Seems like I am the only one from the Flock checking in these days.... BUT I have had a strong week, took advantage of daily yoga classes and hiking outdoors without other worries.
Checking in with the Flock:
Friday check in = 3 pts
wgt is stable = 1 pts
water intake = 7 pts
exercise = 16 pts!
Extra credit: 1 for massage therapy, 1 for acupuncture (my first for neuropathy - not sure how it will go!), 1 point for appreciating the beauty of nature and giving thanks for a day of life (a BIG change in my attitude over the past 6 months!).
Total = 30 pts.
Michelle, I hope you are able to be kind to yourself as you care for your family. My heart is with you.
Yesterday afternoon, the CFO (about 50 years old) of the lodge where I am staying died during the swimming portion of a triathalon that he was doing with his son. All the staff and guests here are shocked. After such a beautiful gift of yesterday in my own life, I was reminded to think about the continuum of life and death, the meaning that we give to life, and the need to recognize each moment for what it is. May you each one experience lovingkindness today and each day this week.
Linda

Roadrunner checking in (almost forgot it is Friday)
Friday check-in = 3 pts
Weight (up) = 0 pts
Water = 5 pts
Exercise = 11 pts
Total = 19 pts
n2ypb - happy your mood has improved. You have 16 pts for exercise so that may have lots to do with it because of the endorphins so keep up the good work. Sad about the CFO; makes one remember that tomorrow is not promised,

Weight same as last week - 1 pt.
Exercise - 8 pts.

Challenge - A few weeks ago Suzwes posed a mini challenge which I won and she sent me a little 'prize' which arrived when I was in hospital for my recon surgery and it really cheered me up!! We said at the time that whoever won would be responsible for the next challenge - well I'm sorry I haven't been engaging so much lately - I'm just feeling a bit 'meh' - but here's the next challenge - Check in next friday And increase at least one point on this week in either your water or exercise total (or on your most recent post if you didn't post this week). That's very doable so anyone who meets the 'criteria' next week should let me know and I'll pick a name out of the hat and send you a little 'prize'!! I hope I'll have lots of names to put in the hat!!

Roadrunner checking in at 179 - woo hoo - FINALLY!
Meece I would love to see that number posted by my name!
Down from last week = 2 points
New E-LAB low = 1 point
Exercise = 13 points
Friday check-in = 3 points
Daily water = 7 points
Extra credit = 1 point ~ I bought a big water glass at Goodwill and brought it to work. I used to carry around a coffee cup and drink decaf most of the day. Now I carry around a water glass (and it is glass, not plastic) and drink water most of the day.
Total = 27 points
-
Checking in -
Water = 7 points
Friday check in = 3 points
Exercise = 6 points
Weight loss = 2 points (now 174 - my first goal was 175! Now I'd like to set a second goal of 160).
Extra point = 1 point - Oncology follow-up this week. Wasn't pleased with his unconcern about my right arm ache. He got very defensive when I questioned pre-lymphedema. This group doesn't believe it can happen and he clearly doesn't want ME questioning the scientific studies that HE is so familiar with! Oh well! But I'm really going to need more than one point to keep the next appointment in 6 months!!!!
Total = 20 points
I accept the challenge of one point more by next Friday - goal is at least 21 points!
-
Hummingbird Checking in:
Making the Friday Check-in = 3 pt
Maintained weight: 1 pts
Exercising = 1 point for each 30 minutes of exercise=17pts
Meeting daily water intake = 1 point per day 7 pts
Total points 28 pts -
Roadrunner checking in
It's Friday - 3 points
Weight - up again - no points
Exercise - 14 points
Water - 7 points
Total - 24 points

Seriously, it's Friday???
That means I've made it thru my week of challenge!!! LOL
Almost.
Check-in: 3 points
Weight: 2 points -- down from last week!
Water 4 points, just not enough time to think straight
Exercise: 18 points, difficult to calculate, but took the WonderPeeps to the park every day and did some serious, pushing of 3 children in swings, chasing on slides, hiking to the murkie swamp, carrying of tumbles, piggy back rides, but the most is from taking approx 37 trips up and down their steps on a daily basis. I'm used to single-floor living and this constant up & down has been a wake up call.
Extra credit: 1 point. While this has been exhausting beyond description I am indeed tickled that I could offer a week of respite to my DD and her DH/newly returned from Iraq. Yesterday was his birthday and the wedding they attended sounded like a ball -- on the beach.
I learned that I would rather have 400 kindergartners for an hour that 3 kiddos 5 and under for the whole day 24/7 for a week: LOL.
They are to arrive tomorrow sometime.............
Total = 28 points and I will work hard to add to that total to get my name in a hat!!! What an upbeat idea Suz and now 'hat's off' to our Ainm for a very manageable challenge.
Life indeed is without choreography when it comes to abrupt endings. Learning to appreciate what we have is indeed the gift.
xx00xx00xx00xx
Congrats to our Meecie for her new grandson. Please take good care of yourself in all of the excitment. Sending prayers for your DIL's continued recovery and your dear wonder-babe..... and that the fire be somehow kept at bay in the midst of it all.
***Anyone else in the praying mood, our dear leader has really been put thru the wringer yet again. I know that she would appreciate well wishes & encouragement.

Thank you mimi, I didn't have the scanxiety I used to have. Hope your work situation resolves itself, it is just so stressful to work in such an environment, my last job before I retired got to be like that in the last two years I was there, and it was a chore just to be there. Sending you soothing thoughts to get you through it. Karen
