I'll still have to be monitored every 6 months but in the mean time I intend to enjoy myself.

It's finally started to get cool at night - we've had to use a blanket the past 2 nights - about time!!!

You girls have been quiet.  I have made an executive decision that I am sick of feeling just "off" since my anxiety attack ~ I am blaming tamoxifen so I am taking a break.  I spoke with the nurse in my oncologists office they aren't thrilled but will give me the break.  I have surgery for nips on 4.29 anyway and would need to be off so I will see ONCO May 10th and we will discuss my options.  2 days off of tamoxifen and other than some major depression that has been with me for days I am feeling ok.

Hope all is well with everyone and you are enjoying a nice Spring like day where you are.

    :)

Sorry you haven't been feeling too good Alicia. If it is the tamoxifen, your onc should be able to suggest an alternative.

Well, I'm sick!!! Bloody DH sneezed and coughed all over me for days and now I have it. Can't go to work in case I infect everyone else - poop!!! I just can't win. Got to go to the doctor to get a certificate - have to for every little thing because of the insurance/return to work requirements. The insurance forms are due to be sent tomorrow, so I can get him to fill it in while I'm there.

My back is so much better now - all done with the physio for now. Acupuncture today!! I really should call and see if he still wants to treat me seeing I'm sick. Don't want to infect him too.

The weather here is glorious - Sunday especially so. I did more gardening and filled my green bin up again.

Sue: Sorry you caught the funk, feel better soon.

Alicia: I have heard such stories about that Tamoxifen, are there alternate drugs that will do the same? I hope you get some relief, at least you will know what is causing your symtoms.

I was able to get some work done in the yard before it started storming, so that was good. Trying hard to be more motivated and pretending the end of my chemopause will mean the end of all my crappy feelings. (Crossing fingers that I can convince myself I feel better).

Hi Melinda - say hello to the beau from me :)

Acupuncture went ok - he pronounced me well in Chinese terms but I'm still getting hot flushes. Don't need to go back again.

DH really sick, so far I seem to have evaded the worst of it. I'm all dosed up on cold and flu tabs and cough medicine.

Got excited today - my Mad Men series 4 DVD arrived. They haven't shown it on TV here yet, so we are getting the scoop - we just love it!!!

Now my new cross stitch just needs to get here from the UK and I'll be really happy - it's a squirrel :) Wish I could afford to get the 2 I have completed framed. I've decided I'll have to stop doing them - there will be no where to hang them. I'm doing a little Xmas decoration one with beads at the moment - maybe I should just do that sort of thing - it's quite lovely. Also working on the story quilt when I feel like it but it involves standing at the ironing board for ages so I don't do much in any one day.

Hopefully I'll be ok to go to work on Thursday - meanwhile, I'll just relax.

    Love you girls!!!

Sue, Hope you get to feeling better, stay away from DH...(ha-ha)

Alicia, Sorry about the T-Mox giving you such ill side effects..I'm doing OK with mine now. Have adjusted well. You just keep thinking about your wonderful cruise, your sweet DH & DD. That'll perk you up. I haven't been on a cruise in about 12 years ... I would have anxiety just thinking about getting ready for one though.... I loved it, but even back then boy was I stressed the month before going. I think I was just over anxious then.

Melinda, Hope your chemopause ends your funk and crappy feelings

Nothing new with me, just busy, busy, busy with my home, peeps and gardening

A great week to all, Love Brenda

Linda: I am sorry your chemopause didn't stick. We can be puberty sisters! My kids thought it was funny that was going through puberty again. WIth 13 and 11 yo daughters, I am not sure Mom redoing puberty is a great idea!

Sue: Thanks for asking about the beau. He has only known me menopausal, what if he doesn't like me now? What if coming out of menopause makes me all nice and perky?!? Egads! LOL

    Brenda: Enjoy the peeps!

My onc called, and they want me to come in to check my estrogen levels. The nurse mentioned that he's thinking of shutting my ovaries down with Lupron. Anyone have some advice???

Hey,  if you get a chance, go to youtube.com and type in:  Sad Baby Dislikes JLO Song.  It is a video of my great-nephew.  It's too funny!

Hope the cruise is going well for Michele!!

Sue: how's the hubby and the cold?  All crafting made me exhausted.  :)

Have a great weekend, Everyone!  Nette

We're both still sick - I'll have to go and get another certificate today. I did get up to go to work but didn't feel too good.

I finished the Xmas decoration - now if only that package would arrive, I'll be happy. I can always work on that stupid quilt I guess. Meanwhile I'm lurking around on here :)

    Hi girls

Been thinking about you all lately with our second spring here. My hair finally took off once I stopped Herceptin in Dec. it was slow going for awhile. But lately been in quite a funk and I dont even take any drugs. I guess just cause now I just work and work and time is passing by. Dont get spoiled anymore or given any passes for dinner or laundry its like I was never sick. I guess I didnt train the husband and kids well enough. lol Wishing you all a great spring and thanks for letting me vent. :-)

Mouse:  how come you don't have to take any drugs?  Just wonder.  Yeah, family seems to forget the impact the diagnosis had and in some ways still has. Other people still see my short hair as a reminder.

I will have my one year cancerversary tomorrow. (The date I'm using as my "survivor" date is the day I finished treatment.)  I bought a pink glass bead for my Pandora bracelet yesterday to mark the day and sat in my car afterwards fighting tears...of relief?  I know not, but I'm here.  I do try so hard to look ahead and not behind.

    Have a fabulous cruise, Alicia!!!!!!!!!!!

    Happy Friday!  Nette

Hello, ladies!  I just stopped by to send Happy Easter/Happy Passover hugs to everyone (it's chocolate bunnies AND matzoh at our house Smile). Not much new to report here, other than Spring finally arriving, so that's a good thing.  I am talking to my onc about aching and stiffness in my hips -- they say it's a common side effect of the Tamox, so I'm hoping some Tylenol Arthritis will help. Makes me feel darn old, though.

I am trying to find a website for someone -- I am racking my brain trying to find a site where you put in different aspects of your diagnosis and it gives you a percentage benefit of treatment -- am I crazy? I feel like I used it at some point, and now it's like it doesn't exist.  Ah, chemo brain, how you stink.

Wishing everyone lots of warmth and sunshine....

Melinda - that's a good site!!! Better than the other one seeing anyone can use it.

Give the beau a hug from me :)

I've been struggling mentally ever since this whole bc thing started and every time DH says - 'lets go for a bike ride', I say "my tyres are flat" - meaning my hearts just not in it. It was like I'd shut down.

Well, yesterday was such a lovely day - I asked him to pump up my tyres and suggested we go for a ride. We went way further than I would have on my own, but I managed quite well. I did feel great after it. I hurt my back again on Friday morning and it was hurting a bit riding, but by the time we got home it actually felt better. We have a bike track that follows a brook near us, so we don't have to ride on roads for very far before we hit the track. You can ride for miles and miles on it. We did 6.5 miles according to his bike computer.

Don't eat too much chocolate :)
