I don't know if I should be asking this on stage III forum, but I'm most comfortable here and usually only post in this forum so I'll ask my stage 3'er sistas.  The pharmacy said my insurance will only allow generic form.  I've been on 75mg for years and I've heard a lot of SE from higher blood levels of the generic are common.  I just can't face any more SE for anything.  Can I ask my PE to prescribe no substitutions?  I really hate this.

It can't hurt to ask Barb, but hard to say what the insurance company will do.  Try to remember just because someone else gets SE's from it doesn't mean you will.

Sherri, Yes, I really get what you're saying.  I am not comfortable about switching so abruptly to generic effexor.  I've been on effexor for a long time and to suddenly change to generic makes me fearful that I will not be able to tolerate it.  The same thing happened to me when I was on Arimidex and insurance changed it to generic.  I just could not tolerate it, and at the same time they changed my effexor to generic.  My onc made them change back to the originals.  Today my doc filled out some paperwork to the insurance in my behalf and the pharmacy is waiting for the insurance to ok itUndecided
