havehope, congrats on one more done.  I'm sorry it was worse than the last.  You would think that with all the research done, treatments could be less brutal.  Stay strong!  Enjoy your 2 weeks off and have a very beautiful Easter.  ((((( )))))

    Hello everybody!

Today I finished my 3rd round. It was hard, but no pains. Fatigue and nausea are the hardest, but I managed somehow. I am half done !

I hope you are all doing fine and enjoy the good weather ( I hope you have good weather).

    Hugs and kisses!

Just had 2 out of 3 sessions of my 4th tx but I wanted to share some good and bad news.

Good and bad - I am BRCA 1+; platinum chemo and PARP works very well , there is more targeted chemo for this case. Genetic counselor told me he can offer me decades of chronic disease (chemo) if it comes back.

Bad - my daughter has a 50% chance of having it, too. I pray and hope she doesn't. My real hope is that in 20 years ( she is now 14) they will have a pill to cure all cancers.

I already had breast cancer and the risk of recurring is 1% with every year , but since I had BMX already I have even lesser risk.

Good - my CT scan is clear. I had one done after the 3rd treatment. I have no scar tissues either. No mets from bc. No ascites.

Good and bad - my onc told me today that I am not at high risk of recurrence because my CA125 is normal (7) after 3 treatments. But because of this I do not qualify for vaccine trial because they will not know if the chemo or the vaccine cured me (if).

Good and Bad -Thursday I started treatmemt no 4 (6 IV/IP Taxol/Cisplatin) and Magnesium and Potassium are low, just a little below limit so I received supplemets via IV which added 1.5 hrs on my 4 hrs Taxol. It was a 12 hrs day I left the house at 8 AM. Friday Cisplatin. What's the good news? I started treatment 4! I didn't think I will make it. I had very bad sides effects with T1 and 2. Still not looking forward for day 3 to 6.

    Overall good news!

havehope, you're almost done.. woohoo :) Glad to hear about all the good news!

Well Divas, it's my turn, yet again, to be freaked out :( I had a follow-up U/S on my cyst on Tuesday. My OB called me back with the results within 2 hours of me walking out of there, not good :( Still there, but more prominent this time. She wasn't happy that they didn't take measurements, so we don't know if it's smaller or bigger, but it looks worse so she wants me to get an MRI right away, with contrast :( So Monday is MRI and wednesday I meet with her. She has also made it clear that no matter what the results are, she wants it out so I'm a little panicked. So my deciphering of what she said is - she believes it's cancer and she's doing the contrast MRI to see if there is anything else. Arghhh... I'm soooo tired of all those medical issues, seriously, I've lost track of all the MRIs, scans, X-Rays... I've had done since dx. It's not even funny anymore :(:(:( I'll update you all on Wednesday.

GREAT NEWS :) The MRI was completely clean, it showed NOTHING, there's not even a cyst on my ovary! She said it was probably my intestin pushing on my ovary making it look like a mass on the U/S. I was shocked, she was shocked. The way the U/S was worded, it really looked like I was going into surgery and my OB told me she was was honestly worried about me. Phew... Can I now have a break of health issues for a while???

Yay Cebula!!!  So happy to hear that news.:-) And HaveHope, I hope so glad you are almost done with that nasty stuff and that you had good news to share as well.  By the way, HaveHope, I also have a 14 year old daughter who was wondering if your daughter might be interested in a pen pal?  They would definitely understand the emotions and fear and stuff they've been going through with all this stuff.  Mandy, I'll bet you had an awesome trip to London, you'll have to tell us all about it.  Firni, I can't wait to see you next week!!!  Woohoo!!!

I'm doing ok.  Tired of doing chemo, I just had the 2nd injection of round 8 yesterday. Blah.  But it's doing what it's supposed to, and even though I feel generally crappy most of the time, I know it could be much worse.  Looking forward to a mini-vacation with my sister and her daghter and me and my kids over to the Wisconsin Dells later this month.  Blessings to all.:-)

I'm losing my fingernails again. Gee thanks Taxotere. Two years later, it's still kicking me in the rear.

    Hello everyone!

I hope you had a good 4th of July and you are all healthy and enjoying the good weather. Mine was great. Feeling good even though I am bold and lost my eyebrows.

Thursday I start my last session of 3. I can't belive I made it. I know I will have 10 days of suffering, but after that I am done with it. August 1 my abdominal port comes out. Can't wait!

Wish you well and take care of you!
