I was just washing dishes and looking out over the pool and saw a little lizard with his head hanging down over the pool. Then it moved over a little and did the same thing. So I went out saw his/her friend drowing in the pool, so I got the pool net and got him/her out and it ran off. So, maybe the little lizards take care of each other, who knew?

After watching a Canada goose give its mate the Heimlich maneuver when it was choking I'll believe most anything in creature behaviour.

Wow, lots to respond to when I haven't been around all week! North Jersey sucked, conference in MD/DC was good, but back to back travelling weeks don't work well for me anymore...I'm totally exhausted
3Jays, you're in my thoughts so very much for so many reasons. Love and hugs and hope to you dear friend.
AmyJo, nothing wrong with a little pat on the back now and then ... you are a wonderful friend in here and you should know that.
Konakat ... I saw on another thread where people were talking about Elizabeth passing and I didn't know who it was ... that hurts
I'm tired of saying that we're glad our angels are no longer in pain and suffering. That's the downside of forming these friendships, which are true friendships in almost every way. When we lose a sister, it hurts like hell. I can see KK's avi so clearly and I'll miss it, and her posts and chats, terribly. The chat rooms were my first intro to BCO and we have a tradition of doing a Sunday night candle ceremony when we learn a chatter has died. Maybe that's something that would work here too, it's just hard because of so many diff time zones. So wherever you are at 8:00 local time Sunday night, stop for a minute and light a candle and share a memory of KK on the thread. If many of us happen to be here at the same time, it will almost feel like a chat room with active posts.
Hugs, big ones, to you all.

Mary, what a wonderful idea. GramE, wonderful sentiment.
-
this is sure an interesting color
-
That was the color of the roses in my bridal bouquet, and of the bridesmaids dresses. 45 years ago come August.
-
Mary - glad you are back. Hope you have time to rest and relax this weekend. Take care of yourself my friend. Hopefully you will get a little time off from all the traveling. And what a wonderful idea for Elizabeth. I'll be here at 8:00 Sunday evening.
Lisa - that rose is I think my favorite so far. It is beautiful as all of your pictures are. Thanks so much for sharing them with us.
GramE - I agree with BarbA - what a lovely sentiment.
BarbA - how are you doing? Will you be home tomorrow afternoon? I'll try to call (facetime) you sometime. Love you my friend.

Looks like it will be me starting things off at 8.00 tonight. Will set up my laptop so I can stay in the warmth of the living room.
We have been out for lunch and when we got back the house was quite cold. My sister doesn't think to turn the heating on in the hallway when she comes in. She did light the fire but that heats just one room which is how it was here. Older NZ houses do not have central heating but we do have gas heating through out the house and now with insulation our house is much warmer.
Its now early evening here and we had a such lovely afternoon. A very gracious lady from church invited us out to celebrate her life, she has recently turned 80. Today about 40 people helped celebrate with her. On her actual birthday3 weeks ago there were about 100 - we couldn't go that day as we were away. She has never married and as she said has worked all her life and would rather spend her money on her friends now while she can enjoy it too.
Must go and get a cup of tea which will do me at present, might have a sandwich later.
3jays, Amyjo, Marybe and everyone else I hope you are having a restful weekend.
Big big hugs

didn't want Alysons candle to be the only one.. another tommorrow night, too love you KK 3jays

Have a candle here for KK for memories, for fun and for life and living it to the full.
Life is like a game of cards. The hand that is dealt you represents determinism; the way you play it is free will.

I have a question on the candle lighting.....3jays told me to copy the candle I want to photobucket and then I could paste it.....does this work in the chat room? Is this where you are doing it? And which chat?....I recall when I used to go on Sunday nights there were two different chat rooms.

We can do it right here. That is what I thought Mary said. How are you feeling Marybe?

I am feeling fine. I just get extremely tired some days and yesterday was one of them. I talked to my sister today and said how I talked to my father and he said he would drive to here instead since I was so tired and she asked Is he OK to drive? and I said Frankly, I was so tired, I didn't care. Tim was to give him a ride back to here since he had gone to Portsmouth anyway for a wedding, but Oh no. stubborn father would not hear of that and he did make it OK so all is well. He said he really was worried and expecting me to be in much worse shape, but I said No sometimes I just get super tired and could not even think of driving 120 miles. Long answer I know, but yes I am fine. I am now going to go select a burning candle.

KK, I can still see your pretty face and it saddens me that I won't read any more posts, or "hear" you in chat. Marybe, I referred to how we used to gather in chat when someone died, but I did mean to just gather in here for KK tonight. Hugs all

I'm technologically immature so I don't know how to post a picture (I probably could but the few times I've tried I get majorly frustrated!!) so instead I will just say that altho Konakat & I shared a few posts & threads, I didn't know her very well. I feel the pain of her loss through you, her buddies, & am so angry that the beast just keeps on taking the brightest & the best! Blessings on her family and her friends...may her memory stay strong & bright!

Eph3_12 here is one from you to KK
Here is mine to remember the brightness and colorful spirit Elizabeth brought to our lives.
-
For Elizabeth. May she rest in peace.
-
Rest well Elizabeth.

Missing you, Elizabeth.
