Our dogs chew them up too fast to get a pic.  Paula I am impressed....a welder?.....no joke, I really am impressed. 

But I did like the ice cream guess the other day. Although it made me want some and I definitely need to stay away these days.



E are those fresh Jersey peaches? Picked some up at the friut stand yesterday along with some nice Jersey tomatoes, corn, and strawberries. Nothing like fresh from the farm.



We went four wheeling yesterday in Batsto yesterday and the only wildlife we saw was on the side of the highway on the way there. And my DH managed to almost get into two different accidents on the dirt road in the middle of the woods. He figured he didn't have to look first before leaving the side trail because noone else would be out there lol.

with DD1-2 out of the house I am the only female, with DS 15, husband, and Romeo the golden retriever. we are in a pertetual state of ESPN; i don't think we get any other channel except when I Tivo Days of Our Lives! LOL

It was very exciting to watch, especially at the end with the penalty kicks. I even called DD2 and she watched the OT by herself, yelling at the TV. Hard not to get into a world championship game.



But the hot flashes are getting me today, along with the 95 degree heat and 107 "feels like" heat index. I started Celebrex last week to help with depression. Feel like a drug store, with the Ativan and Ambien as well. Never took anything more than Motrin previously. Thank god the AC is working as well as the ceiling fans. I turn them on high and then get cold. Or I have a hot flash but my feet are cold-go figure.

I have gottten all my cooking done!  Its was so fun.  I havent done that since Christmas 09.  Me and my sissy usally spend the whole weekend baking and cooking.  Not counting during the week when I made other goodies.  This past Christmas season was taken up by BC so I didnt do anything but the Christmas morning suasage gravy and biscuits, yuck!  I dont like white gravey, but all of my family loves it, so I do it for them.  

Reesie I hit the local market yesterday as well.  I have tons of yummy fruits and veggies.  I love the summer with all the good things that come from the garden.  Nothing beats the taste of a homegrown tomatoe!

I am relatively new to this site. I have gotten such wonderful information on the other forums here, it's fantastic! I am glad someone started this topic for us "middle age" women. Having recently become an "empty nester" and just beginning to enjoy MY house, then wham! Cancer is back. It is unfortunate that so many of us in this age bracket have to deal with this, however I am glad there are others to share experiences from medical information to friendships.

For those who garden in VA, I have plenty of organic horse manure - made fresh every day! My tomatoes love it! I am willing to share!

Welcome Deborah! My sisters live in Richmond, my oldest, Leslie is a 3 year out TN IDC survivor. She lives in Midlothian (that's where I went to HS). Small world isn't it? (My other sis lives in Glen Allen)

Gosh Claire, it is a small world! Glen Allen is just down the road. I live in eastern Goochland. About 10 minutes from the new Short Pump mall. No neighbors here really but a cluster of McMansions just up the road. Hoping they don't move this way but they seem to be getting closer by the day.

Lol, the horses love to camp! They jump right in the trailer and really enjoy going out on the trails especially somewhere new.

I was originally dx'd in 1996 at 36 yrs old with a little larger than 1cm lump. Lumpectomy would not do, so left mastectomy with 8 of 11 nodes pos. Chemo, stem cell transplant, radiation and 5 yrs tamoxifen. Done! All blood tests normal for 14 yrs. Felt great until last year. Thought, ok you are 50, the wheels are falling off. Bursitis in the hips, torn muscle in the chest from doing too much. Tired more often, but X-rays showed nothing(they missed a lesion) bloodwork still good. Last October while jumping my horse, I braced my hand on his neck and snapped my humerus in half at the bicep Ouch! My husband knew immediately something else was wrong. After a bone scan and biopsy while pinning the arm it was found that I had metastasis in the bones from the original cancer. Dang! No organ involvement. Yay! Now it was clear that turning 50 was not the cause of all the aches and pains. I had so much bone involvement they couldn't believe I was walking much less that my leg had not already broken. They wanted to pin both legs out of precaution. NO! Let's wait and see what the drugs do. They are working. The holes are getting smaller and the zometa is filling some in. No longer do they want to pin the legs. I have to be very cautious and have been told to lay off work of grooming dogs but I am still working and doing just small dogs. I can't give up life! The Femara has a lot of SE's that cause just as much pain as the mets but its working! I just have to find ways to combat the SE's. Lots of pain meds but who cares, I'm living a fairly normal life with several adjustments. Can't ask for more than that right now. So I think that's it. Interesting life I have!

Hey Chrissy! So nice to see you again. Hope all is well with you. Yes, the Femara is working well. The side effects are getting worse. I think that may,level off from what I have read. I just have to figure out ways to beat them. The weight loss I can handle...lol. the hair thinning, not so much, the muscle and joint pain...we gotta do something about that and the hot flashes..I mean rivers..I can deal with that too. Lots of pj's! Having another scan Wednesday. Keep fingers crossed. Won't know till next Monday at Dr appt.
