    River_Rat; Halt the cough syrup. Here is my grandmother's secret remedy for a cough and cold

    Have a Hot Toddy...I know we could all insert a joke here...and be careful if you google "hot Toddy".

    This will soothe your cough or at least knock you out for a bit.

    1 oz Brandy, Rum or Whiskey

    1 TBSP honey

    Juice of 1/4 fresh lemon

    1 cup of hot brewed tea

    Cinnamon Stick 

    Coat the bottom of your mug with honey,  add the lemon juice, and add the hot tea. 

    Repeat, Repeat, Repeat...lol

    no cowboy stories tonight ladies.. suffice to say, years ago, when i was young, and had the strength, my tag line was "who are you, and where's my car?" and i think thats' enough info tonite..

        Ginger...comngrats! i hung my cert for finishing chemo up.. it was the hardest , and most scary cert. ive ever earned in all my life, and i've "reinvented myself many times over..

       Alyson, hope your birthday dinner went well tonite! any new on the Gbaby yet? how long will they wait till they induce?  can't wat to hear!   3jays

    hey ValJean, i know how you feel. of all the deaths, here, this one got to me too, and i can't REALLY tell you why. maybe im just more sensitive today, but its' the first time i've cried here in over a year.. so, i'll be a DD with you tonite. be well..      3jays

    Yes the news about Olga really got to me too so I will drink to her memory tonight as well.

    Since my 68th birthday was spent with my DD & DH in the surgeons office, my party was postponed until the 26th when my DD & I will go see the Thunder from Down Under at our local casino....  I think I qualify for a dirty-old-woman now????

     Have already had a glass of wine but now will have another as Samuel arrived about an hour ago. 8lb 9oz and his mother is very tiny, no wonder it was caeserian.

    3jays-LOVE the line from when you were younger "who are you & where is my car?" That's me too!  Seemed like such fun back then-I certainly had a guardian angel flying fast & furious on my shoulder!!!!!!

    hey ladies.. Alyson! samuel! what a wonderful name, to go along with a BIG boy! will he have the same BDay as me, now, with the time change? im bad, cant figure it out.. is it the 24th, or 23rd like granma?  yeah, im having dinner with my GKids tomnight. a new treat for fischer. he's 4; and orders a
    side salad" with that, please..anytime we go out.

       last B.Day, we intoduced him to coffee ice cream (he wasn't allowed ) before by daddy.. i did sneak him coffee, but it would always be a row.. last year, he said with big eyes' NANA they have coffe and icecream all TOGETHER!!HE WAS SO FUNNY.. SO, WE TOLD HIM WE'D TAKE HIM TO A RESTERAUNT THAT HE COULD sorry..make his OWN salad, however he wanted, as much as he wanted.. he was WOW , as much dipping sauce as i want, too..(dressing) 

       so tonight promises to be fun. what he doesn't know is it's all thedesserts he wants, too.Finley loves finger food of any kind, and macc and cheese is one she creates. it'll be a messy, loud B>Day.. sorry , no cowboys this year, except the ones online.. maybe next year, though.

    pickle141/Beth, I wish I had seen your recipe earlier last night.  Definitely looks better than what I had.  But are you sure - rum in tea?  I've had liquor in coffee but never in tea....a new experience awaits me.

    I feel too old to party this morning. 3jays he shares your birthday, missed mine by a few hours but so pleased he is here and is fine. Will go and see him soon. DH and I will go out for dinner tonight to celebrate birth and birthday. 3jays have a great time tonight

    3jays - Happy Birthday and hope you are enjoyed you dinner with the Grandchildren.

    Alyson - congratulations on the new healthy grandson, Samuel is a good strong name to go with a strong boy.  I know you are thrilled.  Is he your frist grandson?
