I Come to the Garden...

Faith, prayers being sent up for Sarah, but please, what is your brother's name? I don't want God getting confused and I like my prayers to be name-specific.
Meece, your original reply gave me tears and Joni that song gave me goosebumps. Where else in the world could the power of prayer be so strongly given but on a thread like this here.
Dear God, hear my prayer.....
-
(((((((Faith)))))))) Praying for you, your Sarah and your family! May God give you strength, courage, and that peace that surpasses all understanding!
-
So much to report.
All good.
Hallelujah's in order!!!!
(forgive me for copying this from an email)
Thank you all for your continued support as always. There has been much improvement in my brother's situation since I posted this last night. I have spoken to his nurse on ICU twice today and even between phone calls there has been improvement. He is no longer being kept in the coma-state and has been responsive to instruction.
HALLELUJAH.He is on a pain IV 24/7 so he is being kept comfortable. His care giver is very supportive & insightful.
Everyone in our family loop is now up-to-date so I plan to put something more public on my 'FB wall'. I didn't do that earlier as we were awaiting my sister getting the news. I have spoken w her this morning. The wedding of my niece, Kelly, is to go as planned. We will be there for those festivities later in the month.
Again. Thank you for your support thru the rough waters. I am forever grateful to know that I have a group to call upon when needed.BTW. This is my older brother, Dan. He is now breathing on his own (for the last hour) and SPEAKING!! He wants to eat but they are holding him off of that request for a while. He also wants to use the phone & they have counselled for him to be patient w that request as well.
The ICU nurse said that the next 24 hours are the "meat & potatoes" (direct quote) as to the future and his breathing/oxygen/lung-funcion etc. The nurse said he seems to be a very 'strong & determined' man.
I am still in the midst of packing all of my gear for the Vegas adventure. I am somewhat organized tho not exactly packed to walk out the door.
I will continue to call the hospital and run interferance for my parents -- giving them the reports.

Thanks again for the international prayers, my gardening friends.
The song had me in tears. Had I read it last night I may have sobbed myself to sleep.
So appropriate here -- for each of us & our stories.

The power of prayer never ceases to amaze me!
-
Are you ready for this?
My brother just called me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was nearly impossible to make out anything he said.
The only thing I could really catch was the phrase, "thank you."
He said that in every sentence, though I couldn't really grasp any of the other words.
He sounded rather other worldly, 90% whisper, 5% raspie, the other unintelligable. I know that my mom would be so frightened to hear him in this condition, but again, I can be the go-between and reassure them that he is indeed speaking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Isn't it amazing that the only thing that I could understand were the words "thank you"?
-
crying now.
Warriors, my friend & former baby/house sitter, Becky & her husband, Chris, lost their 1st child on the 7th. They knew that there was severe birth defects & they wouldn't have her very long, but she didn't even last long enough to breath air or hear her momma's voice out of the womb. They are heartsick, but committed Christians....please be in prayer for them as they mourn Lexie Renee. Thank you.
-
Faith - I'm rejoicing with you over your brother Dan's improvement. (That is my older brothers name too.) Praying he will be completely and divinely healed. And that you will have the strength and energy you need to run interference as the go-between. Bless you as you minister to your family!!
Joni - so sad to hear about your friends great loss. God is close to the brokenhearted, may he wrap his loving arms around Becky and Chris.

-
God Bless Lexie Renee, such pain to have to hold for a long, long time. Every year a silent celebration of her birth and the whispered wonder of what day she would have been. Too sad.....
-
Faith ~ I am so happy at the progress that has been made!! We serve a great and mighty God!! I will continue to pray for you all!
Joni ~ Praying for Chris and Becky! I am so sorry for their painful loss!
-
joni; i can't imagine the pain. had a friend have the same thing, sane reason, the pain was awful.. i will be praying for them, for the peace that passes all understanding... the song was sure relevant, juj? 3jays

Praying here to. God is a good God.

Praise the Lord for answered prayers. So glad your brother is improving, Faithie!
Joni, tender prayers going for Becky and Chris.

(((((((((((Lexie's parents)))))))))))))
Gardners, my brother has now been able to get out of his hospital bed under the guidance of the Physical Therapy Department.
It will be a very long road him. I am so grat

More good news! So happy to hear about it, Faithie.
My Matt will be coming home on July 22nd. It is going to be an adjustment for him. He needs to find an apartment and a vehicle, not to mention furnishings. He must start navigating the health care processes of the VA. I pray for wisdom to help him when he asks, and for restraint when he doesn't.
-
Meece, the very fact that you know you have to have restraint means you'll be okay. I knew when my kids got homes of their own and made 'adult' decisions that I had to bite my tongue. Now I have no tongue, but my kids have made good decisions on their own!!!
I did find that when they asked for paint colour help, it usually meant that they wanted me to paint the room too!
Faith, your brother's healing is truly God sent. He has a second lease on life....
-
Big day tomorrow I see both DR. I will know about my surgery and what it will be. Pray for good results and little has to be done. God has been good to me thus far and expect nothing else. I will let everyone know what is next. Thanks for all your prayers.
-
(((((((((((Lynniea)))))))))))))))))
Asking for strength through your appointments as you learn about the next steps in your journey. We are all here and cheering you on.
Praise report: I just spoke directly to my brother for the 2nd time since this all began. He was moved out of ICU about 3 hours ago -- to a step-down unit. His voice is much stronger than our first conversation. He is breathing with oxygen 'support' and obviously is making enormous strides of progress. Thanks to all for the prayers.
p.s. I fly back to WI tomorrow. Will wave from the heavens.
-
Good news for your brother, Faithie. God is good.
Good luck on your dr. visit tomorrow, Lynniea. May you gain all the answers you need.
Tomorrow FDIL and I are traveling to the Fashion district for some powere shopping time before my six month fu visit with my onc. I am still a bit nervous regarding the appointment because I really don't look forward to the potential tests that seem to come along after them. Specifically I hate having blood drawn and IVs. I know it is stupid, but I think my veins have shrunk today just in anticipation!

-
I have great news cancer is gone from chemo but 3 small dot's showed up but the Dr thinks there nothing I have surgery on the 27 of July. Just doing lumpectomy and follow up by MRI. Keep me in prayer for all to go well thanks all
-
Hallelujah, lynniea!!!!!!!!
Great news indeed!!!
What a great reward for your perseverance and trust.
I'm so happy for your outcome.
-
thanks faith
-
But that's what I don't get Lynniea! If the cancer is all gone, what are they going to take out????
-
I am thanking God for all answered prayers! Woohoo we serve a wonderful God (((Lynniea and Faith))) Lynniea I'll continue to pray for you!
Meece ~ I will be praying for your son and you. Hope you had a wonderful time at the fashion district!
Please pray for me for strength and energy. I'm staying at my sister's helping her look after her little one (7mos) until she can find a nanny. I had forgotten how much work little ones are as mine range from 24 to 14. She is such a good baby, always smiling, so it makes it a wonderful time... just loving all the cuddles!
-
They are cleaning out around it and taking out the lymph glands
-
Lynniea Good to hear everthing is going well. Faith so glad your brother is healing.((prayers and Hugs)) ladies.
-
Taken in a Cathedral in Prague Check Republic.

-
WOW Mum!!! Great start on the pics!!
Lynniea, the node area is painful after surgery. Make sure you stay on top of your pain meds and ask for exercises. There will be a weight restriction of 5 lbs for lifting and you will be restricted in motion. Don't let anyone think that "just because it's a lumpectomy" that it isn't serious!! Ask for help before you need it. Good luck!
-
Thank you Barbe I will do that
-
Meece...Are you OK?
♥
-
Thanks for checking, Seyla. I am doing okay. I have had a bit of a rough time. I think all that has gone on lately has just overwhelmed me.
Dr. visit went well. I have another CT on my lungs next month but barring anything from that, will not need to see onc for one year. That is the longest period of time between visits since 2003! Mammo in February.
Great news, Lynniea. Good luck with the node surgery.
kcl, I know that must be fun and tiring. I am glad you have the opportunity to help your sister out and get those cuddles as well!
Mum, Awsome picture! I would love to travel and see the churches and cathedrals of Europe!
