Here's a Columbine that I took last night. NO special FX involved!!!!

-
looks like a little woodland fairy dancing!
-
Made it through my MRI not to bad one more tomorrow PET scan that one is not bad at all. Hoping for great results.
-
Sending thoughts and prayers for good results for you Lynniea.
Faithroad ~ so glad you are doing well and that you are so happy with your decision... praying for a speedy recovery for you!
Barbe ~ The columbine is beautiful, I have never seen one before, thanks for sharing!
-
Thanks KC I will let everyone know when I get the reports. Hope all goes well to.
-
kcl, you've probably seen one, but from the top. I like to take pictures of flowers from weird angles - like the back!! The Columbine is Colorado's state flower.
-
I took this photo of my gladiolas using "solarize" effect. Not quite the same, but they sure glow.

-
VERY cool!!!! I wonder if my Nikon has a 'solarizing' effect!!
-
faithroad - continuing to pray for your healing. PTL He answered your prayer so specifically about deconstruction.
Meece-LOVE the photos and the flower photo is beautiful.
Barbe-I never knew what a columbine was! Thank you for sharing!
Happy late Birthday Eph!!!! We have something in common!!
Joni-love the pic of the ministry. We have dear friends in Haiti. He is from Haiti and she is from Alabama, but was willing to marry a man called back to his own people and country. Haiti has been a work in progress long before the earthquake. The earthquake surely made the work more difficult in one way and better in others.
Lynniea-praying for your results.
-
Barbe, I am so bad with names of flowers, so I may well have seen them!
I love the angle you took the picture from, it made the flower look like a fairy.Great effect Meece! Lovely photo!
Saw this verse on biblegateway.com today and thought I would share it.
“What a God! His road stretches straight and smooth. Every God-direction is road-tested. Everyone who runs toward him Makes it.” Psalm 18:30 MSG
-
Amen!
-
I brought this photo just for, Seyla, although we can all enjoy it I thought it would have a special place for her. I went out in to my greenhouse this aftertnoon and found that I should have a fragrant surprise awaiting me tomorrow...

-
Oooooo...the 'bump' pot??
-
OOOH Meece Thanks for thinking of me.
Plumerias are so beautiful. I cant wait to see the full product tomorrow.

-
grace - thank you for your prayers, I don't know where I'd be without people prayers. I'm feeling a little better each day. Slept most of today, I guess I needed to catch up.
kc - I love the Psalm you shared!!! Thank you!
Meece - Cool photos!!!!
Blessings to you all here in the garden!
-
No, Barbe, not the bump-pot. This is from a cutting I brought back from Hawaii in 2009. This is the first time it has bloomed.
Faithroad, take care and relax as much as you need.
-
Meece...How did you do it since they dont allowed any plant form leaving Hawaii?
-
You buy the ones in the ABC stores. They are already inspected and bear the stamp of the State of Hawaii Agriculture Dept. There are also nurseries that have sections with plants which are already approved for taking out of state.
-
Are they seeds/
Can I grow them indoor?
Sorry for so many questions but I wanna bring some back when I go.
-
No they are cuttings. Plumerias can get quite large, they are a tree, but I have a neighbor who has one in a pot in her bathroom.

Gardners I come in tonight in need of collective prayer.
This has been a hard day.
I have just learned, via my parents, that my older brother (who is a life-long single man, somewhat of a hermit of a person) was in a serious fire in his home at the beginning of the week. He has been in intensive care since the fire on July 3rd. They have him in an induced coma all this time.
They have just now been able to determine his identification (by locating his cell phone in the remnants of his place) and were able to ascertain how to get ahold of my parents.
He has some sort of machine directly into his lungs to help w his breathing. Apparently the smoke inhallation/damage is of the gravest concern at this time. They hope/plan to have an 'operation' (term?) to remove the lung/breathing machine and go with a trach. My parents were able to approve that intervention on his behalf this afternoon. They would like to do that procedure on Mon if all continues as planned.
He lives in southern FL. My parents are in Augusta & have their own health concerns. We're up here in northern WI.My neice Kelly, (the one recovering from thyroid cancer -- that we prayed for a while back) is getting married in two weeks. That's my sister's family.
Presently there is nothing 'to be done' for my brother -- other than prayer.
I've just gotten off the phone w my mom and I'm sure I'm in something akin to shock.
The other major need of prayer is my daughter, Sarah, (mother of the 3 WonderPeeps). She called early this afternoon in the midst of a hypo-glycemic attack. I quake at this situation. I can't even type out that story as it is too close to my heart and I might come unhinged in sharing the details. She seems to be 'ok-ish' tonight. Sun she had an episode and Scott was there and called the squad. I don't think he'd seen her that bad before. Scott is now on a mission -- so she's there on her own.
It's times like this, I realize how far in over my head, this life here on Earth can be. I need your prayers on my behalf -- for my where withall in the face of these various stories that I can't actually impact directly.
Thanks for your continued presence here. I knew that I had an immediate place of refuge.

prayers for your family faith...3jays

Prayers coming your way, Faithie. It is such a test of our faith to have these things occuring at a place where we cannot have direct impact on them. It pretty much forces the issue that we have to unclench our fists and let go of trying to control things, and give them over to Him. I know you will/have, but I will be praying for your peace and for the health of your family members.

Deb, these are lyrics from Matthew West's song, "Strong Enough" They are specifically for you whenever you check in here again, but best of all-they are for all of us.
Love,
Joni
STRONG ENOUGH
You must
You must think I'm strong
To give me what I'm going throughWell, forgive me
Forgive me if I'm wrong
But this looks like more than I can do
On my ownI know I'm not strong enough to be
everything that I'm supposed to be
I give up
I'm not stong enough
Hands of mercy won't you cover me
Lord right now I'm asking you to be
Strong enough
Strong enough
For the both of usWell, maybe
Maybe that's the point
To reach the point of giving upCause when I'm finally
Finally at rock bottom
Well, that's when I start looking up
And reaching outI know I'm not strong enough to be
Everything that I'm supposed to be
I give up
I'm not stong enough
Hands of mercy won't you cover me
Lord right now I'm asking you to be
Strong enoughCause I'm broken
Down to nothing
But I'm still holding on to the one thing
You are God
and you are strong
When I am weakI can do all things
Through Christ who gives me strength
And I don't have to be
Strong enough
Strong enoughI can do all things
Through Christ who gives me strength
And I don't have to be
Strong enough
Strong enoughOh, yeah
I know I'm not strong enough to be
Everything that I'm supposed to be
I give up
I'm not stong enough
Hands of mercy won't you cover me
Lord right now I'm asking you to be
Strong enough
Strong enough
Strong enough -
