Carollyn, I am so sorry for your sadness and loss.  Thank you for sharing with us.

Carollyn & pejkug, loss of a child is something you can never completely get over.  My little girl went to be with the Lord 25 years ago and it still brings tears to my eyes.  (even as I write this)  One day we will hold our little ones again as they have been in our Father's care.

I had THE most amazing, extra-ordinary experience delivered straight from heaven today!

This has been the week of my giving 14 concerts for a series of Family Library summer reading events. Anyhow..... today I was down to the final 3 events & truly feeling the effects of the cumulative work of my playing.

Anyhow. We got to the second library of the day with nearly two hours to spare. Right across the street from the library a lady was having a 'plant sale' in her front yard. (She was selling these glorious perenials for $2.00 a large pot.) I kept telling her that I wished she had hostas -- as they are my favorite & grow so well in all of our shade.

We bought quite a few foxglove, which she assures will grow well in our little plot of shade.

Anyhow, her real gift to us?

She pointed us to Wade Botanical Gardens (less than 5 miles down a country road) and I was suddenly meeting Mr. Wade himself!!!! He has the worlds largest collection of distinctly unique hostas!!!! On his grounds he has over 3,000 hosta variations. I had no idea on earth that there were so many. Let alone that one garden would have them gracing the grounds.

He had 36 quonset huts of hostas for sale. I nearly flipped my lid!!!!!!!!

He has been the president of the International Hosta peeps for years & years.

Who knew???

Our car already looked like the Beverly Hillbillies. Imagine it now.

Overflowing with foxglove & hostas.

I was dressed in my polka dots for performance. He was quite curious and we ended up trading my newest picture book for a couple of pots of hostas!!!!

God is so good.

I LOVE being given the opportunity to have at least a peek at this wonderous glimpse of heaven.

When you find a picture on the web you like, you copy the image url. Click on the picture of a tree on the tool bar for posting, and paste the url info in the top box. Then hit submit.

If you find them on Google,

1. go to the "full sized image"

2. right click

3. click on "copy image location"

4. come back to BCO and on tool bar for "post a reply", click on the tree icon just to the left of the smiley.

5. put the cursor in the Image URL box and hit control V

6. Tab past that box until dimentions auto fill

7. Click on the "Insert" button

8. Your picture should appear in your post box ready for you to submit.

If you are using your own photos, they should be posted in your own website, facebook or in Flikr or Photobucket.

I'm still waiting on news of my son's friend. I guess the family has been going through some other difficult stuff, so he has not heard from her since she was diagnosed.  I will update you as soon as I have something. Pls continue to pray for her, thanks!

Some pink plumeria for everyone to enjoy! Thank-you for the picture posting instructions, Meece. I've tried several times, but have never been able to make it work! Your instructions "clicked" with me! Any tips on a standard size? Some pictures posted are small, others seem huge? I have no idea what numbers would be good. This seems OK, and hopefully will be when I click "submit"!!!

Lynniea a bouquet for you!!

Faith the story on the hostas was great.  It is truly amazing how chance encounters bring such joy.  I am certain Wade will enjoy your books as much as you enjoy the hostas.  When we lived at my first home I had black walnuts and really struggled to get things to grow, finally I discoverd hostas would grow and kept going until I had the entire area in front of the porch lined with them, they looked so nice.  My oldest son mowed the lawn while in a fowl mood and mowed them all down, I cried him and his dad laughed (am no longer married to him), but it really hurt and I did nto think they understood why.  About 5 years later Josh my son brought me a Mothers day present it was a beutiful big blue leaf hosta.  He told me how sorry he was he mowed them down and he never forgot how he hurt me.  It was a grand moment for my son and I and now that hosta's have been seperated and circles my entire birch tree.  

Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend but also remember the freedoms we enjoy and those who fight for them. The young man, Joey in our community who had both of his legs blown off is doing well.  He is now up walking on his "shortie" legs and hopes to come home for 2 weeks in August.  It will be nice to see him.

I wouldn't mind prayers for Tuesday, July 5, if anyone thinks of it.  I have surgery for deconstruction.  I bought myself roses this time!!!  I felt like I needed to do something special for me.

DD is home-She had an awesome time from the sounds of things.  One of the adult leaders said, "just wait till you see the video; she was our roof monkey."  She just got done telling me that she was the only girl allowed up on the roof.  PLUS, they had to wear skirts when working-only "women of the evening" wear pants there apparently.

A skirt on the roof, oh my.  I would had shorts under it.  And  probably would have tripped on getting off the ladder!
