Hoping to get an update Meece; I am just sick about the dogs!! Your son must be over the top sick....
Thanks for bringing a bit of joy back to the thread Mum, the shots are spectacular (as expected!) and your daughter is just stunning!
-
OK, babies & weddings & lyrics to one of my all time favorite hymns & in danger dogs....how on earth do you think I'm going to keep from crying my eyes out today???
-
Came in tonight holding my breath.
Praying for continued shelter in the 'storm' for our new little "garden" family.
You know what I love the best about the new baby pictures?? Seeing Meecie, up close and smiling ear-to-ear. What a gorgous gramma. BTW. Have you chosen your grannie name?
I realize that you've had a few details on your mind, but inquiring minds want to know.
Just wanted you to know I've got you at the top of my prayer list.
xx00xx00xx00xx
Hugs all around the garden.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
The Cathedral shot is just glorious.
-
Mum, the pics were just beautiful. How can you have a daughter that age? You are so young yourself
Meece, hoping all is well and yes, I too told my DH tonight about your plight and we are concerned about the big doggie babies. Prayers for all of them and you to have some peace. How is the new job going? -
First of all, the fire has been backed up 5 miles. They are still not allowed to go to their home for any reason, but Drew went to the gun shop he frequents and talked to some friends and they are going to send someone from one of the animal shelters to go get the dogs. Apparently, the animal shelter people have the authority to enter the evacuation zone. They should be able to return to their home tomorrow barring any unfortunate winds carrying embers their way.
DS is a bit upset today as they have made arrangements to stay with friend, but it seems Beth's stepmother isn't comfortable visiting at someone else's home and is insisting on keeping Beth and the baby at the hotel with them. And Beth is obliging. This is not the time to put added strain on the marriage but the step mom is insistent. So Drew is "allowed" to take them back to the friends' after dinner as long as he brings them back to the hotel in the morning. Drew feels like they; are really taking advantage of the friends, and the hotel has no where for them to sit, so he must sit on the floor. He's not a happy camper right now.
Want to know how I know posting Onward Christian Soldiers was devine inspired? I was at work today and a young co-worker (23) who never indicates any inclination of religious faith began singing that very song out of the blue. He's always singing lyrics from rock songs and this was the first time he sang a Christian song. Go figure!
I haven't come up with any speical name other than Gramma. He's my little "Patch".

What do you know, my website server is my DS there in Arizona, and the server is now down, so all of my pictures are offline! Bummer! I must find another way!
-
Here is Patch yesterday before we left, lying in the cradle I built in 1983 for my babies!

-
OOH Meece....I wish families stay out from their children business.
I know you missed him already. I miss him from the pictures and throwing kisses to him through the Internet.
Did you get some rest?
Everything is gonna get better in time. I understand it's a difficult time for the entire family.
HUGS♥

Meece, yesterday I had my DS and his family over for father's day. Also invited the fiance's mother and father. Well, the other grandmother got in the pool (we were all in the pool and so was Jacob) and she decided to dunk him under. Let me tell you, my son let her have it. Jacob came up sputtering and crying. My son, Josh, told her this was "his" son and if he decides to teach Jacob to go under, it will be when he is ready. She got all upset and I just ignored her. A bit of background, Josh almost drowned when he was in first grade. It's ashame when others forget that the parents of that baby are grown ups and it is not about us anymore, it is about them.

Well said Mary

This is a verse I found as a youth that has been close to my heart. I have no idea who wrote it. I'm not even sure if I got it right
Even before becoming a believer my heart long to know God, to one day see His face. Just wanted to share it with you. Let me behold your face Son of God,
My soul has need of this,
Let me look long into Your matchless grace
Shall overflow and thy great love dismiss
The world filled with pettiness
Oh Christ I need to View
The way we wander lead far afield
Our dreams are but moths in flight
There is no harvest the heart can yield
Apart from Thee that can with stand times bright
O Christ Thy face I long to see
Let my horizens all be converged in Thee

Beautiful, evebarry. God works within us to give us every chance to come to Him.
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ: Philippians 1:6Welcome, lilyn!
He is faithful!!! The kids are going home and the inlaws are suppose to head out this morning as well.
DH came home last night and asked if I would consider heading back to AZ on 4th of July Weekend. Would I consider it???? I passed it by DS and he got sooo excited. He asked if we could help him finish painting the kitchen (which has been under repair since they had a flood and mold). I helped him finish painting and putting up decals in the nursery Saturday so he must be inspired again. I appreciate when they ask for help.

Thank goodness our little family is holding together in the face of adversity.
Prayers will continue, Meecie.
This is the first thread that I'm checking these days.
My daughter has a truly unfortunate relationship w her MIL. I'll just give one example which is such a "classic" that it will illuminate all. I know that you will all LOL and at the same time be outraged. When Sarah&Scott moved into their very first home they were so excited. It was a fixer-upper. They bought ceramic tiles to create a back splash above the kitchen counter tops.
They had one 'basic' set of tile and then they bought a dozen fancy-schmantzy tiles to inset in the regular tiles to create some visual interest. S&S did this project together and applied the ceramic tiles to their wall. They were so proud of their finished project.
One day not much later, my daughter came home from work. Are you ready for this?
Her MIL had let herself into their home. REMOVED the tiles & grout!!!! Then she "rearranged" the spacing of the decorative tiles, because she didn't like the way the kids had done it.
I kid you not. I promise to you -- this is a gen-u-ine, true story.
Can you imagine?????????
This is just the tip of an iceberg, that is more sad than anything else. I just long for her to have had even a 'tough' relationship with her MIL. Their's is nothing short of a soap-opera of epic proportions.
Moral to the story?
(I don't have a moral-to-the-story). My heart aches for my daughter, the amount of completely nonsensical pain that has been so very needlessly created. It really truly could be a book.
Women. Be the best MILs you can possibly think of..... listen to your adult children & treat them as adults. Respect their parenting yada yada.....
There are so many times when I just shake my head over some of this woman's antics. My DD has called & sobbing in tears so many times.......
End of rant.
Back to happy baby pics and please, Mum, more wedding pics.... and some garden pictures folks, people's flowers must be pretty by now?
-
Love ALL the pictures! Congratulations to mum and Meece! God is good, and always with us - even in trials!

When I was a young married wife, my husband and I bought his parents's home. We moved when Drew was 5 weeks old and I had my hands full. MIL put all my kitchen stuff away while I was napping. She put everything away in the exact place she had had it, without asking me. It took years to get the kitchen to working arrangements for ME!
I asked Drew how I could help them this past weekend, and he asked me to finish painting and help with the decals. I am so happy he asked. I can't imagine how your daugher felt about the tile. I could see myself ripping the tile and grout out and putting it back the way we had it. That may or may nothave put her in her place.
I have no relationship with current MIL.
-
I had a MIL like that with my first marriage. It was horrid so I can empathize. I am SO concious of every word I say in front of my kids' spouses that sometimes I must seem too quiet!!! I am dying to help the two that have houses to decorate with (WITH) them, but can't push. Interestingly enough, we were asked to paint both babie's rooms!!
-
My DS and his family live about 5 miles away from us. I, too, have had a very strained relationship with my MIL because of her need to dominate everything. We actually never moved back to Louisiana because we knew we could not be near her or we'd kill her. Barbe, I sometimes think my son and his family may think I'm being too quiet because I do NOT push myself on them. I learned from experience and I so much want to have a relationship with all of them. My soon to be DIL and DS live across the street from her parents and it is a real problem. That set of grandparents have no clue about boundaries and do not realize they are adults to make their own decisions. They very much want to move, but real estate climate is terrible right now.
Please say a quick prayer for me today if you think of me. I came home with a terrible migraine yesterday, went to bed @ 6:30 pm and got up at 10 this morning. I stayed home today. I know this is all work related and my stress/anxiety level is over the top. I make a very good living financially, but the stress sometimes is more than I can take. Thanks ladies.
Meece, love the nursery picture. My grandson's room is painted very simiarly with the animals. I'm so happy for you and for your upcoming trip to be with them.

My first husband was like that Jo. His mom even folded his clothes, after washing and ironing them AND put them away. He was 25!!! Didn't do ME any favours, did she. All my kids learned how to do laundry at about 11-12. He would leave ME to take a bus home from work, but would go pick her up. He'd mow her lawn, leaving me to do mine. Everyone thought he was SO nice....look how well he took care of his mom. His dad didn't even like it!!
