Hi,
I'm still up for it, although I'm having chemo that day, I think I can make it. Are we still on? Is the Mom coming?
Good Luck with everything Dee.
Will miss meeting you Betsy, but totally understand how hard it is to juggle work during this.

KirisMom is not coming since her daughter is having her surgery. ScienceGirl are you sure you'll be okay?
-
Letlet, No not sure I'll be OK. Is it just you and me? If so then could we reschedule? Did you hear from CityKitty?
-
ScienceGirl, yeah I always stayed home the day of chemo and afterwards...maybe we should reschedule..
-
Hi all -- Thanks, Letlet, for the PM. Science Girl, you shouldn't push yourself. Sounds like maybe we should reschedule to a day when more of us can make it? Maybe late March -- Dee, does that give you enough time to recuperate? What do y'all think?
Betsy, congrats on the promotion!
Looking forward to meeting everyone soon! -
late march sounds good, i'll be having my exchange on monday and starting rads possibly the first week of april...
-
Late March I'll be done with Chemo, yeah! Last one is march 16. So end of the month is good.
CityKitty - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a great day today!!!
-
Hopefully by late March I should be good to go, even if I can't drive quite yet my daughter lives nearby and can drive me.
sending good vibes to you all getting through treatments
-
Late March is not good for me... In ST JOHN, USVI til March 26 and then chemo week march 28, plus my daughter will be in town March 28 week from college... but I am iffy no matter what day it is... so plan without me and if it works for me, then it works.
Good luck with everything this month.. and would love to know more about the DIEP when you are done Dee
-
BDavis, Enjoy paradise and please have a Painkiller drink for me. I will be glad to share DIEP info with you.
-
I am meeting with Dr Wey in Princeton tomorrow... he does free tram, but I am willing to listen and MAYBE he will suggest his opinion of best DIEP doctors in area. Good luck, and I will for sure have a drink for you.
-
So.. Dr Wey suggested Lat flap aand implant... and recommended a DIEP dr in baltimore... but also said I didn;t have enough fat... one more quandry
-
Hm, if bdavis is tied up late March, would early April be better? Letlet, would that still work for you on rads? And, how did your exchange go?
Bdavis, have a great trip! And good luck with your decision. I too was told I didn't have enough fat for a tissue transfer, and that's how I ended up doing TE and implant. In the end I'm happy not to have the extra incision on my body, but then I do end up with this foreign body in me...there sure are pros and cons with every alternative!
ScienceGirl, thanks, my bday is actually tomorrow. ; ) Sorry if I misspoke somewhere along the line. I'm taking the day off work for my big five-oh. DH is taking me to a matinee of Billy Elliott, and then dinner at Babbo -- very excited! Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow...chemo fatigue is catching up with me and today wasn't a good day! It's frustrating how unpredictable these SEs can be!
-
I'm in for early April. Enjoy your birthday tomorrow Carla, how exciting - a broadway show and dinner! My exchange actually got postponed to this Monday because of some issues. I was upset about it at first but I think I am in a better mental state for the surgery. I was terribly anxious about it. The only thing is that the delay is pushing my start for rads. I just try to tell myself that things happen for a reason...
-
Science Girl, one more chemo to go!! I'm rooting for you!
bdavis, did I read you're looking at a DIEP in NOLA? I'll be interested to hear how it goes.
Letlet, how did your exchange surgery go?
I'm plugging along. Tomorrow is weekly chemo #8 of 10. I'll be done by the end of the month, then go to Herceptin every 3 weeks for the rest of the year. I'm targeting exchange surgery for April 22 if all goes well.
So if we try to meet in early April - any druthers on days of the week? Is Wed or Thu, April 6 or 7, OK?
-
Yes, I am looking into it... or hips flaps... I have an appt in April and then will probably go to NOLA for a consult with local BS to discuss prophylactic MX
-
Hi, all...I've been thinking of you and hope everyone is doing well. Do we still want to get together sometime??
-
Interested, just don't know if it will work for me... too much work, too many appts and perhaps too far away
-
Hm, I know what you mean...but I'm still holding out hope....
-
where do you live?
-
Finishing rads ladies, count me in ! Citykitty are you done with taxol?
-
Bdavis, I live in Hoboken, work in Clifton....we had talked before about meeting in Montclair but I know that was going to be a long trip for you. Would it make sense to try to arrange a place that's easier for everyone to get to? I don't know NJ well enough to make any suggestions. Should we try for a weekend instead of a weekday? I did meet once with the NYC group and we met on a weekend afternoon.
Letlet, I've been wondering how you're doing! Yay for finishing rads!! How did your TE exchange go? I just had mine a few days ago, one month after finishing Taxol; I have my post-op tomorrow. I had unilateral mx and the surgery is taking me some time to adjust to. (Read: I'm not 100% thrilled, but I know my result is really good, so I hope I learn to like it or at least live with it. And I know it will take a few months until things settle into place.)
-
Well... at the moment, anytime is difficult for me... Weekdays are hard with work and then traffic, and weekends which might be better are filled with some other obligations this month... For one, I am headed to New Orleans for a PS consult... As much as I am interetsed, I am not sure it logistically makes sense... I think there are at least a couple of you who live closer... So.. make a plan and if it can work for me great, but please don't plan around me.
-
-
Betsy, good luck with the NOLA consult. Let us know how it goes.
Anyone else want to try again to meet up?
-
now that I am finally healed up and the weather is finally nice
so YES for trying to meet -
-
Hi All,
I have been MIA on the boards lately. I'm 9 weeks out from chemo, only 2 more rads to go. I'm feeling great, no fatigue at all from the rads and skin is only a little red. I've been spending a lot of time in the garden and feel quite 'normal' except for the hair which actually seems to be growing. I hope you all are feeling well too, I'd love to meet.
Kim
-
Kim, so glad you are feeling good.
For a place to begin planning....how about setting a date Tuesday, May 31st 7:00pm

I'd love to meet you guys, but I'm out of town May 31-June 5 -- my first trip for work since my dx! I used to travel about once a month and I enjoy it, so I'm looking forward to the trip. But I will be sad to miss meeting you!
-
BMX May 13th....I live in Tenafly and would love to meet some of you anytime!!
