda:  I hope you are feeling better and are well on the way to healing.

Melinda:  thanks for worrying about your East coast friends.  I hope you, too, are done with the infections and are just waiting until you can finish this part of the recon. process.

Can't wait to read more from Sue and Alicia's trips.  Nette  :)

Wow Nette, that does sound scary, I can imagine that people were thinking of 9/11. Glad you and yours are all OK. Michele, glad you checked in, pretty wild I imagine.

We're almost 100 miles from the epicenter. We just did a lot of shaking, but had no damage! But it was scary. That morning, we had a bomb threat at my job, so they shut all the campuses down. It made for an interesting day. Now...lets just see what this hurricane does!

Hello ladies -- I was thinking of you all yesterday on my "cancerversary" (does anyone else hate that term?) and hoping you're all well....what a journey we've all had in the last two years. As much as I wish this had never happened to any of us, I have to say that the best thing to come out of all this has been the amazing community of women I've found online and on Twitter.

On to more lightearted topics...I got my hair cut last week and tadaaa! Chemo curl is gone Laughing. Only took a couple of years, but hey! I was very excited. Check out the new profile photo....

Sending warm hugs, chocolate and fruity cocktails to one and all...
