I agree his letter was remarkable. I had a tear in my eye toward the end.

HL~
Will also be thinking of you...
I had DIEP almost 2 years ago. My husband said "they had such a hard time waking you after surgery." I said "No, I heard them I just did not want to get up."
-
{{HappyLibby}} My prayers and best wishes are with you today! You should be getting ready to go under now. E, looking forward to your update.
Yes, a sad day for Canada.
Well, I am getting ready to be off to Tulsa. At least the hurricane looks like it will miss us. So that means I will most likely get home Friday evening. Whew.
Bren, so sorry Mr Tim is off again!
Rosemary, being sick really sucks and you have every right to be upset. Twice in one season stinks! ((Hugs)). For some weird reason, since I started taking my supplements, I have not been sick at all for over a year, even with all the traveling I do. (Knock on wood).
-
Ang -lol!
Thinking of you this morning, HL.
-
Thinking of Happy this morning and hoping all is going well for her surgery.
Barbara .. know you are dreading this trip, but hoping you have safe travels and the time passes quickly.
Rosemary .. hope you are feeling better today. I hate being sick .. it sucks.
Ang .. I had major abdominal surgery years ago and didn't want to wake up either. I didn't want to know if the 9 cm tumor was cancer. I kept saying, No, I'm not going to wake up! Just like you, I could hear them all talking to me .. but refused to wake up. ha!
I get my pics back today .. finally. I should be able to post them this afternoon. But first, I have some work to do, thankfully.
Hope everyone has a good day,
Bren

Glad you have some work Bren. Looking forward to the pics.
Anxious about HL and hoping today goes by quickly.
Barb, I'm hating you hating this trip. Glad the hurricane will miss you.
Where's Otter?
The 2 kooks are on my lap and won't let me type. ttyl.

Barbara
I really don't want to take more supplements. I take a multivitamin, a B complex Vitamin D and vitamin E and Calcium with D. I tried echinechia once when I had a run of getting every cold out there but got really sick when I got off of it. It apparently did not boost my immune system it replaced it.
I'm taking acidophilous while I am on the antibiotic. I may stay on it. I got off it when I had chemo because they said no supplements but vitamins. It is supposed to be an immune booster. I usually eat yogurt every day but I guess that's not enough friendly bacteria. I don't know if I want more pills though.
-
Got my work done, so guess I'll shower and head out to get my pics! Sure hope they turned out with the throw-away cameras!
Can't believe Happy has 10 more hours of surgery to go.
Rosemary .. hope you are feeling better today.
Barbara ... good to see Irene is changing course a bit. It looks like NC will be hit. I just hope it drops some rain on southwest VA .. it is so dry and brown here.
Blue .. I miss Otter too.
hugs,
Bren

I was going to ask about Otter too...
Barbara, hope the trip goes as well as it can. Remember, nothing lasts forever!
HL must be at least two hours in as of this writing. Hopefully her surgery will be over sooner than planned. Hang in there, E!
-
Thanks all. This too shall pass.Heading out to the airport.

Sending sympathy to my Canadian friends, so, so sad. What a brave human being.
Rosemary - be gentle with yourself. Asthma ( from my personal experience with it as an "adult") is exhausting. Depletes mentally, physically, emotionally, and that's even b4 having the Beast of bc to deal with. I try to be careful to avoid "triggers" - but not always possible. Even take the Pneumonia vaccine now. Thanks for sharing your experience with T, and AI's - I'll probably just stay with Arimidex as long as my body lets me.
Thinking of Happy, so good she doesn't have a glimmer of what's happening! Hoping the few hours after awakening are easy for her too.
Putting FRESH ABALONE on the BCOB&G menu, for Otter.

-
Hello everybody!
I'm thinking of Happy Libby and hoping everything is going well.
Jack Layton sounds like he was a very special man. We need more politicians like him.
Rosemary, a friend once talked me into ordering a Long Island Ice Tea because, "you like iced tea." I had no idea that there's no tea in that and absolutely no clue to how strong that is.

Love the pics Bren. I love the one with both of us.

Hey everyone,
The breast surgeon came out at 10:30 and said her part was done and everything was going well. I had to leave for a bone scan but plan to go back later this evening and hopefully be there when she wakes up.
If you want to leave messages for her here, I'll print them out and take them with me.

Me too Blue. I don't know what happened with these pics. I resized them, but they still came out huge! I wish my camera had been working, as the throw-away camera didn't take very clear pictures. I have lots more .. just need to download them.
hugs,
Bren
-
Enjoyful .. thanks for the update on Happy. Thinking of you today as you get your bone scan. And hoping those lesions are benign!!
hugs,
Bren

Me at the falls.

Holy crap .. we just had a huge earthquake here. Lasted over 60 seconds. Scared the bejeezuz out of me and the dogs.
We're used to them in San Diego, but I've never felt one here in Virginia! Yikes!
hugs,
Bren

The gang at the Residence Inn. (I'm taking the picture.)

Here is my message:
Dearest L,
Be careful of what you miss - did you know that as you were lying like sleeping beauty being expertly tended to we had an earthquake that was felt throughout the Washington area? The strangest thing.
Hope that you are feeling ok and not too other plant-y. I have been thinking about you all day and hope you are comfortable. I hope your DH is faring well, too.
The BCO B&G is toasting you tonight. The bartender - whose identity I still do not know, is going to name a drink after you!
Hugs and kisses,
"A"
-
Bren,
The news said it was a 6.0 Hope you were sitting down =;0)
-
My deck was fluttering!
-
Libby - just walked in the house from chemo. NBC special report on about earthquake in DC. When they started talking about evacuating the Pentagon all I could worry about was evacuating the HOSPITAL! Glad I listened long enough to understand that probably didn't happen. Whew! Hope you're happily snoozing away. You'll feel like Rip Van Winkle when you awaken. You're missing some big stuff!
ETA - Athena - will the barkeep call the drinks Libby Libations?
-
We felt it all the way up here. I hope Layne is OK!
-
BREN
you were the epicenter of the earthquake! Don't think we felt it - WOW!!!! stay safe
