    Dinner tonight was pasta with pancetta, fresh tomotoes and fresh mozzarella.  We then had some BBQ Italian sausage, some veal cutlets and a green salad.  YUM.

    I have not yet tried whole wheat pasta ... keep meaning to but don't use that much pasta anyway.

    otter ... glad you are back and sorry that it does not sound like you are done with the project yet.

    Damm - missed the deleted posts - been sitting around in my pj's watching my Sunday morning current affairs shows. DH hopped on his bike and went to do some work - hopefully he will be productive - took him long enough to get going. I might go shopping to an outlet mall near our airport - still trying to find some decent shoes to take on our trip.

    Dinner tonight is Red Emperor fish - beer battered - which is really not a good thing but yummy.

    My daughter's friend came to visit from England.  She is such a lovely girl!  They are out now -- there is a fireworks fesitival here in Montreal-- and then out to a bar for drinks.  I am waiting up for them, so I guess I will be up (somewhat) until about 3 a.m!

    Had a great dinner tonight...............got invited to my daughters.....Salad with, baby spinach, radishes, grape tomatoes, baby kirby's, and mango slices with rasberry dressing, mashed potatoes, broccalini, mushrooms and onions, and a big filet mignon.........garlic bread, iced tea, and I made Carrot cake with cream cheese icing for dessert........................now we know that wasn't low calorie, but oh was it good.

    I feel like the stuffed turkey, better take the meds, and head to bed.........goodnight ladies.

    Went shopping - got some great shoes for our trip - took back the dodgy ones I bought last week, now hopefully I'll be able to walk when we're away. It's tough being a size 11.

    Pleasant dreams girls. I'm off to water the garden - hope I've got enough water in the tank.

    Mary .. how late did you have to stay up waiting for the girls?  Tim got home about 11 p.m., so I lucked out on having to stay up really late.

    I think the mods are doing a good job.  This is a huge site to keep up with.

    Hi Barbara and Cindy .. so far it's a lazy day.  Tim doesn't feel well, so he's resting and I'm surfing the net.  Barbara sitting by the pool today sounds like a wonderful thing ... it's so hot and humid here!  No yardwork today and no mowing!

    Good morning all. Today does look like a pool day at least this morning. Going over the sons to see how the pond is coming. They have turtles in it now. One of them decided it wanted in the house last night. Was knocking at the door. Way too funny.

    Good morning from sunny western MA.  Giving thanks for the Ignore button, even tho the Mods deleted before I had a chance to ignore.  OCD, definitely Blue.  Love Jim's b&w picture, those lips.

    We had so much rain, cold, the sweet corn is just starting to come up! Hope all are enjoying a sunny day - and getting rain where you need it.

    The vapors" was a catch-all name for many different "female conditions" during the Victorian Era. These included hysteria, mania, clinical depression, fainting, mood swings, and what we refer to now as PMS and bipolar disorder. The vapors were attributed to the practice of wearing corsets, the poor diet of wealthy Victorian socialites (anemia was common), and the belief that a sickly woman trying to recuperate was viewed as desirable.

    Of course, when the fairer sex were overcome with the vapors, they would have theirfainting couch nearby to regain their composure.Source(s):

    I always thought vapors were an occupational hazard of being a genteel, southern lady. My sister fainted one time - quite embarrassing for me! We all kidded her for years about the time she had the "vapors".

    Poor thing -- perhaps her corset was too tight!

    I've fainted a few times -- low blood pressure was the cause, I think (no, I wasn't wearing a corset!).

    I've fainted a few times as well. Spent several days in the hospital, they never did figure it out. I will say the head ache and neck pain just before I passed out were scary.

    In fact it was sort of similar to the head ache I had after chemo, along with loosing my eye sight for a brief period of time. I never even gave that episode a thought with the chemo reaction. That just might be something I should talk with the Onc. about the next time I see him.

    well, doesn't it sound just so much more romantic, "the vapors" then the other descritpions ;)  I especially like the way a certain "duck" used it, noting the "approval" this thread received.

    Wondering, when a poster changes her name, changes her name, changes her name, do we keep having to renew the Ignore button???

    Morning all!  Hot and humid here again today ... good day to stay inside and just look out at the pretty sunshine I think.

    My tomato plants are loaded with green tomatoes.  I go out every day to check if any are turning yellow yet ... getting impatient.  When they do I will be complaining about being buried in tomatoes ... we planted way too many plants this year.

    I LOVE THAT VIDEO.  Have always loved turtles, always. Ex ept for snapping turtles, they seem to be such gentle creatures.  

    I'll take some of your tomatoes!  We have such a short growing season in the hilltowns of western ma, that I've only planted little ones since I moved here.  My current favorite are sun gold.  Not many make it into a proper salad bowl, cuz I eat'em right off the vine.
