Lol, a bikini is my motivation.  You guys are doing great.  For those just starting, don't get discouraged.  It takes awhile for working out or eating right to become a habit and the goal may be to lose 10 or more lbs, but it's also to get healthy.  Just keep doing it!  I have been sticking to my working out at least 5 days a week.  Guess I better weigh in.

132.8 this morning.  Thought it would be more.  Had an Aunt die from a heart attack and a stroke and her funeral was on Saturday.   I literally had cake Friday, Saturday and again yesterday.   Just took a 40 minute walk with a friend from work and am now eating a salad with some leftover chicken.  No more cake for me.  I have to get down at least by 3 before I see the doctor again in June.

guygirl:  So sorry to hear about your aunt.  Sometimes we just have to eat cake and then get right back up on that treadmill. You can do it!!!!

Great job ladies.  I am still holding steady.  It boggles my mind.  Ate good, was active all weekend, ball games, fair (I did have a 1/2 a piece of fried dough), biked and the pounds dont come off.  WTH.  Getting very frustrated.  I think another blood test is in order soon to see if my thyroid levels have changed again.

JenC:  It could very well be your thyroid, especially if you had radiation.  Also, chemopause can mess with our weight.

That was what I was thinking also because I had my thyroid removed in January of 2010 and my levels have fluxuated during chemo but they have kept me on the same dose of synthroid.  Thinking I may ask for an early blood test.  I also did have radiation to so a whole bunch of whamies...  I was in chemo pause since May of 2010 and just got a full blown period this month UGH.  One thing after another.  Oh well, at least I am here :)

JenC:  I saw some other women who had radiation end up with Hashimotos or other thyroid problems.  I am surprised this isn't always checked after what they put our bodies through!  Get a full women's panel done all at once--this will check your Vit D, hormones, thyroid and thyroid antibodies.  Hugs!

    Tracie :Thanks!

Just thought I would share with you that I have been using a program online called Lose it. You can log all you eat daily. I think that is why I am losing weight, because now i have an idea how many calories i am consuming daily. Today I weigh myself again and i am at 149.7. I am excited! Smile

Thought I would share this to help us TN's be healthier since diet plays a huge role in prevention.  The writer/journalist collected these rules handed down through generations from all over the world and then wrote a book on it:

Michael Pollan Food Rules List 1. Eat food2. Don't eat anything your great-grandmother wouldn't recognize as food3. Avoid food products containing ingredients that no ordinary human would keep in the pantry4. Avoid food products that contain high-fructose corn syrup5. Avoid food products that have some form of sugar (or sweetener listed among) the top three ingredients6. Avoid food products that have more than 5 ingredients7. Avoid food products containing ingredients that a third-grader cannot pronounce8. Avoid food products that make health claims9. Avoid food products with the wordoid "lite" or the terms "low fat" or "nonfat" in their names10. Avoid foods that are pretending to be something they are not11. Avoid foods you see advertised on television12. Shop the peripheries of the supermarket and stay out of the middle13. Eat only foods that will eventually rot14. Eat foods made from ingredients that you can picture in their raw state or growing in nature15. Get out of the supermarket whenever you can16. Buy your snacks at the farmers market17. Eat only foods that have been cooked by humans18. Don't ingest foods made in places where everyone is required to wear a surgical cap19. If it came from a plant, eat it; if it was made in a plant, don't.20. It's not food if it arrived through the window of your car21. It's not food if it's called by the same name in every language (Think Big Mac, Cheetos or Pringles)22. Eat mostly plants, especially leaves23. Treat meat as a flavoring or special occasion food24. Eating what stands on one leg [mushrooms and plant foods] is better than eating what stands on two legs [fowl], which is better than eating what stands on four legs [cows, pigs and other mammals].25. Eat your colors26. Drink the spinach water27. Eat animals that have themselves eaten well28. If you have space, buy a freezer29. Eat like an omnivore30. Eat well-grown food from healthy soil31. Eat wild foods when you can32. Don't overlook the oily little fishes33. Eat some foods that have been predigested by bacterial or fungi34. Sweeten and salt your food yourself35. Eat sweet foods as you find them in nature36. Don't eat breakfast cereals that change the color of the milk37. The whiter the bread, the sooner you'll be dead38. Favor the kinds of oils and grains that have traditionally been stone-ground39. Eat all the junk food you want as long as you cook it yourself40. Be the kind of person who takes supplements - then skip the supplements41. Eat more like the French. Or the Japanese. Or the Italians. Or the Greeks.42. Regard nontraditional foods with skepticism43. Have a glass of wine with dinner44. Pay more, eat less45. Eat less46. Stop eating before you're full47. Eat when you are hungry, not when you are bored48. Consult your gut49. Eat slowly50. The banquet is in the first bite51. Spend as much time enjoying the meal as it took to prepare it52. Buy smaller plates and glasses53. Serve a proper portion and don't go back for seconds54. Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, dinner like pauper55. Eat meals56. Limit your snacks to unprocessed plant foods57. Don't get your fuel from the same place your car does58. Do all your eating at a table59. Try not to eat alone60. Treat treats as treats61. Leave something on your plate62. Plant a vegetable garden if you have space, a window box if you don't63. Cook64. Break the rules once in a while

I found a fast way to lose 10 pounds fast! Put your scale on the carpet! When I did that, I was exactly 10 pounds lighter every time.

Man, I'm going to make a fortune marketing this..... Money mouth
