TN Ten Pounds Take-Off

We need fun too.

MJB..dieting is good but you have to reward yourselve sometimes too..I ate a peanut butter egg today and it was great!,,,Don't feel guilty about it at all..
A friend of mine says this when about to consume maybe something she shouldn't 1)...Is this REALLY worth the calories/fat? and 2)...IF I eat this will I exercise enough to work it off...I kinda like this...not sure how far I will have to run to work off that PB egg but it was worth it.
-
Well, I walked several miles today and hardly ate a bite all day, though we have a chicken in the overn for dinner. I'm thinking I have to get serious about working out now that I am almost bandage free after my last surgery.
-
MBJ: You deserve a little party sometimes!! I usually let myself eat whatever I feel like one day a week. That makes me happy.
Tita: That isssss strange! Never heard of that! Haha... maybe the cold weather? Well, at least by me it is. Are you eating less salt? As for ditching the muffin top and belly... onlyyyy thing that ever works for me is no or very limited carbs (definitely no white flour/sugar). I don't drink alcohol ever either, so I think that helps me personally.
P.S. Still 148, Heidi!
-
Heidi: Ok, weigh me in at 157. At least I am going back down. Maybe the no eating and a walk helped. Now, I am going to do an hour workout. Trying to make this a daily habit. Happy week everyone.
-
Back up to 133 today. Every time I cheat the scale tells on me. Walked yesterday but the tree pollen is really doing a number on me.
-
141.2 for me. I didn't weigh in last week. I ate too much junk this weekend, so I am going to try to stay motivated this week. MBJ, what kind of workout do you do?
-
Good morning, 151.9 today!
-
You know... there's something mystical going on in my bathroom. Eat nothing... the scale goes up... eat something... the scale goes down.
It's the damnedest thing. Could it be me? Am I going crazy? There appears to be very little correlation in my eating habits and weight. Maybe it's due to water weight/loss?
Of course, there's no consistency in my activity level either. Some days I'm Hell bent to leather and other days I am a couch potato.
I wake up in the morning so achy I feel like I won't be able to do *anything*. Then I haul my *ss out to the barn and shovel sh*t. Come back inside feeling better.
Go figure.
-
Lynn: Many years ago someone gave me a workout tape from the 70's called Callenetics. I think the tag line was "Change your body in 21 days without surgery" or something close to that. It's the only workout I can do because of various back and neck injuries. Can't do yoga because half of the poses are impossible for me to do. These were designed by someone who also had back problems and I love it. I can be in horrible shape but if I do the workout daily in 30 days I do indeed have a different, better body. It's kind of a combination of Isometrics, Ballet & Pilates. Don't be put off by it though. It's all doable with a yoga mat and a sturdy char (instead of a ballet bar). They are deep muscle sculpting excercises that use very precise, small movements.
-
Hey Girls...I am 156 today I hope everyone has a great week
-
MBJ- I tried Yoga too... and gave up for the same reason... could not do half the poses because my neck wouldn't turn. I'm five days into the Botox treatment and have gotten a bit of ROM back.... would be a miracle if it worked for my neck as well as the nerve block does for my migraines.
-
Put me down at 145 YEE HAW!
Heidi..seriously, you have to eat to lose weight..please don't starve yourself...and um...at your weight..I think you are probably a stick anyway...and remember if you are working out and toning up those muscles..that is a good thing..muscles weigh more than fat...just wish my muffin tops and belly would turn into muscle instead of just hanging there...disgusting
-
Heidi: I have heard they use Botox for things like the back but I would need so many injections as my whole back is a piece of work. I hope that it works for you. Me, I just do the ocassional chiropractic adjustment, stretches and now, I can finally do my floor excercises. You might enjoy these! She also has lots of tips if you can't do some of them.
-
Yes, it's true that you have to eat to lose weight, so your body has the energy to burn fat. I usually have a banana or fruit for b-fast, a decent lunch, and a snack for dinner (salad, fruit, etc.) unless hubby makes a meal (if we have lunch out he usually does not make a big dinner). I nibble on one or two squares of chocolate if I get a craving.
So, though I am definitely not into a real diet routine I still find it interesting how my weight seems to fluctuate regardless of my eating choices. I must admit, at this point I am beginning not to care as long as I stay in the 130 range. Why knock myself out for 5 more pounds? It's the difference between a size 4 and size 6. Who cares? (apparently me, since I have some *really* nice clothes in the 4 size)
-
-
Hey Heidi..agree with you on the weight fluctuations..weird..I weighed myself this am..drank some coffee and gained a lb.???
I also ran 2 miles today...took me 22 minutes..which is weird...normally I take 26 minutes..it is finally warm here so could that affect running? I'm new at this running business so I don't know. I had the wind in my face the last mile and I felt like I was running in place.
-
Well, it stands to reason that your times would improve with practice and conditioning. But the wind resistance should have increased your time, not decreased it. Tis a mystery!
-
Good morning ladies. Hoping you had a great weekend. This morning 150.6.
Slowly but surely!
Have a great day.
-
Titan: you are going to make me spit out my juice! LMAO Running in place, huh??
-
Oh my, I had a really decadent weakend! I had all the things I am not supposed to have: bread, sugar, chocolate, ice cream, wine--it was so yummy but now I am afraid again to get on the scale! I have absolutely no willpower. I did, however, workout every day except for yesterday, so slowly but surely, inch by inch...
-
I finally got the courage to weigh in after my workout=158
-
Hi everbody. Its been a long time since I checked in. 171 this am. Hoping the weather improves soon so I can get outside to walk and work in my yard. That should burn up some calories.

-
153 this week yay!
-
Having a reaction to the Botox for my neck I think. Incredible, debilitating, nauseating vertigo. Awful... and scary. Waiting for doctor to call.
-
Aw, Heidi... that sucks!! I've never heard of that
On a positive note... still hanging on at 148 on the nose. Yipee! Going for a walk after work too
-
Heidi: I hope your dr. gives you some relief!
-
Time to drop the pounds.. Count me in. 5'5" and 201. I was 165 prior to diagnosis and would like to get down to 160. So do you have weekly weighins or daily. Just checking so I can keep up. You ladies seem like you are doing great and I need to do the same.
-
JenC: Welcome aboard. Heidi can post your weight and we usually do a weekly weigh in on Mondays. We are all kind of doing our own weight plans but it's nice to get encouragement from others doing the same thing!
Claire: You are doing awesome!
-
Erica: Yay for you!!!
