Glad to hear from everyone. I actually go to Scotland on May30th. My daughter leaves May 2nd to Europe and \i will meet her in Scotland on the 31st. I am feeling excited for her but also nervous. She has never been away for that long before.
Kelly, sorry to hear had a meltdown. I have only had one MRI on my tummy for the breasts and remember drooling all over the place, they kept saying don't move. I do have a freind that goes for a lot of MRI's she has had brain surgery and she says she takes a pill to relas and puts a facecloth over her eyes to relax her. Hope the next one goes well.
Sandy, must be crazy if they can't find anything. It is good if there isn't anything but it must cause you worry.
Leggy, so you have made the decision to seel your place, have you decide where you want to go to live now\\?
HunkyD...hope all is well with you. when is your surgery?
Bonnie...how are things?
Well we have a slight higher temperature, we did have snow a week ago and now it is raining alot. The sun does peek its head out now and then. A sign of spring here is when the robins come back, I have been seeing more and more of them.
Hope you all enjoy the weekend to come.
TTFN... in scottish it is PRONOUNCED TAH TAH FUR NEW.

Hi girls, we had one couple look at our house this week, but now I'm hoping no one wants to buy it. I've been looking around for places to move to, and the rent is as high, as what I'm paying here. I do have my eyes on Missoula MT. now, which is near enough to my aunt, and my mom's relatives are all over Montana.
I got my card in the mail for my mammogram at the end of May, oh boy something to look forward to.
Take care
-
Wow Leggy, never been to Missoula but have been in portions of Montana. It would be a lot different there for sure. I am headed for cataract surgery tomorrow. Thanks for the info on that Bonnie. I really am not nervous as I have been through so many surgeries already, and am already non sighted legally out of that eye anyway. Keeping this short....stuff to get ready. Surgery is out of town....hugs to you all and hopw all are feeling ok! HunkyD
-
Good luck HunkyD! You'll be a sight for sore eyes....sorry couldn't help it. My aunt lives in Flathead Lake County Montana, and she's invited me to stay with her this summer. So I figured I'd drive up through Oregon and Washington. There's a family reunion on July 8Th, so I'll probably get to MT on the 1st. It will be a fun 4th of July on the lake, and I want to see Glacier Park. I'm getting excited, it's been a long time since I had a vacation, and there's no time line. My aunt stays in MT for the summer and then goes to her house in Phoenix AZ for the winters, and now that she's widowed she wants some company. Wolfie will stay home with my mom.
Hope everyone enjoying spring!
-
Leggy my husband also has a family reunion on July 8th and a lot of them live in Missoula.
So maybe we are related?
Kelly
-
My mom's side of the family in MT, are Hartley's, and Watson's. Hi Kelly, what's shaken?
-
good luck hunkyD hope all goes well.
Leggy sounds like a nice trip
Feeling a little nervous today, my daughter leaves tomorrow for a month to Europe. She is so excited, I would be if I were her but being the mom, I am anxious. I know the weather is awesome over there so she should have great fun.
How is everyone else feeling?? I have a mammo on Wednesday but dont see the onc until July. I tell you, everytime I see my regular doc, she fins something with me, now I am going on cholestoral meds which I think could be caused by the arimidex. Then as she checks my lungs she says, do you know you have scoliosis, curvature of the spine. I said to her no, I dont see my back too much. Anyway, it is never ending. It is raining like mad today so it seems a bit dreary.
Hope everyone is well. Have a good week
Karen
-
Don't worry too much about the scoliosis, I have it as well and was told that just about everyone has it to some extent. I got a call from my GP's office and was told I had to come in to see her, in order to get anymore scripts filled. I hate it when they do that. I've been staying away from the hospital for a few months, and I like it that way.
On Friday morning I got up at 4am to watch The Wedding! Hey when your retired you can do whatever you want....They were so beautiful.
Take care ya'll
-
Hi.....my first chemo session is this Wednesday, 5/4/11. Good luck to you.
-
Hi gals. Had my eye surgery and things are looking good. Karen...nice to hear from you. Yes, we have a never ending battle it seems sometimes with age and cancer. Leggy, I also woke early to watch the royal hitch. I had to go to work though you little snot! Really, hope you are doing well and are having luck with your real estate. One place I would not want to be right now is the mid west. They have really had some bad storms. Just getting ready for Sunday dinner. We have a movie ready to watch also. Yes, tomorrow is a work day for me. Take care all of you...Hunkyd

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Mothers Day, whether you are a mother, sister, daughter.
Have a wonderful day.

Hello ladies,
just got beck from the cancer center and the diagnosis is in. My breast cancer seems to have moved into my liver and a lymph node next to the liver according to the Pet Scan. I have a biopsy next Thursday. Chemo discussed and may be taking Avastin and Taxol. Hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day.
LOL

Sorry to hear that news Sandy, keep us in the loop. Hi girls, not much new here from me, I did have to go for blood tests ordered by my GP, and my thyroid is through the roof, very high, which for some crazy reason means low....I don't know, anyway I have to see the Onc. on Wed., and repeat the blood test again. I've been on thyroid meds. for over 20yrs., so no big deal, they will up the meds again, but right now I'm tired, and my hair does seem to be falling out at rate higher than normal, and I don't have a lot to spare.
I still have plans to travel up to Montana, to stay with my aunt, for awhile, and I'll travel through Oregon and Washington, looking for a place I might want to move to.
Good luck everyone!

Leggy
I hope you enjoy you visits with your family, TRIFOLD! I've never been to Montana, Oregon or Washington. One of my chemo nurses goes on vacation out to Some place near Jackson Hole to hunt every year with her family and she loves it. She said she has so much fun that the cold doesn't brother her too much.
LOL Sandy

Hello and happy, wet, spring.
We are back from holiday with my dad. It was hard to be with my moms family without her but we did have a lot of time together and remembered all the fun we have been lucky enough to have had before she died. It is important to keep the cousins connected and this helped with that. My son had a great reception everywhere and was wonderful about caring for his sister every day. He really is a good kid and it was nice to be with him outside of the house so he can be himself around me not just my son. Does that make sense?
I could hardly move after all the traveling around but wasn't home 12 hours and had to get up and go to see the radiation oncologist. At one point he asked what was hurting and I told him it would be easier to say what wasn't (my right calf )! He was very helpful and I had to get an MRI and face mask and bite block made. I will go today for a CT scan and then start focused radiation on Friday or Monday and follow up with paratial brain radiation after that. I am scared but also glad to have a plan in place. I dreaded telling my family during the whole trip so I had to tell my dad and son last night. I told my older son that this really gave me an excuse for anything I do wrong as there is really no snappy comeback to "sorry, the brain cancer made me do it" He didn't really see the humor in it but I reminded him it is no good to sit and cry.
So could everyone give me a heads up on your health (boring but necessary) your life these days and any hopes or plans for the summer? I feel like we are drifting apart. Love to all of you, Kelly

Hi Kelly and anyone else around,
Not much happening on my end, I got a letter from my Oncologist saying I have an appointment for July 26. I suppose it is just a follow up as I haven't seen him since the very beginning of my breast cancer. There is another oncologist that works at the Duncan hospital where I had my treatments and I saw him through my treatments but since just my family doctor. The main oncologist is in Victoria at the cancer clinic. Maybe he will tell me I can go off my pills would that ever be nice and hopefully my hair would get a little thicker. My whole body hurts still, my muscles just drive me crazy but hopefully that goes with it all.
Kelly how are you doing with the cancer, good I hope if that is at possible, but of course it is lol.
Would like to go on a holiday this summer but it looks like we will have to stay home and just play in the yard if I can find anyone to play with - almost bought a badminton set the other day but it unfortunately takes 2 players - anyone up for a game lol.
Would really like to have been able to meet some of you although I don't know what is happening with everyone they must be just looking and not typing - I am so guilty of that some times.
Anyway Kelly you take good care of yourself and anyone else on here these days
Love you all
Bonnie

Hello
Just wanted to check in to see how everyone is doing. I hope everything goes well for you Kelly.
Good to hear from you Bonnie.
Well, I fly to Scotland tomorrow. I will toast all of you when I am there. I will see my daughter as well, I have missed her for the last month. It is only for 7 days, but I plan on seeing all I can and enjoying every moment. My one cousin, I will finally see him after 35 years. I cant wait.
I did have a mammo two weeks ago, haven't heard anything, so I will assume it was fine. I see the onc on July 2. That is never fun. Otherwise I am doing good, I have aches and pains and other weird things but I take it as the way it is now.
Take care everyone. Talk to you soon.
Hugs, Karen

Hi Ladies
My biopsy shows that recetors in my liver are the same as in my breast. I start chemo Wednesday, Avastin and Taxol.
Hope everyone had a happy memorial day.

Hi, I had my Mammogram yesterday, and it wasn't as painful as I anticipated, they have a digital machine. A couple of weeks ago, I saw the Onc., but it was uneventful, Thank God.
Nothing much new here, except we have a fox with a baby, under the neighbors shed behind our house, so in the evening before it gets dark, I can watch them outside my bedroom window. The baby is so cute, it plays just like a kitten, chasing its tail, and jumping at bugs. I have a bird bath, and it climbed up and got a drink, it was so fun. Luckily the few times I've seen the mom while I was outside walking Wolfie for his last pee of the day, Wolfie didn't see the fox, and it just went the other way.
It's been raining here, and it's hard to believe it's June. What happened to Global Warming anyway....
We still haven't heard from Wyoming, I hope she's OK. It's good to hear from you girls. Good luck to you Sandy, and all my prayers to you Kelly. KKing go Pub Crawling for us...

HEY gIRLS,
Well the se's have started. Pain Pain PAIN in my legs and thigh. Aleve did help, so I'm trying Advil again. So far it helps some. Got my hair cut today, it feels so much better. I'm doing Avastian and Taxol. A/T first week, T the second week, A/T the third week, fourth week off. Then I'll have a second round and the Onc wants another PET scan to see if there are any improvements. Well that's all for now.
LOL
Sandy

Oh Sandy, I just couldn't imagine going through that again, but we some how do it.
Prayers go out to all of you,
Love,
Jan

Hi girls. I am afraid I have had the beast come back also. I have been hospitalized 2 times this month. I can't say I am surprised at this. I have always had the gut feeling it would be back. I will start some sort of trt again soon. Guess like you say Leggy, "we somehow do what we have to do." I just wanted to let you gals know since we all started at the same place. It is a f'ng shit disease for sure. I hope you can put up with me through this horrible time! Hugs to you all and I will try and check in. HD
-
Hunky don't even say you hope we can put up with you of course, if there is anyone who will understand it will be on here. Where did it come back in may I ask? Maybe it will work out ok but it is always the unknown and the treatments that are so hard. I will say some prayers or whatever I have to do to help you out, as you have been very helpful for me at bad times.
Sandylou hope all goes well for you and there will be times that you feel like blowing somebodies head off and this is the place to come and let it all out. Good luck
LeggyJ glad your mammogram turned out fine, my doc ordered one for me not sure when it will be soon hope I have good luck also.
Love you guys, have to go now
-
I cant beleive all this. Sandy, sounds like you have a lot to face.
HunkyD... I cant beleive it has come back. That just sucks so much. I hope that you will be okay. You should come here all the time and let us know. We are all here for you.
LeggyJ, glad your mammo was good, I had mine two weeks agon and haven't heard, so I assume no news is good news.
Keeping you guys in my prayers. Hugs Karen

Hi everyone
Had my second tx yesterday. Drew blood cultures because I was running a fever Tuesday night late up to 101.5. I didn't bother to call the cancer center, I would have been tole to call first thing in the moring and I had an 8:15 am appointment. This week I had just the Taxol. About 2 minutes after the nurse started the drip i got excruceatin g pain in my lower back. I told one of the nurses and in less than a minute my onc and about 5 nurses were around me. Stopped the taxol, put me on saline and oxygen, gave me two injections, i don't remember one of shots but the other was ativan. Onc ordered the taxol be resumed at a slower rate. and I did fine until after tx and we stopped aT wALMART. I got one of electric scooters and ran into a couple of counters and almost ran my dh down and a couple of other customers. We left there and to stop and buy feed and he said I had to sit in the car and don't move. Today is Thrusday, nose keeps driping, dry foods, such as bread, crackers, etc. hurt the inside of my mouth to eat, guess I'll have to stick to real food and not junk. My finger tips fell tender while I type so I guess that's about all. Should of know the second time around of chemo wouldn't be as easy as the first. Just didn't think it would start so soon.
LOL
Sandy
-
Sandy, you made me giggle a bit with the walmart scooter story. Hilarious! Thanks for the good wishes girls. I have to sign off, my new pain meds are telling me to close my eyes the rest of the way.....Gnight....HunkyD
-
Oh shit, HunkyD, that just sucks. A few days ago, I got a call from radiology, and they spotted something, and need to take another look...sounds familiar doesn't it. Tomorrow, I have an appointment for another mammogram, followed by an ultrasound. It's been three years, girls and the shit just keeps rolling. I've been feeling really tired lately and today I threw up and feel like shit, funny thing is I just feel numb.
-
Sandy...hope you are feeling okay.
HunkyD how are you doing?
Leggy....I can't beleive this....is the three year mark a bad time or what.
I have to see my doc this week, go over the mammo and blood test. Will see what happens.
Thinking of all of you. Take care my Junies.
Karen

Just dropped by to see how everyone is doing.
Please let me know what is happening, no one seems to be posting.
Love Karen
-
Hi Kare, not much happening on here these days, don't know why maybe it is just because they are not feeling good enough to sit up and type on here. Not much happening in my life, get a mammogram on Monday just as a yearly check up. Weather here hasn't been that nice a lot of wind and rain although it seems to be clearing up now, hopefully it will stay. End of my excitement lol, although I am making a quilt for my daughter's 50th next year in May hopefully I will get it finished,
Take care all!
Bonnie
