3 years ago today...
3 years ago today my biggest health problem was not being able to run because I was still healing from meniscus (knee) surgery. My kids were 13 and 16 and my father and brother in law and my favorite dog, Ella, were all still alive. I wasn't 40 yet. I hadn't run longer than 9 miles yet and my 5k time was about 30 mins.
and I didn't know I had cancer.
----
I am 42 now, I have run a marathon, 4 half marathons, 1 and a half triathalons and I run 9 miles most weekends for my long runs. Yesterday I ran 13 miles to help pace some friends through a 26.2 mile marathon on a hot, humid challenging course when I planned on only running 6 to help out. My 5k time is almost 5 mins faster. My daughters are 16 and 19 and one is in college. I have a pug now. I miss my dad and my brother in law and my favorite dog, Ella.
I will never forget that I had cancer.
I live life, I love everyminute.

Wonderful post Mary.
I wear one of your T shirts cycling, as in my avatar picture.
Congrats on the running. I need to get my cycling speed up. Butt is sore from all the action this past weekend. Should count for something.
Otherwise stay cool. - Claire

Mary,
You have run this race with courage, and changed the lives of so many along the way, including mine, for the better. I'm lucky to have found you, though I wish it were under better circumstances.
Long may she run.
