I participated in "Knit-a-boo" in Brooklyn yesterday, where we knit prosthesis out of baby wool and stuffed them with cotton filling. They will be donated to Breastcancer.org. Here is a picture... I will send another later today...

    I would love the pattern for those.....please......I have never seen nor heard of them here in Australia.  Is that possible?

    Ok, so this is the closest pattern I could find (without having to re-type the whole thing). We used cashmere yarn for softness. Some prefer natural colours and some prefer bright colours. Smooth yarns work best.Needles & AccessoriesA set of 4mm (UK 8/US 6) double-pointed needles or two sets of 4mm (UK 8/US 6) circular needles, 40cm (16in) longTapestry needleStuffingPattern notesKaren says she varies the size and shape of the boobs she knits, but this is the basic template, with some ideas for variations given.She uses KFB (knit into front and back of same stitch) to increase.NippleWith yarn A, cast on 3 sts, leaving a 20cm tail.*Knit 3 sts and slip them purlwise back to left-hand needle; repeat from * until you have a length of knitted i-cord approx. 7.5cm long. Working a longer i-cord makes a larger nipple.AreolaNext round: Pulling yarn firmly across the back of the work, knit, increasing 1 or 2 stitches, then slip sts back to left needle.Repeat last round until you have 8 stitches.Divide the stitches over 4 double-pointed needles (2 sts per needle). The i-cord you have been working is knitted in the round – continue to work in the round, placing a marker for the start of the round.Next round: *K1, KFB; rep from * to end of round. 12 sts.Next round: *K2, KFB; rep from * to end of round. 16 sts.Next round: *K3, KFB; rep from * to end of round. 20 sts.Work 2 more increase rounds as set. 28 sts.Next round: *K13, KFB; rep from * once more. 30 sts.If you wish to make a larger areola, simply work further increases.Break yarn.BreastJoin in yarn B. You can break all laws of knitting and knot the two yarn ends together, as these will be on the inside and no one will ever know.Knit one round plain.Next round (adjust this round if you have made a larger areola): *K6, KFB, K7, KFB; rep from * once more. 34 sts.For a rounded shape, increase 4 to 6 sts evenly in every row until you have around 60 sts. If you increase to more stitches, it makes a larger boob. For a more pointy boob, you can increase in every other row.Next round: Knit.Repeat last round until the boob is about the size you want it.Next round (if you have more than 60 sts adjust accordingly): *K13, K2tog; rep from * 3 more times. 56 sts.Next round: *K12, K2tog; rep from * 3 more times. 52 sts.BasePurl two rounds.The following section will need to be adjusted accordingly if you have made modifications to the basic pattern.Round 1 (adjust accordingly if needed): *K11, K2tog; rep from * 3 more times. 48 sts.Round 2: Knit.Round 3: *K10, K2tog; rep from * 3 more times. 44 sts.Round 4: Knit.Continue to decrease as set until you have 8 stitches remaining.Break yarn and thread on to tapestry needle. Thread yarn through the stitches, stuff the boob, and pull tight. Sew in the end.Make nippleTwist the icord around into a nipple shape and sew down using the tail of the yarn.

    If you are a member of the on-line knitting/crocheting fiber group RAVELRY, there is a pattern for knitted boobies on it.  The pattern is called "Tit Bits" and its a free pattern from Knitty.com
