My son is also 4 1/2!  It will be OK.  I am half way through my chemo and doing better than I anticipated.  I am off from work though so that makes things a little easier for me.  You know what, ask for help from those you love..simple things like dinner or grocery shopping.  Rely on your hubby to do things.  There are some places that will clean your house for free during chemo...google that I think it is called Cleaning for a Reason...not sure but I know I read it on the resources thread.  Good luck in chemo!  I am on taxotere and cytoxan and still feeling really good.  I had a few bad days on the first round but the second round has really been so much better.  I am doing cold caps for hair so I still have hair too.  I just told someone I know that I have BC today.  She was stunned...I don't look sick, still have hair and am doing everything I regularly do.  Listen to your body though as everyone is different.  I wish you good luck! You should join us in the Chemo section on the March 2011 Chemo Lounge.  It's the best group of gals going through chemo ever!

Thanks, Barbara.  I really appreciate that.  I'm alright..just some times are more frustrating than others.  I really need a nap.  :)  Ah, but time to clean up the kitchen a bit for Jack's playdate tomorrow morning--if we're not buried under snow!  WHAT?!  Come ON, Spring!  I'm looking forward to watching Jack play from my hammock outside!  LOL!!!  :)  --Cris

    Hi Ladies,

I am jumping in here a bit late but I thought I might have something helpful to add.  I was diagnosed in July 2004 and went through chemo treatment in the second half of that year.  At the time my twin boys were four (what is it with 4yo twins LOL).  Anyway I felt many of the things you ladies are feeling.  It is hard when you have kids to care for and you worry about the effect it will have on them.  I just thought I would say that my boys will be 11 this weekend and they are absolutely fine now.  I don't think the experience harmed them in the longer term.  Obviously I haven't had a recurrence, so that is not an issue, I still wear a prothesis which we throw at each other occasionally LOL.  They are accepting, unharmed and unworried.

I hope my post comes across as reassuring and not patronising.  All the best to you ladies with your treatment.

    Take care,

    Sandy
