TN Ten Pounds Take-Off

I just noticed Claire's weight... niceeee!!! Woohoo!! Any pointers you can give a slacker? Lol!
Mary: Thanks! I'm holding strong, but not really being all that proactive to lose the last 8 lbs I wanna lose. Even with bathing suit season around the corner... I like to blame it on being a Leo. I like to just lay in the sun and be lazy. Haha!
-
Well, I'm able to stay upright but ...
F*cking doctor.... never returned my calls from yesterday and today I walked out of his office after yet *another* unacceptably long time spent in the waiting room for my follow-up visit. I'm done with this *sshole.

Fighter-34 is down one more pound, but she is very tired of eating only fruits and veggies!
I NEED MEAT!
-
Fighter..eat some meat..you need protein as well!
-
fighter34 I want carbs and not a small amount...... I want cake and lots of it.
-
Thanks MBJ. I will weigh in on Monday. Hoping to be down some by then but this easter candy my son got is gonna kill me:)
-
Tracie23 me too! LOL
I am so hungry and angry lately and I am angry because I am HUNGRY!!!!!!!!
-
Heidi: I am so sorry your dr. is so unresponsive! Really hope you get this resolved and quickly. Hugs.
Fighter: Starving yourself won't loose weight, it may in fact hold on to the weight. I agree with Titan: eat your protein.
Jen: Sweets are my downfall-oh, and carbs, lol! I am so glad I don't have much for temptation in my home but when I go out--put me on a leash!

Hello I am pretty new to this site and came across this thread and would really like to join in on the group. I am a big girl and my dx wants me to lose at least 80lbs .I was losing weight a few months ago but started my TE and got my implant exchange 4 weeks ago I go to the doc today and if she says all is ok i want to workout again and I think if I had a group of ladies to join in this weight loss goal I may actually do it .So today I weigh in at 240lbs (eek) I know bad bad but im not letting the big starting number defer me from the smaller number of 160lbs!!
-
bckicker: Welcome to the group and the starting number doesn't matter-we are all here to do the same thing-lose the extra pounds!!! I found that it has taken me awhile-maybe because I was still in the middle of all of these procedures and surgeries but now I am so close to being done and I just want my body back from, say, ten years ago!
-
bckicker: Welcome and you can do it.
Prior to BC my weight was getting up there also so. It feels good to have some control over it now.
-
bckicker: Since you have a larger challenge ahead of you with the amount that you want to lose, can you get the help of a dr. through your insurance plan? My friend's mom had to lose about 90 pounds after her MX and she did it through a medical program and looks amazing now-I have known her for over 25 years and this is the first time I have seen her thin!

Hi All - haven't posted here much because frankly I am failing completely at not only losing weight, but even at trying to eat healthy.....went to an Easter brunch that had a table full of these amazing little mini cupcakes - guess who had one in every flavor by the time the coffee was done? not to mention the York peppermint patties that the Easter Bunny brought to my kids, and the Dove eggs, and the Reeses pb cups...the list goes on. Surprise, surprise, I am up 2 pounds (at least). I'm sure the doctor's scale at my next appointment will have me up 5!
Trying to refocus and spend more time outdoors. I haven't been going in to the office for work b/c my husband is traveling this week and I can't fit in a long enough day at the office to make it worth the commute. So, I'm here at home with all the temptations. But, at least I can count on losing a bit as a result of the surgery (although I am pretty flat chested so maybe it won't make much of a difference!)

MBJ my insurance plan doesnt have anything like that to help me with. I wish it did I know the basics of burn more calories than u eat but the last few years have really put me down I am slowly getting my umph back and the doctor said may resume working out today minus pec exercises so im starting back at the gym tomorrow im so glad this thread is here nice to see what others are eating/exercise ideas to help get that boost i need to keep going.
-
I am failing too - sitting here eating a bag of chips as I type. I am not 142# any more, down from initial 146, but have been sitting for a couple of weeks at 145. Getting motivated is hard.
-
The only thing motivating me is that the sun has been out for the last couple days.
bckicker: Sorry you don't have that additional support. I would hope we would all be able to at least get help from a dietician considering our TN status and myself, I don't have any insurance so I am completely able to understand. We are all here to encourage and help each other! We all have different things we use, some of us are on weight watchers, some of us are doing the low glycemic diet, some are doing a process of elimination and it isn't easy but it's a great place to share and support.
dlcw: I have been that person--one of every sweet on the platter and then a couple more! I am determined to get to my pre-marriage weight. That's 10 pounds. At least I am no longer trying to lose 30 and chemo helped me with those pounds. I like to think that every day is a new day so we have an opportunity to try again. Hugs!
gillyone: Some days are easier then others

Hey everyone! It is HARD to diet...soo..don't do it...Your losing weight has to be a life changing experience..don't expect it to happen all at once...I cut out Coke, M*M's and potato chips..ok..well maybe some potato chips..I like them too much to cut them out forever...I'm trying to take this slowly..and try to change my eating habits..you have to reward yourself now and then with the pasta or the cake or whatever you really want.
I had a macadamia nut cookie today..it was awesome...and worth it..so I just went out and ran the extra mile to work it off..that felt good too...
The scales seem to be stuck at 145...dang it...I didn't think that I would reach a plateau this soon....
-
Had a great weekend, but it went by too fast. Down to 132.4 this morning. For all of you who still have junk in your house the only way to be successful is to throw it out and don't buy any more. If I have chips or cookies in the house I will eat them. I have no willpower when I am home alone. So do yourselves a favor and take away the temptation.
-
144 this am Heidi!
-
Hi girls. still at 201, at least I did not gain any
-
Morning ladies! 148.2
Apparently my body likes this weight. How come my jeans like 140 then... Hmmmmmm? Haha. Okay, I DID have ice cream this weekend.
-
On average I am holding at 130. Still hoping to drop down a few more, but tired of beating myself up about it.
This time last year I was in the hospital, so I'm not going to complain; just happy to be home.
-
154.5
-
Ugh: I was bad, bad, bad this weekend. I don't keep junk in the house but we have been quite social lately and it all revolves around eating and I have no will power. Just hoping I haven't gone up. I will weigh myself later since I just ate.
-
I have to keep some junk food in the house. I have kids....
-
Heidi - 130 sounds really good. Well done!
-
Good afternoon girls,
Today at the Doc's office 149.7
I have a cold.... Can't believe I got sick! ugh! Well, on the bright side I might end up losing more lbs since I can't taste the food.
-
I weighed in today at 238 down 2 lbs:)
-
YEAH !!!!! bckicker ... you are doing great!!! sending you hugs
-
MBJ..you crack me up! and congrats to all you "losers"...
Cleveland Clinic just sent me an article about knees...if you guys walk/jog for excercise every lb. over weight adds 5 lbs. of stress to your knees..so if you are 30 lbs. over you add 150# of weight/stress to your knees..something to think about...
The dang thing is..you need to exercise to lose weight but the added stress to your knees isn't good either...what to do? Also walnuts, green veggies are good for the cartilage for your knees also.
My right knee hurts alot..my onc told me to USE IT..the weird thing is is that it doesn't hurt when I jog or walk..hurts when I' m just sitting around
