Hi Nancy - where are you to still be up? I wondered if you would know me since I changed my name. I did say hello a couple of pages back. It's 5:10pm here in Oz - about to go and prepare the veg for the roast chicken tonight. Only 1 week of work left and I'm off until the end of September - major holiday we both deserve after all the crap from the last couple of years.

Yes, it's me. I had income protection insurance, so took the whole time off - why not. I've been back full time for 5 weeks now. I did get up to 4 days a week last year but then the 2nd bc was found. Hope you recovered from rads well. I found my right one didn't end up as hard as the left. I still worry they didn't treat it properly. I've been avoiding any boob checks until we come back from the UK.

Did the veg and found the 2 red sweet potatoes I had were yucky inside - had to peel a real potato - bummer, I love the sweet ones roasted. We're having rhubarb and apple crumble for desert with double cream - frozen from the supermarket - but not bad. I love Sunday dinners.

Speaking of cream puffs, check out my wedding cake. It was miniature cream puffs topped with caramel sauce. OMG. The French people were on their month long summer vacation back to France so we ate Italian. I had a veal chop that was to die for. YUM!

Barbara what a yummy looking cake. All the talk of cream puffs has me wishing for sweets, and it's not even 9:00 AM. Glad you enjoyed the evening.

'Morning all - I don't know whether I am slightly more used to the hellish weather but I did not die yesterday, so let's see if I will survive a walk outdorrs today.

Barbara, incredible cake. Hope you had a nice time last night.

Nancy, You may be able to keep Susie some company. It seems as though most of us here are East coasters, yes. Glad your kitty has forgiven you.

Susie - did you get a recurrence in the same breast or a new primary on the other one?

once you take off those little white hairs that really are all over (chemo patient or not)
you'll be amazed how much younger you'll look.. it just removes crepiness.
Pastry cream.. real pastry cream is really good with lemon curd. (that is what I was thinking of last nite when searchin in my memory of lemon curd and it's deliciousness.
mixed layered with pastry cream.. depending how big the pastries are.

It's 10 degrees cooler today.  Yay.  I'm going to work on my project down in the field.  I'll take a pic of my baby oaks once I finish trimming them.

    hugs all round,

apple ... gremlins?  I've seen that happen to people's posts before but they really got you :)

Morning all!  I'd never seen a cream puff cake before ... awesome!  So instead of cutting the cake you pluck it ... one cream puff at a time Smile

Bren ... make sure you don't overdo.  It's still hot.  We'll be watching for those pictures though.

Mary and Ann ... how neat for you both!

It hasn't cooled off here darn it.  I'm about to throttle our TV weather people.  They keep talking about how we are only 5 days away from breaking a record on consecutive 90+ degree days.  It's like cheerleading for more of it.  No thanks!  Nobody will care that we broke a stupid record ... in fact we'll all forget about it in a week.  Cooler air says I ... now says I ... pretty please ...

Hi Rabbit .. It's only noon and I've got to stop.  Too freakin' hot and humid.  It felt good to be outside for awhile though, so I won't complain.  Still, it's all relative, even though it's 10 degrees cooler today, the heat index is stil at 106.  arghh.  I wish Tanks pool was bigger, I'd get in it with him!

Pictures as soon as I download my camera.

    hugs,

    Bren

Hi Gals, just wanted to chime in that I'm kind of jealous and sad about not being able to go to NOTL, but I'm happy for those of you who are able.  I hope you have a wonderful time and come back with some good stories.

Oh I sure hope we can see some pictures.  Today is my last day of vacation for the summer. I start a class to teach me how to incorporate the mimeo more into the classroom. I guess I will need to learn how to write programs for it on the computer. Good luck to the poor teacher who gets to teach me.

    Evening girls!!

Bren - Love your green space!!

Athena - It was a different primary in the other breast - you can see it on my mammo from the year before but they didn't report it. Different pathology and lower grade and only 5.8mm. I only had surgery and rads again. The surgeon wanted to do a BMX and I refused as I want to give the Arimidex a chance to prove itself. The original surgeon should have ordered an MRI before the first surgery, but in a way I'm glad as I avoided major surgery - I hate surgery of any kind.

Thanks everyone .. we've lived here five years and I've really tried to keep things up.  It's a lot of work, but it's fun, especially when the weather is nice.

Kira .. we have about 5 acres.  About one acre is fenced up above where the house is.  Need to have lots of room for the dogs.

    hugs,

    Bren
