Sigh....

I have had such a rough two days....  My 14 year old son lost one of his good friends to leukemia 2 days ago.  They had played on the same baseball teams together and became friends.

This boy was the most amazing, sweet natured person.  He was also the most gifted athlete I have ever known, and with boys who are into sports- I've known a lot.  He was an only child, and absolutely adored and doted on by his Mom.  I can't even begin to imagine the depth of her sadness. He began to get more tired than usual and started bruising a year and a half ago- that's when he was diagnosed.  And now he is gone.

The funeral is tomorrow. I just wish I could take the pain away from everyone. I also worry about my son and his friends- dealing with the death of a friend at such a young age.

It really does put things into perspective.  He was there for me and and my son when I was diagnosed 4 and a half years ago.  I'm still here, but he is not....

Sad....  Frown
