hello,ladies!somebody get this medicine-:Pamidronate"?If so,for what this medicine and what your experience ?any side affects?

    Hi Hope:

    Pamidronate is in a group of medicines called bisphosphonates (bis FOS fo nayts). It alters the cycle of bone formation and breakdown in the body.

    Pamidronate is used to treat high levels of calcium in the blood related to cancer (also called hypercalcemia of malignancy). Pamidronate is also used to treat Paget's disease of bone.Pamidronate is used to treat bone damage caused by certain types of cancer such as breast cancer or bone marrow cancer. Pamidronate does not treat cancer. Use all other medications your doctor has prescribed for those conditions.

    I hope this helps Its from drugs .com. As  I understand women are given it when they have BC cancer . The idea is to help strengthen the bone as some drugs (antihormonals) for ER+ can cause bone loss-osteoporosis.

    bevin,dear,thank you for answer.you give me a hope.why I ask,I worry,if cancer again.I have all time pain in my nech that go up in my head. before,I took "Fozamax".yesterday doctor put me on Pamidronate.Yesterday had first injection,today I have terrible pain in my arms,lags,back.
