Lisa, it was a lot of fun. The railway starts in Clarksdale, a very small town in northern AZ, near Sedona.

QCA, you have some legal recourse in civil court I think. I'm pretty sure I saw a very similar situation on Judge Judy and "your side" prevailed.   But to keep peace, I'd probably do like BarbaraA, and Isabella suggested. You have every right to be concerned!! Invasive plants can be a real nightmare.

3jays, I hope your new docs just fix you right up; and so glad you had a good day & got some bargains.

Isabella, I hope the dentist trip went ok.

Computer is home, but has a new screen look; and it is still being "fixed." There will be a new normal to adjust to. DH is taking a break after spending all day yesterday and 3 hrs today...

Amyjo, I like that rail car, and yes, we would 'just' hook to an engine going our direction.

I have a photo of my grandma & grandpa riding the train to the top of Pike's Peak, 1917. She was about 6 or 7 months pg with my mom at the time, but with the duster women wore at the time you could hardly tell.  I so admired her adventurous spirit!

We, DH, DS and I, took the train in Colorado up to Silverton and there were pockets of snow in the month of July.   Memory fails me as to the town it began in, but we stayed overnight 2 nights and it had good restaurants, wide sidewalks for strolling and the hotel was superb.   They had a minimum of food on the train and a picnic type box lunch outdoors at the top of the mountain.   It was a coal powered train and if you stood out on the platform, you got covered in soot - don't wear a white shirt or blouse.....   The scenery was spectacular - rugged, steep Rocky Mountains, unlike anything back East and waterfalls and woodlands.

Isabella just remember to keep breathing at the dentist.  Hope future visits are bearable and you will not be so anxious.

Barb and Lisa - do I hear a the possibility of a new suggestion for a reunion?  How fun would that be for a bunch of us to invade an adventure train tour - 1st class of course. Smile  Maybe worth a thought.

Taxes are finally done with one day to spare.  WooHoo!

Thanks to all who responded to my bamboo request!  LC,  I didn't see that one on Judge Judy, but I agree that she'd be on my side--don't think I'd ever want to be in her tv court though, that's for sure.  I think I'll talk to these neighbors and tell them about what Barb and Isabella suggested and see what we can come up with.  Some of DH's buddies cut down some of the canes to use as tomato stakes,  but they couldn't drive them into the ground.  The stuff also sizzles and pops if you put it in a big bonfire.

Isabella, what you mentioned is the main ingredient in Round-Up herbicide, which I can get, and Barb, the galvanized steel plate sounds like it would help a lot too.  The main thing that would help would be to get our neighbor to join if the effort to get rid of it all, but I don't know how likely that'll be until I talk to them.

AmyJo, I'm cheering for you---AT LAST the taxes are done and mailed!!  What a load off your mind!

Oh Isabella, I'm thinking so hard for you with your dental saga--hope the valium will help you get through it.

Kathy...the herbicide I mentioned IS Round-up here as well...didn't know what it was sold under in US. I have used it a fair bit this year, on areas where I'd normally have spent many a happy hour hand weeding.

We will all miss her and all she shared with us.  At least now she is resting with no more pain from BC.  This is going to sound horrible to some, but maybe we should have a party to celebrate all that she was to us here on these BCO boards.  Wishing healing for all the broken hearts over the loss of Konakat, KK, Elizabeth, which ever name you knew her best by.

AJ, that is a great idea and I know she would love it. Should we start a new thread?

BarbA - I don't know about starting another thread as there seems to be several thread already devoted to Elizabeth  Maybe is would be good for all of us to get back to our Spirited and Lively selves if we have our own celebration to all she gave to us on all the other threads we shared with her.  Maybe everyone remember some advice or something funny she said or some other way she help us individually get through part of our journey on this BC road.

Words cannot express all the love, encouragement and support all my BCO sisters have given me since the start of my journey.  I love you all and so appreciate your just always being there for me and each other.

Reposted this to other threads so all my sisters would know what I am feeling.
