Navy mom..how tall are you? Maybe 172 is your healthy weight.
B-4 I was diagnosed I was skinny, skinny, skinny...I like my weight now..around 139...yah..it could be lower but I would be afraid that I was sick again..I will stay with the weight I am now..if I lose more I will start freaking.
-
Titan---I'm 5'8". I have always been slender and fit. I was around 146 to 150 at the time I was dx. I felt great and was happy with the way my clothes fit and the way I looked. I have voiced my concerns to my onc and she is not terribly worried about my current weight. But I am. My body just seems stuck in this weight zone. And the simple fact is that heart disease runs in my family(Dad had open heart surg) and my Mother is obese. My triglycerides are at 226. Cholesterol is OK. I needed that boot in the butt to get remotivated to make better food choices. Exercising is and has been a very normal part of my routine. So I will keep plugging along and if all else fails....like heidi said, just cut my head off and lose a quick 15 lbs!!!!

The only way I lose weight is cutting carbs and dairy and doing excercise. Excercise alone doesn't work for me at all.

Oh well, you can knock it if you've tried it! but 6 oz cold water with 1 tsp orange metamucil is so doable when its 10pm and calorie wise, you can't have more food, but you're hungry and can't go to sleep! Double the dose is a laxative and may cause bloating, but I still sing the praises of it as a good fiber drink. There is one that has no taste and no grit. Remember all the birthday cake I ate for each and all of you? Urp - up almost a pound. At my pcp yesterday, she noted I had lost 5 lbs since I saw her, and her praise was all I needed!
-
tnbcRuth: Congratulations on your 5 lb loss & again, Happy Birthday!!!
-
Well I'm game to try the metamucil when I can finally remember to buy it at the store LOL!
-
I weighed 138 this morning! Ran a 5k yesterday...came in 5th ouf ot 52 in my age group! I was so excited that I went home and had a coke..chips and dip, and bbq ribs for dinner..this morning I had eggs, bacon, and pancakes (after I weighed myself)..!
Oh well...you gotta reward yourself now and then.
Hm...thinking a nice steak tonight...
-
Titan: That is awesome! I still think we have to eat like a pig occassionaly
. I just love food too much to go without all of the time.
-
Great Job, Titan. Reading your post made me hungry!!!! Everything soundedngood.
Navy
-
Sorry Navy mom..that I made you hungry..but I do like to talk about food and eat it too!
-
No problem, Titan. I had a great meal at Maggianos last night!!
170 this morning.
-
Good morning Girls,
I have remained the same, which surprised me given the fact that I ate more than I should this weekend. Thank God for exercise! 150.4 lbs This Morning.
Have a great day!

148.5 Today
-
Still hanging out at 159-160
-
hanging around at 145
-
Well I've been trying the Metamucil/citrical - stopping the huge hunger attacks. So far pretty good - make a huge pan of brownies for my daughter and only tried one( you know that is a requirement in case they wern't good or something) and have resisted. But still the same- 140, sigh but having high hopes this will work!

Who knew that Vit D plays a role in losing weight??? http://www.vitaminddeficiencysymptomsguide.com/symptoms-of-low-vitamin-d-levels/
-
Down another pound ladies.
Toooooooooooo HOOOOOOOOOOOT to work out outside tonight. I guess I'll go up and down the stairs tonight. As long as I am moving right!!!???
-
Good morning ladies,
Hoping everyone is doing well. Sorry forgot to post yesterday. 149.4 lbs, getting there.
Have a great day .
-
168 this morning
I have cut out all sweets and changed snacking to fruit or whole grains. Feeling less hungry than I was in the beginning. I think that it takes your body several days/weeks to get offf the simple sugars. I am even feeling less bloated than I was before.

I was so careful with what I ate and then came the 4th!!! omg, birthday cake, ice cream, eggs benedict, pizza...you name it, I ate it! I was hovering at 142ish, but am 143.8...oh well.
Glad so many have had progress!! And Heidi...1 lb to go for you??? !!
-
Well actually... I would like to get back down to 125. Was 122 at my lightest, but that was too much.
-
I forgot to post also..with July 4th and all..I'm still at 138...probably will stay there...
Running in another 5K in August..got to get ready for that..but with the summer heat it is not easy..
I don't like sweating..ha ha...
-
I celebrated 6 birthdays in the last month, (mine X2) so I'm up 3 pounds of Birthday Cakes ! Whatever! I went for a swim and that night I thought my body from the waist down was going to self destruct! Back pain shifted into high gear. Back on strict SouthBeach, sigh.
-
Up down Up down... I feel like a d*mn yo-yo!
If I stay busy all day my weight goes down, but if I veg a day it's right back up. I don't get it. How can you vary 3-5 pounds per day? I'm averaging 130-134 every other day....?!
-
Uhm..Heidi..when do you weigh yourself? Even if you drink coffee/water in the am b-4 weighing yourself you can gain weight..
-
Titan- yes, I know. I only take my "real" weight in the morning after my first pee. Everything else is just morbid curiosity, so I know how fluids can change the results (I had two sons who wrestled).
Still, I find it fascinating how much it fluctuates, even though I understand why. I am a glutton for punishment, I guess, in addition to good food.
Sigh.
-
Hi Ladies,
Sorry I am posting so late. I went back to work 2 weeks ago and today was my day off, but had doc appt and went school shopping with my kids. I am pooped! Anyhow, glad to report 147.9lbs.
Hope everyone is doing well. XOXO Monika
-
168 this AM. not bad after a weekend of overeating and having cocktails. Back on track today.
-
Yaaa, just a false alarm on that 3 lbs! (that strange fluctuation)...I'm at 144.2 which isn't bad at all considering all I ate. I say this because I think its true, if you do 6 perfect days, you can pig out on day #7 and it won't wreck your progress.
Yaa Monika and NavyMom!!!
How is your back Heidi?
