A useful(?) information - Thought of sharing with all of you
Hello,
I posted abouet "Stage 3A-Treatment Dilemma" few weeks back and Thanks to every one who offered the valuable advises.
Today, my wife completed her 3'rd AC cycle.Sitting next to her in the hospital, I was reading articles on internet like "Positive Thinking", "Driving fear away" etc...
While browsing the net, I came across this information which I thought I will share with you.
1. There's a Homeopathy medicine by Dr.Banerji (From India) which has been proved very effective in breast cancer treatment/control. Appears like even MD Anderson hospital has vouched for it. There hospital is in Kolkotta, India and I called them up to check on this. They seem to be doing some intereseting work. What I read is, these set of homeopathy drugs seem to do the similar effect of paclitaxal (Taxol) with less/no side effects !!! It could be a good complimentary medicine. Is there any one aware of this ? Has any of you who took treatment in MD Anderson hospital, TX aware of it's efficacy? I was thinking we would drop "12 cycles" of Taxol and go with this if there are many positive feedback about this.
2. Second herb I wanted to mention is "Simouraba". I came to know about this in a popular radio show in India and went and got those leaves. The person who was talking about this in the radio show was not a doctor but was a professor in aggricultar university. You have to boil these leaves in water and drink it in the morning. My wife ia taking it from past couple of months. It's suppose to improve the immunity, stop cancer cells growing. Appears like there were some researches on this done in US as well. Check it out. While, my wife faced no side effects due to this, we belive it helped her reduce chemo side effects to a quite a large extent.
Take care

Bala,
you might want to go to the alternitive site for info on the herb treatment.
If I could say anything without sounding out of line. I think anything holistic ,or alternitive is awesome, in conjuction with the standard treatment for BC. Like I said though I am uneducated
when it comes to this. I did do the 12 taxol, and they are a walk in the park compared to the A/C
It is a much easier chemo doing it weekly. Good luck, and God bless you and your wife!!

Very interesting, I've never heard of these alternatives. Thanks for posting, I'll look into them. As faithfulheart said, you might find more info or others who have used them in the "Holistic and Alternatives" forum. That's what is so great about this site....there is something for everyone
I found my chemo rounds got easier the more I did and I pray your wife has the same experience.

I hope the ladies on the Alternative forum can give you more information. It sounds like you may have stumbled across something that may work for the two of you.
I don't know anyone in the homeopathic field so I stay away. But it is always interesting to talk to my daughter's partner. She's from Hong Kong so she grew up with Chinese medicine. I know that there are other answers to our medical issues and I hope you find a good plan for your wife!
