Mary - (((prayers for you)))
-
Everyone has abbreviations for their DH, DS, DD, etc. I've never been married and have no kids....so instead of a DH I have a DJ (Dependable Jesus!) Actually we all have a DJ! *smile*
-
Wow this thread moves fast if one doesn't check in everyday!

Meece ~ wonderful pictures, what a beautiful baby! Continued prayers for your family and all those in AZ affected by the fires.
Mum ~ Your daughter is an absolutely stunning bride!
Mary ~ I will be praying for you!
Ladies please pray for me, I need a job and I want to work at the place where God wants me, fullfilling his purpose! I have been looking for a few months and refuse to give up or be discouraged, my place is out there somewhere!
God is so good!!Hugs to all!
-
Kcl, I know what it is like to be without a job and hope your decisons are the ones that put you where he wants you to be. I was off work from Thanksgiving through late April. I figure He waited until I was at the right place.
DH did so much for his mother that after we got married, she wouldn't even give us time to have dinner before she was calling with her honey-do list, We'd trudge over there and change light bulbs, work on her computer, paint or whatever else she had in mind. Things got very strained and I don't go there any more DH rarely does either. Her loss. Taking advantage of people especially your family will eventualy have ramifications.
DS & DIL called tonight. They are thinking of coming out here for their anniversary in Aug. They want to go to Disneyland with us, then allow us to take Patch home and they would stay an extra day. Oh, Darn! That sounds awful, doesn't it? Can you see my huge smile right now?

OOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo, I haven't even gotten a BABYSIT never mind an OVER NIGHTER!!!!
-
My former MIL never treated me to the "girl time" either. She had three daughters and always let me know I was not in the family by blood. It is so hurtful for a young wife/mother. Christmastime, al the girls would get a special gift and get to open them at the same time, except me.
At SS (Step son's) wedding in March MIL mentioned that DH's brother had a room in his house if she ever needed to live there. We shined over it but she sure pushed the fact we did not offer. I try not to be controversial, and not get sucked into making myself act poorly.

I haven't forgotten the beauty of God's handiwork.

Hello my friends-DD is off on another adventure today. She is headed to Port-A-Prince, Haiti, with a group of teens/adults from the church. They will be roofing & constructing walls on a church building already framed. Please keep her in prayer, for safety of course, but more for God to touch her heart & help her grow in Him even more through this experience.
Thanks,
Joni
-
Joni, she will grow in God's grace re-building a church! Wait until she sees how grateful the parish is for her to be doing that. It may put life into perspective for her. How very noble of her to give her time like that!
-
kc - praying God will open up the perfect job for you. He is Jehova Jira our provider! Believing with you for employment provisions. (hug)
-
Faithroad ~ Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! Thank you for reminding me that he is Jehova Jira! ((hugs)) back to you
Thank you too Meece and what a precious little hand. God's handiwork is awesome!!Joni ~ I will definitely keep your daughter in prayer. My daughter was in Haiti last October, it was very eye opening and she said that God really moved. Also could not get over how the people worshipped God with everything in spite of having nothing.
Jo ~ Your hubby sounds like a gem!

Remember to take a walk in the woods. What better place to talk to God
-
Looks very serene! We all need serenity-can I have an AMEN?
-
Amen.
Just popping thru to see that our wonder-family is hangin' in.
Joni. I am so proud of your daughter for offering her time & life in a place where both are so needed. You must be so very proud!
Tonight was my first concert in a series of 14 over the coming week. This time next week I will be exhausted, but hopefully still smiling. Tonight was so much fun. Public library. We had a lovely crowd, from 17 month old cherub to pre-teens and everything possible in-between. Quite a few 'teacher' families and they (the adults) were so supportive and responsive afterward.
Think some good thoughts for me. I appreciate being in a circle of believers.
BTW: my DH will do all of the driving, hauling and lifting to all of these many events. It was exhausting 10 years ago, when I did it before BC, back when I had few of the BC cares of LE etc etc. So I told him I could only accept the invitation if he was willing to be my #1 roadie. I am so fortunate to be able to continue to do the work I love.
Prayers to all seeking an avenue to 'work' and share to the greater glory.

Faithroad, who is Johova Jira? I'm interested to hear new things....
-
Barbe-I think she meant Jehova Jira, one of the names the Israelites gave God.
DD & company are in Haiti-about an hour ago all 25 people + all luggage + all tools + all food were piled onto 1 bus traversing a bumpy dirt road....safety, safety, safety!!!
-
Barbe ~ Joni is right, it is one of the names the Israelites gave God and it means the Lord who is my provider. There is a song about it, I will paste it on here.
Jehovah Jireh
My provider
His grace is sufficient
For me, for me, for me
Jehovah Jireh
My provider
His grace is sufficient for me
My God shall supply all my needs
According to his riches in glory
He will give His angels
Charge over me
Jehovah Jireh cares
For me, for me, for me
Jehovah Jireh cares for meThere are others: Jehovah Rapha - The Lord that heals, Jehovah Shalom - The Lord that is my peace, etc. Here's a link to a site that I googled that 'splains it better if you want to take a peek
http://www.absolutebiblestudy.com/Word/The_Seven_Redemptive_Names_of_God.htm Joni ~ Praying for your wonderful DD!Faith ~ Praying for strength and energy for you and your hubby! -
" Thought I'd share some lovely peonies from the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. We aren't able to grow them here in Florida, just too hot. My sister, the artist, puts these in many of her paintings. God is so good to give use the beauty of so many flowers. Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
-
Barb, sorry about the typo.
Eph and mbt are right. I meant to say Jehovah-jireh: The Lord will provide. I should have double checked the spelling. Thanks for correcting me, I need all the help I can get!
I have a book called "To Know HIM by Name" by Kay Arthur.
And below is a link to Amy Grant singing El Shaddai, it's very beautiful.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jy5XA4SwuPg&feature=related
El Shaddai: The All-Sufficient One
El Elyon: The God Most HIgh
Adonai: The Lord
El Roi: The God Who Sees -
Faithraod ~ I love, love, love that song by Amy Grant, thanks for the reminder!
Mary ~ Thanks for the pic of the flowers, they are lovely.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
