Ginger - we lived in Olympia for over twenty years - My husband much longer - he grew up there. One of the things I miss most here at the beach is the flowers. We had a glorious hydrangea, planted when the house was built just before WWll. I grew up in eastern WA. When I was in the seventh grade we had a late snow the week after Easter. That weekend we came over to Olympia. When I saw the Capitol campus with all the fantastic spring flowers from the top of the capitol dome I vowed I would one day live there. The month I graduated from College I moved to the area.

Barbara...what a wonderful cake! I feel like one of Pavlov 's dogs right now! A piece will go great with my morning coffee...thank you.
Our poor crocuses are trying to peek through the snow...so much for our spring flowers!
-
We don't have flowers blooming here yet. My granddaughter (18 months) knows the word "flower" and optimistically points to last year's brown and done cone flowers and such like saying "flower". Once things really start to bloom, I think she may explode with joy. I certainly will be happy.

Happy birthday Suz!
For those on Facebook, check out the videos of DH's band I uploaded last night.

So is everyone ready to enjoy the cake?
Maybe we should have mimosas.
-
Barbara, love your pic and the cake and it looks like I'm going to want to be around to get a better view of the waiters. Sorry about your Gators.
Good morning all!
-
Happy Birthday
-
Happy Birthday Suz! I am ready for the cake, bring the waiters on! Anybody else ready to party?
Barb - I could not get the link to work. I check on your page.
-
Suzie, very Happy Birthday.
Isabella.
-
GreenFlash is awesome! Thanks for sharing you DH's band with us. They are really good.
-
Thank you for the birthday wishes!! DD has invited us for dinner....no cooking for me!!
Love the waiters!!
-
Marybe - Hope you didn't sink a lot of $ into lottery tickets after your prediction of wins by Fla and Az! I and my daughters went to ASU, so I wasn't really rooting for the Wild Cats, bit it would have been nice for Tucson. Oh well - next year!
DD's birthday last night with a marble cake with custard filling with Oreos crunched up in it and Oreos on top - yum! Plus dinner at a brewery with wonderful Hefeweizen - need to take a LONG walk today!
Edited to add: Green Flash is a GREAT name for a band! I always look for it at the beach - whether or not I see it depends on how long the sunset happy hour has been
-
Glad everyone likes them., They really are good. Speaking of green flashes, I have been lucky to see 6-7 of them. Since I live on the west coast of FL, we have spectacular sunsets.
Wish the weekend wasn't over. Sigh. Back to the grind.
-
Suzie, Happy Birthday! I hope your day was wonderful.
-
did someone mention Green Flash??
-
I guess I've found another board to belong to. I'm well qualified at 65 although I still feel 25. My spirit and liveliness may very well depend on the day, but I'll do my best to keep up. I find a margarita the best medicine for all my ills so this could be the right group for me!

Diana - welcome to the party. We are always on the look out for a celebration - any excuse to party is welcome. Amy Jo
-
Diane, I am with you on the margueritas.
-
Barb - Yummmmmmm! Save one for me.
-
I want one too.
However it is too early in the day to drink here ( I would sleep all afternoon) so will wait until a bit later to indulge.
-
AmyJo, {{{HUGS}}}. ONE MORE!!!
-
What?! There is NO food in my cheeks! Would I lie?
My 7 mo old DGD

Lisa, outstanding picture! Don't know if you took that one or not, but ALL your photos are so beautiful.
I can use some beautiful today after the Carolina Tarheels fall in the NCAA tournament. Or maybe better yet, a margarita!
