    Roadrunner checking in.

    Friday check in - 3

    Water intake - 7

    Exercise - 10

    Maintained weight - 1

Extra credit - 1 Finally painted the front door, been putting it off for nearly 4 months but found the will power to just get it done. Weather was nice enough to leave it open slightly so the paint wouldn't stick to the moulding.... yeah, really a great accomplishment for me!

Total for week 22 - Did you notice I put the weight as far down on the list as possible? I just can't seem to make that scale budge any lower... what is this 5 weeks at the same weight? What's with this????

    Jumpin' Jack Rabbits, It's Friday.

    I just got the memo...............

Check-in: 3 points (just barely, had to turn my laptop back on)

    Water: 7 points

    Exercise: 13 points

Weight: Down a smidge, 2 points

Extra point: Got my real-live, physical bicycle out and road around the big-block several times. I love riding my bike up here (northern WI, for summer) and last summer my LE arm kept me to going round and round the block. The previous summer I rode 837 miles. I am going to go very slowly and see if I can get off the flat-lands and out into the real world, but one way or another I will be riding. ONE POINT!!

    Total = 26 points

Kudos to everyone who continues to stick with the program, welcome back Don23, keep at it folks. keep at it. Being accountable to the group is worth a ton of points!!!

Ainm. You have every reason to have taken a break. We're here with open arms.

Wagon?  There was a wagon?  Dang, I missed it!

    Roadrunner checking in.

6 pts water - my co-workers drank up all the water on our floor, and I was too busy to get some more one day.

20 pts exercise - running around like crazy in the galleries, taking the dogs for a walk, etc.

3 pts for checking in on a Friday - still my Friday!

and TA-TA!  2pts for weight down.  Yay!!!  Not below my e-lab high, but lower that my recent highest high.

31 pts total, and I'm so glad the weight finally moved down.

Meece--I've found that dollar store batteries won't even start to run my digital camera, or much of anything else either.  What a pain!

    Ainm--no apologies allowed!

Good for you, O2B!  I like being on the bike, watching TV or listening to a book on tape or music.  Unfortunately, at my house there's no room inside, so it stays in the sunroom which is too hot now.  So I go to the gym when I can stir my conscience and my bod.

Great price o2b, I am just getting ready to climb on, had lunch with the 8 women in the Western New York group, so nice to put names to faces, we chattered through the whole lunch.  Lunch lasted 4 hours!  I have a friend who may be joining us on the thread, I've been bragging on us and the support you find here, she is almost there.  hugs, Karen

hey zogo, to answer your question, I started a walking program in March 2010.  Mostly, it was based on advice I got here to stay active during chemo.  I set a goal of 500 miles based on a song by the Proclaimers.

At that time, I didn't have a pedometer so I mapped out three routes with my car's odometer.  A really short walk (a quarter mile around the block), a medium walk and a longer walk (2 miles).

By Dec 31, I had racked up 496 miles so considered that goal met.  I bragged about it to my onc and he said to increase the goal to 600 for the next year.  So I did.  That's the 1,100 miles you see in my signature line.  I will reach that goal soon, then increase it to 2,000.

My advice is to start slow but try to walk every day, even if it's just around the block.

Also buy a five-dollar pedometer, wear it all day long, and keep track of your mileage.

    Hope that helps!  {{hugs}}

Sorry Lady Hummingbirds, I have been awfully busy looking after my Dad.  He fell and broke his right wrist and of course he is a righty.  The head nurse at the assisted living wanted him to have 24 hr care for a few days, which ended up 5 days.  This is costing a bundle between family and homecare.  Homecare is over 1000.00 right now.

    Hummingbird Checking in:
    Making the Friday Check-in = 3 pt
    Maintained weight: 1 pts
Exercising = 1 point for each 30 minutes of exercise=17pts
Meeting daily water intake = 1 point per day 7 pts
    Total points 28 pts

    I am so stressed!

Hello friends - Finally have internet at home as of late last night - a bad storm went through on May 29th (uprooted a huge tree in the back part of our 10 acres) - we didn't loose power but lost cable and internet.  It's been very painful Wink  So busy at work that this is rare in the past few weeks that I've been able to get on BC.org.

I'm way up on the weight after Mum and I had our fun cruise.  I started following the Dr. Oz superfast slim down plan this week and am hoping for some good results.  It seems like a very healthy and well balanced eating plan.  Need to find time to exercise.  UGH.  Such a busy time of year.

Now that I have internet again at home I will get the Robins caught up on their summaries.  Keep it up ladies.

So sorry about your dad Deborye.  It's so hard taking care of parents when something bad happens to them.  My FIL was immobile his last two years and the homecare expense was incredibly expensive.  I wish I was closer and I could help you a little bit.  Best wishes for his speedy recovery.

Have had to tone down the exercise, it is just too hot to be biking, am only managing 15 minute sessions with the fan blowing directly on me.  Am gradually taking off the weight I put on during my extended family holiday.  Tomorrow it is going to be in the 80's and humid, will have to execise in the early morning and late evening.  Deborye, sorry to hear of your Dads injury, the cost of care is ridiculous.  You still managed to post a high number for the week, congratulations.  You should have added a point for extra credit for managing despite your Dad's fall.

Yikes! Must have been a bad week for getting on that wagon! Sorry to let the Flock down this week - was out of town with family over the weekend, forgot to check in, but DID manage to gain a pound and get some walking in.  I forget whether the Friday check-in point is for the previous Friday or the day we are checking in....

Friday check in - 3 from last week (so won't get one this next week?)

    Water intake - 7

    Exercise - 8

    Gained weight - back to 88 - 2

    Total - 20 points

Have been thinking of you all.  Have a great rest of the week and will try to see you here again on Friday!

Today is our Captain Suz BIRTHDAY!!!

Everyone is charged with making one brilliant, responsible choice today in her honor.

Exercise for Suz.... (Use Ainm's standard of everyone can do 10 minutes -- no excuses acceptable)

    Make a healthy eating choice.

    Drink your water.

    Let's honor Captain Suz!!!!!

Blowing beachie-bubbles to cool everyone off:

    Can you feel the breeze?

    Thank you Faith!

I made two great choices for breakfast and my snack - I had a small california blue crab roll with brown rice (thanks to Dr. Oz for that suggestion - not for breakfast but for a meal and I say why not breakfast) and 1/2 a cup of Kashi go lean crisp (w/o milk cause milk reeks havoc on my tum-tum).  Woo Hoo

I won't be able to say much this afternoon cause the gals at work ordered me a special Banana Cake with cream cheese frosting (my very favorite) for my birthday.

    Lets go ladies!

Also, thanks for the cool breeze Faith - we're supposed to be in the upper 90s today with the heat index in the 100s - very unusual for Michigan but a nice gift for me cause I love hot - hate cold!

I take back the "it is great", it is too hot and close.  Did not do well on exercising today, everytime I tried to do more than the first 15 min., I was drenched in sweat, certainly got my water intake though!

Gluten-intolerant here - have learned to get my jollies by just looking and smelling all those cakes, pies, breads and cookies!  I nibble occasionally, when I think I can get away with it.  Of course, I then suffer.  Sigh.  They sure smell good, though...

Happy belated celebration of the day of your birth, Suz!
