TN Ten Pounds Take-Off

Fighter: It's true--I am feeling so much stronger. I seem to be able to work out about 5 our of 7 days a week so even if I don't completely adhere to my healthy diet, I am at least getting some results. I notice now when I walk I don't get out of breath any more and my legs are stronger, my but is higher and my waist is ever so slightly smaller. Baby steps. Haven't weighed myself yet this morning. Hoping I at least held my last check in. My DH and I decided to take the Michael Pollen Rules seriously. We completely cleaned out our refrigerator (wow, we can find things now) and he is now agreeing to participate in the shopping. In order to have super fresh food only, we will alternate days and only buy what we are eating for that day-no more buying for the week. We are really trying to get creative with the leftovers, too. Healthier days ahead!
-
MBJ- I am very careful w/ what I eat now. Not so much because of cancer but becuase I want to ward off any other health issues that maybe lurking. It's always a plus to cut sugar, fat, and salt down and eat things the way they are grown.
I can say I have made progress I changed my diet on Sept. 1, 2010 and I haven't looked back and I feel and look so much better.
CHEERS to us all!
-
I agree with everything you said except that I use lots of Celtic Sea Salt which is full of healthy minerals and it's very good for you. I supplement with Iodine, too and take 25 mg a day.
-
Good Morning Ladies.... I weighed in at 151 this morning.... I am having TE surgery and ooph on Thursday so working out will be a distant memory for a while. I am going to try to keep eating right and see if I can hold the weight. I hope everyone has a great day.
-
140 this morning! 5 more to go!
-
GO TITAN!!!! I have 6 more to go.
-
My muffin tops are are getting smaller..hee hee! The gut is still there though..it may be permanent though..I am over 50..no plans to wear a bikini anytime soon.
-
wahoo titan!!!!!!
-
I had a c-section 9 yrs ago and that will never go away... I think it got bigger through out chemo... uuuugggg.. But my muffin top is getting smaller as well.
-
I ahve been hovering at 160 and at 155 I have no muffin top but at 150 I can and will wear a bikini. giving myself 2 months to get there but I bought a Tankini for now
-
I wear all three: one piece, tankini and bikini. Just depends upon who I am with.
-
Heidi: All at once? Just kidding, lol! I have all three and for me it's dependant on what kind of day my body is having.
-
I haven't been in a bikini since 1997....
-
Actually, I wear my black and white tankinis when at the beach with my B&W Boston Terriers, my bikinis (lots of pirate patterns) when sailing (we have a pirate spinnaker and fly the Jolly Roger), and my black one pieces when out on another friend's boat and I need to appear more conservative... in other words... act my age.

Hi all,
Just found this thread. What do I need to do to join? I've been totally stuck at this weight which I so hate since November. My surgery was a year ago last March and I was 10 lbs lighter and had been hoping to lose 10 instead I gained 10. Not what I had in mind. However with everything last year, BC, flooded my house from the top down( don't ask), and then my beloved little dog died which I'm still devastated by. Anyway.... I work with a trainer - she will help with weight loss but primarily she helps me with balance and co-ordination as I have MS. I try and go twice a week but since I'm not on estrogen anymore I find it so hard not to be so very tired all the time. Anyone else have this problem. Also cooking for three kids makes the food challenge harder.
-
Stanzie: Hi there! I have noticed you mention in the past that you post on the insomniac threads. How are you sleeping these days? That would contribute alot to lack of energy during the day. Three kids is a handful, too. I didn't know about the dog--I am so sorry. I also didn't know about the MS-that has got to be a challenge!
-
Tracie: WOW!!!!
-
Heidi: You too!!! I am so motivated by each and every one of you. 129 !!!!!!
-
MBJ..wow! that Tracie hasn't been in a bikini for 14 years or that she has lost so much weight? HA HA.
Ok..I wear a tankini...you know..sometimes I think that a one piece suit shows more unflattering parts of the body than a 2 piece suit..I've never liked them...
What about cellulite? Ewww! I just found some on my stomach and on my left thigh..sorry. probably tmi.
Anyway..since I have lost the 10 pounds I decided to indulge today..had chips and dip and a real COKE.. and you will be proud of me MBJ..I had a cheeseburger...but it was Certified Angus Beef Natural Prime beef., no additives, no hormones, nothing...it was awesome!
-
Titan: mmmmm cheeseburgers! Sounds like you are having a fun day! Cellulite found me,lol! err, that's why I am here trying to lose it.
-
I'm still plugging away with my pedometer and daily exercise and eating sensibly. Took my dog to the vet and he needs to lose a few pounds so I vowed to take him out every night for a long walk now that the warm weather is here. I did indulge at lunch a bit today when I went for Afternoon tea with a co-worker. It was lovely. We had scones with clotted cream and jam, little sandwiches and tiny desserts all served on a tiered stand.
-
Sometimes I feel like I look like a balloon with most of the air let out. Just feel flabby, but at this point I am no longer motivated to tone up like I was a few years ago, especially since our local Curves closed. I'm just happy to be alive and maintaining @ 130.
Stanzie- I've added your name to the list--- just post your weight and I'll update as necessary.

MBJ - I'm finally doing much better on sleep. Melatonin has finally kicked into working and kicked out my on again off again SO so no snoring helps too! I can just tell such a huge difference in energy and well frankly everything without estrogen.
Titian - I certainly agree tankini are certainly the most comfortable of bathing suits. Amazes me to look at my 13 DD and think Wow, I never had a body like that! Thin and muscular with long long legs..... sigh.
-
heiditoo, I love curves ....If I didn't have them I don't know what I would do.
-
Well, I haven't worn a bikini since before 1988 when I got pregnant the first time - lol! I'm 5'5" and a healthy weight (130), but my tummy is saggy no matter how much I work my abdominals.
And as for cellulite, Titan, yeah I can relate. My upper legs get worse every year - even though I power walk/run 15 miles a week, do squats etc. Also have vericose veins, ugh. Bad genes, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
-
I don't think cellulite is my problem. I just feel "baggy".... everywhere. I look at all the young toned bodies and sigh..." I was one of them a gazillion years ago". Growing old ain't for wimps. Going through BC Tx makes you feel older sooner IMO.
-
OK, I admit it. I have been reading and not posting. I am totally disgusted with myself. I have been exercising 3 to 4 times a week but my eating habits are HORRIBLE. I never feel satisfied and I never feel full. I am hungry all the time. I am also a stress eater. It is a terrible circle. I eat poorly or too much....then get mad at myself.....then eat something else to feel better.
I am done whining now. 173 this morning. Just pitiful.
Congrats to all of you that are doing so good at maintaining a healthy lifestyle. You are a great example of how to take good care of yourself.

NavyMom as long as you are exercise and keeping the heart rate up. Just keep moving. Hey I go up and down myself.
I am down two pounds, and I think it is HEAT related. I sweat sooooooooo bad when I walk at night. Yep night.
-
Yep Tankini for me as well. My back side is juicy so I must cover all that up! LOLOL
