If my mom were alive I would take her to a spa and pamper her!!! or, does your mom like history, BeingHopefull? If she does, and since you are in Illinois, you could take her down to Sprinfield and do all the Abraham Lincoln stuff. His museum is tremendous!
The next person loves history.
(Had fun on my vacation but was not sad to step off the plane into the 72 degree day going on here in North Dakota!)
-
True
The next person had dinner out tonight cause she was too tired to cook.
Beinghopeful, My only advice would be to be sensitive to your mom's energy lever as she finishes her radiation. She might be full of vim and vigor to be finished or she might be fatigued and want a quiet getaway. It might be kind of hard to know ahead of time what she will feel like.
-
does a Dairy Queen Blizzard count as dinner?
the next person has got to get back into better eating habits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
true.
The next person made an effort because of the heat and had salad for dinner.
beinghopeful- I have no idea what there is to do in Illinois? Lake? One of the best trips I ever took with my Mom was to the shore in Connecticut, she was on a chemo break and it was sooo relaxing, we would sit and watch the ocean, read books make dinner together etc. We did nothing and it was fantastic, super relaxing. I say something like that- if your Mom gets a burst of energy go shopping or something, see a sight, but go where you can just relax and make yummy food and talk to each other- just my humble opinion.
