    Checking in:

    Friday check-in = 3 points

    Weight - down 2.4 (now 176.2 - my goal is 175) = 2 points

    New E-Lab low - 1 point

    Water = 7 points

    Exercise = 13 points

    Total 26 points.

    I wasn't sure I'd get the 2 points for weight loss - donuts at work and I had to taste and lost a point for healthy choices. At least I only tasted and never ate a whole one (or two!). Also had Graduation this week for friends - but only had half a piece of cake instead of the whole piece.

    Making healthy food choices and kicked up the exercise with a couple of 30 minute walks before supper - we walk almost 1.5 miles in a little over 30 minutes while supper finishes. It was enough to make a difference!

    I'm thinking I should set another goal after I reach the 175 (and finally get my new PJ set!). I need to research what my weight really should be - reasonably - and allow some room to make a cushion for gaining slightly.

    Eat less - move more! And drink that water! I was never convinced it really helped, but now I can see that it does!

    2Hands4Me - I know you are absolutely correct and I still don't seem to be able to do the water.  I know it would make a difference.  I must try harder and will get up right now and get a big glass.  Thanks.

    Friday???

    It's still Fri in northern Indiana. Today was the last day of 'school' for me this year and we took off at 3:00 and are headed to our summer hiatus.

    Still no scale anywhere in my life.

    Back to that tomorrow, after we arrive!

    Fri check in = 3 points

    Water = 7 points

    Exercise = 7 points

    Extra credit = took the stairs numerous times in the hotel, 1 point

    18 points

    unknown weight so I'll take 0 points there

    ****I'm glad that you birdies apprecitated the candle picture -- that moment was surreal, on so many levels. Seeing the picture, once I finally got it uploaded brought the very same sense of peace and tranquility right back to me, just seeing the image.

    Great to see everyone checking in.

    Ainm? How are you doing dearie? I'm glad to at least see your total. How's the healing process?

    patoo - I have a water bottle that holds 4 cups. I fill it in the morning and try to have it gone by 3pm. Then I re-fill -- sometimes with water, sometimes with plain mint tea, or other calorie/sweetener free liquid. The second bottle needs to be gone by bedtime - even if I drink the last cup or so just before bed. For me, it's easy to keep track of 2 bottle fulls instead of 8 glasses. I've found that it is now easier to drink, my bladder has adapted, and my lab work has improved! I've read that cold water helps increase our metabolism, and so does lemon in the water since we need to buffer the acidity. It's only one piece to the weight loss puzzle, but an important one to have all of our cells well hydrated for the best functioning. I've also read that you need to add a cup of water above the 8 glasses for every cup of coffee since coffee is a diuretic that makes you loose fluid! We all have to find what works for US! Any increase helps even if it's only 4 days this week!!!! Then 5 next week....

    Roadrunner checking in late: Do I get 1pt for checking in at all? Partner in hospital from Thursday until 1PM today, so I haven't done so well.

    Exercise 4pts

    Water 5pts - didn't stay hydrated while hanging out at hospital - finally found the water last night

    weight -- 0pts - still haven't made it by to check weight.  I contemplated buying a scale to have at home, but it helps me get to the gym if that is where the scale is, plus I really don't have the $$ right now.

    9 or 10 pts, you decide

    Now that we are settled back at home I can concentrate on my PT and get well enough to get back in the gym on a regular basis.  I hope to lose enough by August that when we visit my dad he is iimpressed enough to give us another year's gym membership - I sure do enjoy it when I'm not injured!

    Well.

    We are now in our hiatus-home for a wonderful chunk of 3 weeks.

    We have a scale here.

    Oh, dear.

    I feel like it's probably accurate.

    I'm clockin' myself in for last week at 139.6.

    The only reason that I'm confessing is that I intend for that number to come down and down and down in the coming three weeks. So telling the truth now will earn my hummers more points and keep me honest in the process.

    The good news is that is the weight I put on my drivers license (139) so tho I've gone up a couple of steps -- it's way down from the beginning of my keeping track & attempting to make better choices.

    [This is why they call it a yo-yo, isn't it?]

    The truth of the matter is that without continual diligence I would keep creeping back up -- higher & highter & higher.

    Enough.

    Back to the wagon.

    I have already been to two, hour and 15 minute yoga classes, since our arrival. So my exercise points will have some more beef in that column!!

    Oh my it's been a while since I checked in.  Went to the doc today and got some refills on meds and bloodwork checked.  My weight is not so good... I have to do something drastic. LOL!! I am working such late hrs and eating at such late times the weight just won't come off.  The doctor refuses to give any diet pills. Yell  Guess I am going to do the drastic and go back to a weight doc and get some from him.  What else to do when these crazy meds make me stay hungry all the time.  Really... Tamoxifen and Arimidex are evil to your body besides fighting off breast cancer they make you starve all the time.  At least they have effected me that way.  I never use to have that problem but now it's all the time.  I don't stay as hungry on the Arimidex as I was on the Tamoxifen but if I continue to eat and gain weight I will weigh over 200 lbs by the time I come off of the Arimidex in less than 4 yrs.  Uggghhhh!!!Cry

    Love to my sisters!

    Renee ~ If I remember correctly, my comment to you way. back. when. prompted the beginning (thanx Meecie) of this thread, sooooo. I'll go there again: Let's work on this together. I so need to get back on the wagon - heck, I can't even see the wagon anymore, I am so far behind.

    In the dust of all the sistas that are doing so well.

    Behind: that's where "IT" is going !! Embarassed

    Right to my butt. Plain & Simple. That's where it is. My jeans are tighter. Someone else only knows if I will fit into the capris I bought last year. I'm wearing a couple of pairs from 2-1/2 years ago that were a bit on the big side.

    I need to get to bed, it's 2 am. I know, I need more sleep; that is one good thing I can do.

    Here's to a new beginning.

    I am dreading weigh-in tomorrow morning. ARG!!

    Need more of this:

    Valjean--don't look at it as being behind, trying to catch up all the time is exhausting and usually futile.  Jump in where you are (FlyLady followers will recognize that phrase)!  FlyLady is talking about housework when she says that, but it works for weight loss, too, I've found.  Instead of trying to catch up, forgive yourself and start again.

    Roadrunner checking in:

    Friday check in = 3 pts
