Bonfire of the Goddesses

May I join you?? I have the ugliest old lady bras and the biggest prosthesis I have ever seen! When I was measured for these I said to the woman I cannot be the only big breasted woman with cancer!! Why do they have such ugly bras??? I only wore the prosthesis three times, along with those bras with five hooks. The damn prosthesis is as big as my head and taking up room in my closet. Be Gone! Burn, Burn, Burn.
I did this very ritual with a boyfriend (his stuff, not the man) and it totally cleansed me.
Even a fire can be healing...
-
I would like to thrown in my sports bras but they are the only ones I can wear at the moment so instead I will throw in my insensitve boss....seriously.....why do I work for this man? Post mammo....think I am out of there
-
I'm throwing insomnia into the fire....
damn you insomnia, the only way i get a decent nights sleep is when i get drunk.
so thank you BC for turning me into an alcoholic!!!
-
angelbaby....ok....went to Zellers and tried on 12 bras...and found one that fit both boobs instead of leaving a while bunch of space in one and no wire!!!! Hopefully it wil not bother me...not the same as a gorgeous underwaire lacy event but this will do for now...then came home and washed my other bras in bleach!....so I have a clean smelling home a new bra and new perspective...
-
Can I add my bras with no underwire that I bought for rads x 2 - just started wearing normal underwire bras a week ago - feels good!!!
-
Suepen --- just pile those bras on the sports bras that are already on the fire!
I've thrown in a couple of bras too! I'm having shoulder surgery this week...finally and sadly. I couldn't wear a bra for months because it dug into my shoulder. None of my many bras were comfortable. It appears that when you're small breasted, there isn't too much emphasis on shoulder straps like there is when you are bigger. It wasn't so bad during the winter, not wearing a bra, but with Spring and Summer fast approaching....I needed to find a bra with comfortable straps.
I ended up at Nordstrom's rack and found a cotton Natori sports bra...that doesn't look or feel like a sports bra. At Nordstrom's it's rather pricy at $48. But at Nordstrom's rack I paid $24. It's the only bra I can wear now. After the surgery, I just might splurge on another one. When I went for my pre op testing, I was wearing it and the gals examining me noticed it and asked me about it.
I'm looking forward to one day wearing my "old" bras. Haven't a clue when that will be.

Hey- here are some Peeps that we can roast on the bonfire...it being Easter and all:)
I need to toss in the conference in Atlanta that I am supposed to be ready to present at on Wednesday....I have done zilch to get ready--so in it goes...I wonder if that will work?
-
Speaking of Peeps...Head over to the Washington Post and search for the Peeps Diaramas! They've had this contest for the best Peeps show for 5 years and it's sure to bring a smile to your face!
-
ok annette- i am tossing in the conference I am expected to go to on Friday too. Decided NOT to present this year as I had no intention of going...I was suppsed to be arriving home and jetlagged suring the darn thing...ah well..instead I will go, pretend I am enjoying it and make an appearance only.
Ok..tossing in my angina.....not sleeping well because of pain in my chest....apparently angina is common after a hearty attack...sure does take the focus off my tingly cancer arm where they remomved nodes last August
-
geez Sandee...I wish it was something else taking your mind off the tingly arm:( Here- I will share my chocolate bunny:)
-
thanks fr the chocolate bunny pieces!!! perfect

Thinking of the bonfire. Did anyone know that marshmallows have been around for over two thousand years????? Wonder what the gals back then were throwing in the fire?!
-
voraciousreader - That is an interesting piece of information - I did not know that about marshmallows.
-
From Egyptian times. Boy oh boy those women must have had grievances!
-
Probably too numerous to write about.

LOVE this thread

Hey can I got to the hospital, kidnap the little twerp that shoved that "wire" in my boob, and then said "you moved".............I still have it in for that little freak................he was about 4 ft 8 in, and looked like a troll.....................I'll need help tossing him though cause I want to make sure he gets in good, and gets his 'hurt", and much as that friggin wire hurt............I still have nightmares about him.........................
-
Reminds me of my rad onc--he had such a round earnest face and he completely ignored what I told him. I guess he felt my hostility because he finally got to the point where he would come in the room, nervously say " Mrs. H, is there anything I can do for you?" NO. Then he would scoot out the door. Saw him in the elevator at the hospital--me with my very own hair again, and I couldn't resist saying "Hey Dr. Moody, I'm nice now!" LOLOLOLOL.
-
Ducky - I'll help you throw him in. Maybe we can put a few weights on his ankles so he can't walk out.
-
Sorry guys, had a senior moment..................I want to toss in the little "Troll" from radiology at my hospital who shoved the "wire" into my boob for my surgeon, and then said "you moved"...Can I get help ladies.....................I want to make sure I get him in far enogh, so his "manhood" gets fried lile a burnt weiner that was cooked on the grill...................this guy has to feel the pain..................Ok, one, two, three, heave ho.....................................
-
Ducky... Grannydukes will be there if you need her. I'd help.. But that shoulder of mine won't be fixed til Wednesday. I'll take pictures!
Tslos... What's on your mind that needs purging??? I promise you'll feel better once it gets on the fire. -
Ducky - I'll still help you throw him in. That should not have happened to you nor should it every happen to anyone else. In he goes - he is going to be a slow burner.
-
OOOOO Marshmellows, yum!!!!!!!!!!!! Kiddos are to old and to cool for easter baskets so no peeps or marshmellows bunnies. I need them.
-
Thanks girls, I'll tell him he's invited to a appreciation party from all the girls he stuck wires into................where shall we meet.........hahahhahahha love it
Where your glasses for the fire and the slow burn...............
-
Since I don't want any of you gals to get hurt when we throw in Ducky's stupid person, I will tie ropes around everyone and pull you away from the fire if you get too close.
-
We won't have to get too close...............He is the size of a troll........I actually thought he was a janitor, till I said ...............who is that guy................no one answered, then he walked into the room.........I near shit, I thought Holy shit, I'm going to be treated by the friggin janitor.................and he actually looked like he enjoyed what he was doing..........
-
Ducky - That is a pretty scary thought. Someone who looks like the janitor. I would have run for the hills. Hey! Maybe we can use a broom out of the janitor closet, shove it up his butt and push him in the fire. Just an idea.........
-
So, DUcky and Jo, how do you REALLY feel?
I am so sorry you went through that Ducky...I willhelp toss the little pip in.
-
I am a little pip so can't do much in the way of tossing him in...however, I can give a solid push!
-
Ahhh...I read a review of a new book, "Annoying: The Science of What Bugs Us." Sounds like an interesting book for VR to read. However, I just might find the book too annoying to read. Anyway, in the review, one of the topics mentioned is that people don't like hearing cellphone conversations of other people. Hmmm...didn't that gal on her speakerphone at the hospital, that I mentioned earlier, go into the fire...along with all the other folks and THEIR CELLPHONES, who rudely do the same thing, go in as well? Well, according to the book, there's a word to describe what bugs us about that behavior... it's called a "halfalogue."
So from today on, all of those folks who "halfalogue" will toast.
